Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

On the way back, Chen Jie held onto Su Yunjin’s little hand like this.

Such a commonplace occurrence appeared highly unusual during this era.

Feudal etiquette was not supportive of public displays of affection.

It hadn’t been an issue at Uncle Erba’s house, but as soon as they stepped outside and encountered other villagers, Su Yunjin realized.

She tried to withdraw her hand.

But Chen Jie kept a firm hold on her soft, boneless little hand.

”Jiu Si, hey, sister-in-law!”

”Jiu Si has gone out.”

”Jiu Si, off for a walk?”

Villagers greeted Chen Jie one after another, and Su Yunjin’s face turned as red as a teapot set to boil.

Especially when others greeted her as well, it tickled her like someone was scratching the soles of her feet—both too much to bear and strangely gratifying, her whole body felt overheated.

Let alone this era, even in our last century, during the fifties and sixties, a couple holding hands in the countryside would be pointed at and become the subject of ridicule!

Along the way, Su Yunjin was like a little sparrow, with blushing cheeks, her neck tucked in, she even wanted to bury her head in her own bosom.

At that moment, Chen Jie spoke up, ”Yunjin, I have something to tell you, it looks like we won’t make it to the market today, I need to visit my master’s place.”

”Mhm!”

Upon hearing this, Su Yunjin lifted her head.

Chen Jie continued, ”About hitting Yu Sanliu’s lackey, I need to consult with Uncle Zhong. Otherwise, it could spell trouble.”

”Yes, husband, serious matters shouldn’t be delayed!”

”Moreover, I’ve been meaning to tell you, I don’t want to go to the market anymore. The town is under Yu Family’s control. They dare to abduct people openly in the village; in the town, it’s probably even more dangerous...”

Hearing this, Chen Jie hummed an acknowledgment.

Murder flashed in his eyes!

This Yu Sanliu could not be tolerated. Time and again, he tried to harm him and even had designs on his wife; keeping him alive would only invite calamity.

However, the conditions for killing him were not yet ripe.

Firstly, Chen Jie had recently learned that Yu Sanliu succeeded in the Skin Buff Realm three years ago and was indeed a true Martial Artist.

Although he himself had progressed rapidly, he was still a little bit away from the Skin Buff Realm, and besides, wouldn’t Yu Sanliu’s Skin Buff Realm have improved at all in these three years?

And wouldn’t a small rural tyrant like the Yu Family, who had the backing of Guild Cao, possess some formidable martial technique?

And with him only knowing the basic Grand Ancestor Long Fist, if they really fought, he was afraid he might not have the upper hand.

So, the next tasks were to break through to the Skin Buff Realm, find some formidable martial techniques, and lastly, find a suitable opportunity to kill Yu Sanliu.

And before killing Yu Sanliu, he could only begrudge Yunjin by not letting her go out.

Fortunately, she was a smart woman and even took the initiative to avoid going to town.

While Chen Jie was pondering the way forward, Su Yunjin suddenly asked, ”Husband, did you kill Ma Liu?”

Chen Jie was startled, turned to look at her, didn’t say a word, just smiled.

Su Yunjin understood, seeing that Chen Jie bowed his head and moved forward, she pondered whether he felt she would become distant, be afraid of him for killing someone.

But how could she?

He did all this for their home!

Carrying all this alone must be exhausting.

Thinking this, she voluntarily tightened her grip on Chen Jie’s hand, Chen Jie turned to look at her.

Their eyes met, affection arose, and their hearts seemed to draw even closer...

After escorting Su Yunjin home and making sure she locked the door, he went to the Bai Family.

Coincidentally, Wu Zhong had just returned from the fishery, carrying two big carp in his hands, and they met at the gate.

”Uncle Zhong!”

”Oh, Jiu Si, perfect timing. Caught a couple of fish, let your aunt cook you some sweet and sour fish tonight.”

”Thanks, uncle, but there’s something I need to discuss with you.”

”Speak.”

Seeing the seriousness in Chen Jie, Wu Zhong looked at him gravely.

It’s like this...

Chen Jie explained the entire incident, and Wu Zhong squinted his eyes and said, ”Where are those people now?”

