Ning An's Wild Wish System

Y City, Swan Grand Hotel.

At this moment, an extremely luxurious banquet has just ended.

A group of men staggered out, arms around each other’s shoulders.

They spoke indistinctly, spouting nonsense everywhere. It took them a while, but they eventually reluctantly got into their designated cars and left.

In the end, the group was reduced to three people, notable as the developer and his assistant.

Seeing everyone had left, they stopped pretending. Their originally unsteady steps and mumbling tongues vanished without a trace.

Their faces were exceptionally calm as they turned and walked towards the parking lot.

”You did well this time. Although there were some minor hiccups in the middle, overall, it’s not a big problem. I trust your handling.”

”Not at all, this is all thanks to President Wang. I’m just running errands, I don’t understand these things, it’s all due to President Wang’s good teaching.”

”Hahaha, you’re still playing tricks with me. We’re all family, no need for pretense. Rest assured, when this project is over and it’s time for rewards, you won’t miss out.”

”Then I’ll thank you in advance, Brother.”

As soon as they got in the car, their previous tipsy appearance completely disappeared.

This assistant was in charge of the project and also the developer’s cousin.

This project is immense, enough to affect the policies that will soon be implemented citywide. Only if this initial test is successful here will there be a series of subsequent policies, which many big shots are keeping an eye on.

The Swan Grand Hotel is located in the city center, with very good conditions, but the surrounding roads are quite congested.

After a while, the car finally drove out of the city center and arrived at the villa district in the east of the city.

My villa district consists of a hundred million yuan for each set, representing not only the ultimate wealth but also implying the owner has sufficient status.

Because this place is developed and designed by the mayor’s son.

Just as they were about to reach the villa district, the car suddenly stalled and stopped.

”Why did the car stop?” President Wang asked drowsily from the back seat.

”There’s someone in front blocking the way.” The driver replied honestly.

”Drive over him.” President Wang waved his hand, clearly dissatisfied with being disturbed in his sleep.

”Brother, go see what’s up, tell them to move, don’t they know who we are?”

The assistant hurriedly stopped him. This is the city, not the countryside.

If it were in the countryside, a matter like this could be handled sloppily, but in the city, etiquette has to be observed.

Besides, they’re close to the villa district. If an incident occurs here, it wouldn’t look good on anyone involved.

”Yes.”

The driver received the directive, grinned widely, flexed his wrists, and got out of the car.

”Hey, can’t you see Grandpa is driving? Standing here, aren’t you afraid of getting run over?”

As the driver walked over, he observed the other person.

The person was dressed in funeral clothes, with a black plastic bag over their head, making their face indistinguishable, quite eerie. Standing there, they neither spoke nor moved.

”Are you looking for death?”

Seeing this, the driver grew angry, and without hesitation slapped the person: ”Are you pretending in front of Grandpa? When Grandpa was born, you still didn’t know where you were nursing.”

Bam!

The slap landed without any resistance, hitting the person’s face squarely.

But the driver felt a chill in his heart. Normally, a slap should sound with a crisp smack on the flesh, but this slap felt as if it hit a metallic block.

It was completely different from the feel of human flesh!

The driver instantly felt a chill down his spine, turned, and ran back.

But as he turned, a chill wind blew past, and soon everything went black, completely losing consciousness.

...

A shocking case!

In just three days, four people died, crucially, three of them died right in the city!

No need to discuss the identities of these people; based on the fact that four people died and most of them were in the city, it was enough to cause a seismic shock from top to bottom in Y City.

For a while, all the police in Y City mobilized— even the retired old detectives were called back to swiftly capture the perpetrator.

None of the four victims were left intact! Hearts and lungs were gouged out; one had even their head smashed.

More eerily, before the city’s murder cases occurred half an hour prior, all surveillance equipment were working fine, but strangely, from half an hour to twenty minutes after the incident, all surveillance equipment failed as if influenced by a strong magnetic field!

No eyewitnesses, no usable information from the murderer; the only clue remaining was the unsightly claw marks on the bodies, which didn’t seem humanly possible.

More like something only large animals like bears or tigers could achieve.

But this didn’t seem realistic, not discussing the probability of large animals appearing in the city unnoticed; just the removal of traces made it impossible to be animal-related.

If it were a human using specially made steel claws to commit the crime, that’s even more improbable!

It’s common knowledge that human strength has limits; even aided by claws, to instantly rip open a human body is impossible unless one were superhuman.

Thus, the entire case stalled, with no major progress for a while.

The rumors about the case grew more wild; in fact, residing in the Northeast, everyone believed in gods and ghosts, and especially the Great Immortal, which was deeply ingrained in people’s minds.

Some people superstitiously said they’d angered the Great Immortal, who came to claim their lives. Though this idea was ridiculed, it did stir anxiety among people.

Fortunately, after these two cases, there hadn’t been more murder reports for a long time.

The murderer seemed aware of the uproar they caused and had fled.

And regarding this case, Y City’s officials bit the bullet and reported it to higher authorities, knowing the whole matter was beyond their handling capacity by now.

...

No matter how chaotic Y City became, Changchun Temple far away in Z City was unaffected.

Ning An lay comfortably on a lounge chair, waiting for incense burners to make wishes.

Listening to sincere voices, understanding worldly woes.

If Diting were troubled and wanted to go through worldly trials, maybe Ning An would swap places with it.

After all, nothing can stop a Dragon Country person from being motivated by curiosity!

Just then, an unexpected visitor appeared at the door.

He’s called an unexpected visitor because Ning An could hear him loudly buzzing like a fly from a distance.

Continuously shouting at people ahead asking them to make way for him to burn incense first.

No one wanted to argue with such a spirited upstart, so they pinched their noses and let him go ahead.

As he reached Ning An, the arrogance on his face abated slightly and he brazenly said:

”Daoist Master, give me three sticks of incense, I came to offer incense to the ancestors.”

Ning An completely ignored him, continuing to play with his phone without lifting his head.

This provoked the spirited youngster, making him feel humiliated, ready to slam his palm on the table, but before he could utter a harsh word, the table suddenly shifted direction.

He missed the slap, and with his forward momentum unchecked, fell face first to the ground.

Only then did Ning An lift his head and say with a smile:

”Layman, you can’t sleep here, get up.”
