Ning An's Wild Wish System

Just as Wang Sheng rolled his eyes and answered the phone, the old man started his antics again.

”Anyway, in the end, she’ll have to take care of me. I’m thinking about how I want to live my life in the future.”

”I definitely can’t stay at her place. It’s too small; it would make me uncomfortable.”

”A nursing home, and it must be the best in the city, no negotiation!”

Wang Wenyan heard this and laughed in anger.

Screw you!

Truly, shameless people are invincible!

Take care of you?

Sure.

First, swallow a bottle of poison and see how you do.

Before Wang Wenyan could say anything, the women nearby couldn’t hold it in anymore.

”I mean, you should be satisfied, shouldn’t you? If your daughter can take care of you, it’s already a blessing you’ve earned over eight lifetimes, and you still want to live in a nursing home?”

”Exactly, have some conscience, will you? Even the cheapest nursing home in Z City isn’t something an average family can afford. You’re really not being human!”

The aunties were filled with righteous indignation, and the netizens were even more furious.

”Screw you! Taking care of you? Ha!”

”Truly inhuman!”

”This Old Deng is infuriating me. Where’s the director of the mental hospital? Your patient has escaped, are you going to do something about it?”

...

The old man didn’t care about these rumors, nor did he care whether his daughter had money.

All he cared about was whether he could live comfortably and enjoy the rest of his life.

The old man raised his chin, tilted his eyes, and said contemptuously, ”I don’t care. Children providing for their parents is her obligation.”

”If she can’t manage it, why blame me? Shouldn’t she reflect on whether she’s worked hard all these years? She can’t even afford to let her old father live in a nursing home.”

”Anyway, I must live in a nursing home, and she must come visit me every two days. Otherwise, I’ll definitely be bullied by other old men and caregivers.”

”Yes, and she must give me money every week. I don’t need much, just give me two or three thousand a week. I’m easy to support.”

...

The more the old man spoke, the more animated he became, spittle flying as if he were expounding some universal truth.

The women present hadn’t recovered from his outrageous demands before his next outrageous demand was already out of his mouth.

Shameless!

I’ve never seen such an audacious fool!

Everyone looked at him with undisguised contempt.

Even Wang Sheng, who had just connected the call, glanced at him helplessly after hearing this.

Old man, act like a human, will you?

You’re making it seem like she’s the unfilial daughter.

The livestream exploded.

”This old bastard, how did he live this long? Couldn’t his mother tell he was a beast when he was young? It would’ve been better to just kill him.”

”And talking about working hard for years, how can he even say such a thing? Eff your mother!”

”Even if the mediator writes the agreement in the way the old man wants, it should never be executed!”

”Yes, this Old Deng is the type who will take a mile if you give an inch. Once you give in, he’ll drag you further into the abyss.”

...

The netizens’ curses continued unabated, but Ning An looked at the light blue panel, then at Wang Sheng, and chuckled calmly, ”Do you know what people live for in this life?”

Wang Sheng sneered and didn’t respond. He even put the phone aside and said, ”Daoist Master, no matter what you say now, it can’t cover up her failure to fulfill her obligation to support her parents.”

”This is her biological father; she must support him! Besides, is there anything wrong with what the old man said? At most, some of his requests are debatable.”

”What’s wrong with wanting to live a little more comfortably in old age?”

At first glance, these demands seemed reasonable if somewhat exaggerated.

After all, in normal thinking, an eighty-year-old wishing to enjoy the twilight of his life after raising his daughter is understandable.

But in reality, things aren’t as simple as they appear!

Just moving into the best nursing home everywhere — how many families nationwide can afford that?

And has he really forgotten that it was his daughter who raised him? The crap he pulled before, does he have a memory span of seven seconds?

Where’s the face?

Ning An exhaled, looked at Wang Sheng, and laughed brightly, ”There’s nothing wrong.”

”It’s like how I want the richest man in Dragon Country to give me a small goal. Is there anything wrong with that request?”

”He has so many small goals; it wouldn’t hurt to part with one. I’m not asking for his entire fortune!”

The moment she uttered those first three words, the livestream viewers clenched their fists, shocked that Ning An would say such a thing.

But as soon as Ning An finished those two sentences, everyone burst into laughter, feeling like the clouds had cleared.

”Praise before critique, nice! The Little Daoist understands the power of language.”

”I was already thinking about how Zhuge Liang verbally killed a top strategist, and today, I’ve seen a glimpse of linguistic assassination.”

”I’m dying of laughter, hahaha. The request isn’t excessive; maybe we should let the old man make a wish at the temple and see if an Immortal takes pity and grants him a small goal.”

”Hey, have you forgotten the reputation of Changchun Temple’s incense offerings? Granting him a small goal might require dismantling Northern Myanmar; it’s hard to imagine what little price he’d have to pay.”

”Perfect! This beast deserves such a consequence, which also serves as a kind of compensation to his daughter under our country’s inheritance laws.”

...

Ning An’s words, first downplaying then boosting, immediately enlivened the atmosphere online and in the temple.

All the unrelated bystanders were grinning from ear to ear.