”I took a look when I was coming over, and they’re still lying down by the East River.”

”Okay, you don’t need to worry about this anymore, I’ll handle it myself.”

As Wu Zhong spoke, he handed Chen Jie a big carp and said, ”Take this fish back home for Yunjin to eat. She, a little young lady, has been frightened; go accompany her more, and I won’t keep you for dinner.”

”Ah, Uncle, this...”

”Alright, no need to be polite with me, just go.”

Wu Zhong waved his hand to send Chen Jie straight home.

Following that, Wu Zhong turned around and entered his courtyard, placing the fish in the kitchen. He told Mrs. Bai he had a little matter to take care of, then left the house immediately.

At the door, Wu Zhong walked a distance and knocked on a house door, and a Fishing Guild Disciple came out.

”Manager!”

Wu Zhong nodded slightly, then immediately said, ”Go to the fishery and call a few brothers to come with me, we’ve been bullied by others!”

”Yes!”

Upon receiving the order, the Fishing Guild Disciple immediately ran to the fishery to relay the command.

At that time, the fishery hadn’t closed yet; Wu Zhong, as a manager, finished work early, but those staff at the fishery would finish work later.

Once the Fishing Guild Disciple heard this, he immediately rushed to the fishery and shouted, ”Brothers, leave two to watch the house, the rest grab your tools and come with me, our brother has been bullied!”

Hearing this, the Fishing Guild staff instantly perked up from their lackluster state.

Someone shouted, not knowing who, ”Fuck!”

Right after, a group of people pulled out the fish killing knives and various sticks from the fishery and charged out, following the disciple straight to the East River.

Wu Zhong was waiting for them there!

Once everyone gathered, they looked at the ground covered with Yu Family house servants.

These servants, beaten to a mess, some still unconscious, two had awoken but as soon as they opened their eyes, they saw over fifty bare-armed men, holding knives and clubs, looking ferociously at them. Immediately, they ’gave a shout’ and fainted from fright again.

At this moment, Big Ship Leader Zhao Xun also arrived, seeing the Yu Family house servants on the ground, each drooling and rolling their eyes, clutching their groins.

He couldn’t help but take a sharp inhale.

This was truly a ruthless beating.

And the surrounding Fishing Guild Disciples also felt a tingling sensation.

Any man would empathize with another man being hit in that spot, the feeling was too relatable!

It’s like watching a video, seeing someone skateboarding on a rail, suddenly the skateboard slips off, and the person does the splits on the rail—that pain, even through the screen, is tangible.

Zhao Xun then looked at Wu Zhong and said, ”Brother Wu, was this your doing?”

Wu Zhong looked at him and laughed, saying, ”It wasn’t.”

”Then who was it?”

The surrounding Fishing Guild Disciples all looked over too, eager to know who dealt such ruthless blows, to stay away from in the future, not wanting to provoke them.

Wu Zhong laughed and said, ”My father-in-law’s disciple, Chen Jiusi, he’ll be reporting to the fishery tomorrow!”

”Sss—he’s the one!”

Everyone took a sharp breath upon hearing this, mentally marking Chen Jie as someone not to be provoked lightly. Look at how vicious his attack was; no one wanted to endure that sort of excruciating pain!

Hearing this, Zhao Xun also regarded Chen Jie highly, as someone who struck fiercely.

”Then Brother Wu, what about us?”

The Disciples were also curious, indeed, if Chen Jiusi had beaten them all, what were they here for? Hadn’t they already won?

Upon hearing this, Wu Zhong said, ”Is this matter settled just by beating them up?”

”Brothers, Guild Cao has bullied us too much!”

Wu Zhong went through the incident again, and upon hearing it, the Fishing Guild Disciples were shocked. What, Guild Cao dared to rob a brother from the Fishing Guild of his wife in broad daylight? This cannot stand!

Justice must be sought.

Think the tiger doesn’t roar, you’ll see me as a sick cat?

This must be settled!

Wu Zhong, seeing the Fishing Guild Disciples’ riled sentiments, thought: Good, the people’s hearts are with me.

He gestured with his hand.

”Come, carry these guys and follow me to Guild Cao to demand justice!”

”Demand justice!”
