Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 614: Chapter 336: Rookie Trainers and the Grass Trial

Honestly, when it came to attending the wealthy banquet, Naoki’s heart was somewhat anxious.

In his past life, he was just a mere office worker, having never been to such gatherings full of big-shot elites.

But in order to experience smartphones soon, Naoki decided to go and see what kind of banquet the upper class of the Pokemon World held.

Naoki’s mind was a whirl of thoughts, yet his face remained calm.

Alder continued happily, ”Come to think of it, I haven’t been to one in a while either, but don’t worry, we’ll go together when the time comes!”

”Thank you, Alder,” Naoki said politely.

Alder cheerfully patted his shoulder, ”No need to be so polite with me, hehe. Those kinds of events have lots of food you can’t find outside; the big bosses are always talking business, while trainers like me take Volcarona around to eat.”

Naoki: ”...”

After thinking for a moment, he asked, ”What about the time?”

Alder carefully recalled, ”Early April! Either the first or the second, today is March 23rd, we have eight days left.”

Naoki nodded, that was fine, he could comfortably attend the horse race.

Alder: ”I’ll be staying in the Paldea Region during this time, and then we’ll fly to Unova together!”

”Great!” Naoki invited, ”Why not stay at the ranch? The town is planning a horse race, Mr. Alder can relax there.”

”Alright, it’s settled then!”

With Volcarona safe and sound, the weight was finally lifted from Alder’s heart, allowing him to enjoy a tour of his benefactor’s ranch.

Seeing his interest, Naoki took Alder outside for a stroll around the ranch.

The ranch wasn’t very big, but it felt very fulfilling.

Neatly arranged furrows had crops growing robustly.

Several Gogoat leisurely sunbathing on the grass.

Lots of Pokemon not found in the Unova Region were chasing each other around playfully, their mouths filled with merry laughter.

Gazing at the well-kept ranch and the Pokemon, Alder remarked:

”So happy!”

Humans and Pokemon living happily together, this was truly the life he dreamed of.

Naoki raised an eyebrow: ”Oh? Mr. Alder wants to be a rancher too?”

To be honest, Alder was tempted.

Nothing in this world lasts forever; Pokemon lives will eventually come to an end.

Maybe they won’t accompany each other to the very end, but the time and memories shared with Alder are eternal happiness.

Because of this, they must live in the present and cherish every moment.

However, unfortunately, these thoughts were just dreams for Alder.

Because the Unova Region was unstable...

Thinking of this, Alder sighed and shook his head, ”Though I envy it, as Champion of the Unova League, the champion’s duty is to hope for and guard the happiness of humans and Pokemon.”

So, once he returned to Unova, he planned to continue his travels.

Meeting more trainers, teaching them to maintain relationships with Pokemon, building bonds between humans and Pokemon.

Naoki knew this would be the answer; thinking of the Plasma Team in the Unova Region, Naoki encouraged Alder, ”Good luck, Mr. Alder!”

”Mm!” Alder nodded with a smile, he certainly wouldn’t let his fans down!

At this moment, several shadows suddenly flew across the sky.

Alder looked up and saw several Dragonite carrying satchels landing in the ranch.

After finishing a day’s deliveries, they happily found their buddy Indeedee.

They received their Poffin from Indeedee, and ran to sit on the grass, enjoying the delicious Poffin while sunbathing.

Gazing at the Dragonite feasting away, Alder’s eyes widened.

Just then, five Dragonair flew from somewhere, approaching the Dragonite, wanting to taste the Poffin too.

”!!!”

Alder’s head filled with a big exclamation mark: ”So, so many Dragonite!”

One, two, three...

Counting the one he just saw, there were actually four Dragonite and five Dragonair on this ranch!

Alder was greatly shocked: ”Those, those Dragonite are your Pokemon?”

Goodness, so many Dragonite!

As far as he knew, even Lance, the Dragon Elite from the Kanto Region, didn’t have that many Dragonite!

”Well, not all of them,” Naoki explained, ”They’re Pokemon I hired; currently working on the ranch, helping deliver orders from customers to the town.”

Though these gluttonous Dragonite certainly had thoughts of becoming his Pokemon...

However, hearing this, Alder’s disbelief only intensified, ”Deliveries?”

”Yes.” Naoki nodded.

Alder was momentarily speechless.

Thinking of the Pokemon he just saw, Naoki clearly wasn’t just an ordinary farmer...
