Ning An's Wild Wish System

In the height of summer, the sun rose early.

Quan Xiaobai was accustomed to such days; at the break of dawn, when the sky was still dim, he was already awake.

After packing his bag and carefully covering any traces around him, he looked around to ensure nothing unexpected had happened. Then, he made a hand seal and recited a spell, saying, ”Swift!”

Bang!

With a thought, the coverings on the Iron Corpse flew off, and it stood upright, bouncing over in front of him.

Looking at the Iron Corpse before him, he sighed inwardly and once again apologized to the Zhang Family.

Despite the lingering scent of blood from its last murder, Quan Xiaobai didn’t even frown; instead, he felt a bit of tenderness in his heart: ”Forward, Swift!”

...

After the emergency meeting, the police teams started their actions.

However, even in today’s society, without a specific location, relying only on a blurry portrait and using methods akin to searching for a needle in a haystack, finding someone in the wild forest was extremely difficult.

Even with police officers drawn from surrounding areas, maintaining a combat-ready state while thoroughly searching the mountain was still impossible.

Considering the suspect was rumored to be highly dangerous, coupled with insufficient police manpower, checkpoints were set up on essential routes down the mountain to deploy forces.

Xiaoli and Captain Hawk were assigned to a trail on the west side of the mountain range, where they needed to stay overnight until shift change.

According to Hawk’s prediction, this trail was neither big nor small; any suspect with normal thinking wouldn’t choose this path.

Xiaoli, in his twenties and fresh out of the police academy, felt a bit nervous on his first assignment being so thrilling, but calmed down upon hearing the captain’s analysis.

Scanning around, Xiaoli complained to the captain: ”Great, I’m definitely going to get scolded tomorrow...”

”Hey, why, got plans today?” Hawk looked at the woods and smiled brightly.

”Yeah, it’s her birthday today. Originally planned to surprise her, but now it seems it’ll only be a shock.”

”You kid, is your brain made of wood? If she’s upset, can’t you say some sweet words to comfort her?”

”Comfort what? She already complains that my job as a police officer is too trivial, affecting daily life. Now with this, sigh.”

”Trust me, speak nicely when you go back, guaranteed it’ll be fine.”

Feeling sleepy, the captain lit a cigarette, chuckling as he said, ”After this mission, I’ll grant you two days off to ensure you two can strengthen your relationship.”

”Master, stop joking.” Xiaoli’s face flushed instantly.

”You kid, my brother-in-law has a Gold Card from HomeInn; if you need it, I’ll bring it to you, 20% off!”

Looking at his young apprentice, the captain couldn’t help but tease him.

The middle-aged man could be patient, but the young man hadn’t been hardened by society yet, and soon felt hot all over, sprinting out instantly:

”Master, I’ll go for a pee, be right back.”

Under the hazy moonlight, he left the trench, groping his way to a nearby woods, taking out his thing and started peeing.

To avoid alarming any suspects, almost all checkpoints were unlit, leaving everything in pitch black darkness.

The cool breeze cleared his mind instantly, and just as Xiaoli was ready to return, his gaze fixed suddenly, followed by a halt in his movement.

”Alright, alright, seems like my time to shine!”

On the backside of the mountain, the night wind blew strongly, making it unlikely for any living creature to move around here.

But from a place not far away, there came a faint sense of disharmony.

Xiaoli didn’t act recklessly; his master had instructed him to ensure personal safety first in case of disturbance, then quickly call for backup, using direct forceful suppression.

If possible, gang up — why solo a fight?

Unless absolutely necessary, do not act like a hero alone!

These were the exact words taught by the captain, and Xiaoli had taken them to heart.

Just discovering the suspect’s tracks was already a significant achievement, so why risk himself?

Under the dim moonlight again, Xiaoli squinted hard, and sure enough, there were indeed two humanoid figures.

Though he couldn’t see their faces, one of them moved in a way that clearly resembled a rabbit, perfectly matching the suspect’s characteristics.

”Calling Hawk, calling Hawk...”

However, before he could finish whispering, he saw the two figures suddenly turn, eerily saying, ”Move again and you’ll die!”

In a split second, the two figures quickly sprinted off in the opposite direction.

”I think you’re the ones courting death!”

It was Xiaoli’s first mission, and as the captain, Hawk naturally paid him extra attention.

From Xiaoli discovering the suspect to calling for him, there were no issues, keeping all movements minimized.

But Xiaoli hadn’t anticipated that the suspect was not an ordinary person.

Faced with such reality, the captain immediately called the center for reinforcements, then hurriedly got out to join Xiaoli.

”Stop!”

”Don’t run!”

In the wilderness, both parties started an intense chase; the captain and Xiaoli shouted as they ran, with vines in the woods keeping them painfully on guard.

Having spotted the suspect, there was no need to hide the flashlight anymore; the captain flicked it, instantly illuminating the path ahead.

No doubt!

Exactly as the report described: A young man and an unknown entity.

Hopping around, even at quite a pace!

Looks like mutants from foreign sci-fi films!

Even the experienced captain, having seen many big scenes, felt a chill down his spine witnessing this, cursing inwardly: ”What the hell is this thing?”
