Ning An's Wild Wish System

The voice on the other end of the phone gave a bitter laugh:

”Your biological father probably cared for you. Even though he abandoned you at the orphanage gate, he still wrapped you in clothes and a blanket.”

”Although there wasn’t anything else with your bundle, and at that time there was no Celestial Eye, no witnesses, it seemed impossible to find him, but those clothes and the blanket betrayed him.”

”In our time, clothes and blankets were locally produced and worn by local people. Even if it’s the same brand, there would be significant differences depending on the place.”

”Based on this information, I first located the city, then went village by village asking about families that had a boy, later missing one.”

”Of course, this might be a bit inaccurate, so I specifically spent money to hire locals, during casual conversations, to collect hair or skin tissue from these people.”

”And just like that, I found your biological father.”

As soon as these words were spoken, there was silence on both ends of the call.

For a moment, everyone was silent.

Biological father or adoptive father?

Illusion or reality, the truth is clear.

The audience in the livestream couldn’t stop sighing.

”Ah, all are people with hard fates, why make it hard for each other?”

”The mediator’s biological father must have had some difficulties, otherwise, why would he clothe and wrap him in a blanket?”

”Yeah, if his father was like this old man, he wouldn’t have given him anything, just tossed him beside a garbage pile in the winter.”

”Looking at it this way, the adoptive father is a good person. Whether it’s her or the mediator, they’ve been wholeheartedly kind to them, even better than a regular biological father.”

”This old man is really disappointing!”

Everyone was silently moved by the deep father-son bond, but Ning An took two steps back without showing any emotion.

Others might not know, but he understood.

He didn’t want Wang Sheng’s spit to land on his face later.

Tears glimmered at the corner of Wang Sheng’s eyes as he rasped, ”Dad... you’ve gone through a lot.”

The voice on the other end chuckled and said, ”Who made me your dad? Finding your biological father counts as resolving one of my concerns. Whether or not you return to him, I don’t care as long as you’re happy. Ha ha ha ha.”

Wang Sheng, facing the phone, declared word by word, ”Dad, in this lifetime, I only acknowledge you as my father! Even if he has millions or billions of assets, I won’t acknowledge him. I only have you as my dad!”

His statement was resolute and decisive!

Wang Sheng’s adoptive father sighed again, ”I know, you were raised by me, how could I not know your temperament?”

”I found your biological father, but unfortunately, he doesn’t have any millions or billions of assets waiting for you to inherit.”

Wang Sheng sneered, ”If he can live his days well, their ancestral graves would be smoking! Someone who abandons his own son at the orphanage gate doesn’t deserve to live well!”

Wang Sheng’s adoptive father sighed, ”Sheng, I know you hold a grudge against your biological father, but after all, he is your biological father. He gave you life. Leaving you at the orphanage gate shows he isn’t a heartless person. You shouldn’t resent him too much.”

Hearing this, the audience in the livestream couldn’t help but sigh first.

”Is this adoptive father the reincarnation of Tang Monk? Obviously, the mediator’s biological father isn’t a good person, otherwise, why keep saying good things?”

”Exactly. Uncle, this child was raised by you. He’s your biological son after all these years, yet you still found his biological father for him? In the context of cuckold literature, aren’t you the male protagonist?”

”A biological father isn’t important at all! The mother carries the child for ten months, and then he abandons the child. Besides providing the genetic contribution, what else did he do?”

...

The audience could read between the lines, and so could Wang Sheng.

Frowning, he hesitantly asked, ”Is he... living a miserable life?”

Wang Sheng’s adoptive father replied with a ”hmm” and said, ”Quite a tragic situation. I heard he lost his wife in middle age and has been alone since. His relatives don’t want to associate with him, and he never had a proper job. Even now, he lives in a two-tile cave dwelling in the village.”

Wang Sheng laughed and cursed, ”Serves him right! If he had the guts to abandon his child back then, he wouldn’t be such a failure now!”

Then, Wang Sheng’s relaxed brow furrowed again, ”Something’s not right, Dad, tell me honestly, what did he do? Why don’t even his relatives want to acknowledge him?”

Wang Sheng’s adoptive father hesitated for a moment but still said, ”You know, in the past, during the planned economy, as long as people were willing to work hard, there was food to eat, equally. But some people were slick, the kind that would call out loudly but do nothing.”

Wang Sheng snorted coldly, ”So, my cheap biological father is a lazy good-for-nothing, but that’s not a principle problem. It shouldn’t lead to everyone shunning him, right?”

”He has a small problem... he likes gambling with mahjong.”

Whoa!

Hearing that, there was an uproar among the audience in the livestream, and the Incense Burners murmured among themselves.

”I, Mr. Huang, will not coexist with gambling or drugs in this lifetime!”

”Goodness, this lousy fellow, Mr. Huang didn’t mention a thing!”

”Gambling is incredibly harmful. Don’t be fooled by thinking a mahjong game might be just a matter of one unit, but without a cap, you could try and see just how much you could lose in a single game.”
