Not Being a Trainer This Time

Dragonite’s efficiency in getting things done was quick; it returned with the fish it caught before the sky darkened.

Its two arms were holding two lobsters, its mouth was biting a large squid, and a withered seaweed was wrapped around the little horn on its head.

Despite looking so disheveled, Dragonite’s heart was very happy.

Seeing Naoki who was welcoming it in the pasture, Dragonite cried out in joy, tossed the big lobsters and the squid from its mouth onto the grass, and hugged Naoki with its seawater-scented chubby arm.

”Roar!”

”Silly.” Naoki helped Dragonite remove the seaweed from its horn, then picked up the lobsters and squid from the grass and took them back to the kitchen.

Dragonite sat on the grass to rest.

Naoki turned back and advised, ”Don’t run around, I’ll give you a bath later!”

”Roar~” Dragonite agreed happily.

The sky was getting dark, and the dragonites that worked were joyfully carrying their Poffin Boxes, heading off from the pasture.

Dragonite sat on the grass, bathed in the sunset, and looking at those dragonites in the sky, it waved its paw in excitement.

”Roar!”

Alder watched this scene, marveling: ”This Dragonite really likes you!”

Naoki smiled, putting the lobsters and squid into a basin.

Those lobsters and squid were still alive, not dead, it seems Dragonite’s speed was really quick, probably found them and used Extreme Speed to rush back to the pasture.

Thinking of this, Naoki told Alder about the amusing incident when Dragonite once left home due to jealousy.

”At that time, the other dragonites brought me many big fish as gifts, Dragonite was unwilling to lose to them, and then silently left home, flying elsewhere, wanting to catch a bigger fish to outshine the other dragonites.”

”Hahaha!” Alder thought of that scene and laughed heartily, quickly asking, ”What happened afterward?”

”Later on...” Naoki recalled, continued: ”Later, Dragonite encountered a mysterious large Fish-type Pokemon in the sea, but that Pokemon was not only huge but also very strong.”

”Dragonite was no match for it and lost that battle, returning to the pasture crestfallen.”

”It must have felt very upset.” Alder said.

”Indeed!” Naoki was filled with emotion: ”But the fact that Dragonite had such intentions was enough, for a Trainer, as long as a Pokemon can always be by their side, that is the best gift.”

Upon hearing those words, Alder was reminded of his Volcarona, his tone was equally emotional:

”Indeed! That call from Leon was the most precious gift I received in my life.”

Listening to the duo’s conversation, Cyclizar and Koraidon both looked over.

Naoki usually wouldn’t express his feelings towards Pokemon so plainly.

Even though it wasn’t the first time hearing such words, Koraidon still felt a surge of warmth inside, as if struck by something.

And Cyclizar looked over enviously and longingly.

”Gao...”

Naoki patted Cyclizar’s head, saying to it: ”Not just Dragonite, but you too!”

Even though among the Pokemon, Cyclizar’s presence wasn’t that prominent.

But its assistance to Naoki was no less than that of any other Pokemon.

Being the first Pokemon to come to the pasture, Cyclizar was very familiar with everything in the pasture.

It was precisely because of this that the later Pokemon could so swiftly integrate into the life at the pasture.

Recalling all those past memories, Naoki’s emotions surged, he suggested Cyclizar go play outside for a while, he was going to prepare a lobster feast for everyone.

”Gao~”

Cyclizar nodded happily, turning around and running away.

Koraidon watching this scene, was unsure of what it was thinking.

Tonight’s dinner was settled, two big lobsters, Naoki planned to steam one and make garlic the other, as for that squid, its amount wasn’t enough to share with everyone, Naoki simply tossed it aside.

He fired up the stove and placed the prepared lobster into the steamer, while waiting, Naoki began thinking about Cyclizar.

Compared to the other Pokemon at the pasture, Cyclizar’s strength was somewhat lacking.

Apart from increasing its species strength with a birthday cake and self-training previously, Cyclizar hadn’t had other means to become stronger.

As a Rancher, Naoki didn’t have much pursuit for Pokemon battles.

He didn’t force Pokemon battles, only wanted to support Pokemon to do what they liked.

Whether it’s lounging around and leisurely enjoying life or diligently working and training.

After all, the world is not so cruel, most Pokemon living with humans can happily and peacefully live out their lives.

They use their strength to protect their Trainer, and correspondingly, Trainers also use human knowledge and power to ensure they safely live through their lives.

So, he will also protect Cyclizar well.

Naoki glanced back at Cyclizar lying in front of the fireplace observing Slugma, smiling.

At this moment, the lobster in the pot was about done steaming.

Naoki took it out, habitually taking a look.

Yet this glance revealed some surprising stuff.
