Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 176: Volume 3, Chapter 55: The Heroic Spirit of the Nation

Under the arrangement of Rahmon Land, Tian Xingjian once again arrived at the secret base of the Freedom Front.

The base always seemed to have only one scene, which was the training of the Freedom Fighters—tough and uninterrupted day after day. When the warriors in training saw Fatty, they all saluted him. Although their expressions were somewhat awkward, their tradition was to worship heroes. For any man stronger than themselves, these Freedom Fighters were never stingy with their respect.

After Tian Xingjian left the base last time, the three guides held a general assembly. They leveraged the momentum created by Fatty to add fuel to the fire, thoroughly reorganizing these fierce and fearless warriors, doing a lot of meticulous ideological work, and pointing out the defects of the Freedom Front. When they showed all of Fatty’s achievements to these Freedom Fighters, every one of them was utterly shocked.

All the warriors had personally experienced Fatty’s combat power, but seeing this guy sneak attack the enemy’s forward base, annihilate a frontline command post, rescue prisoners of war from behind enemy lines, trek deep into the Low Ridge Jungle to snatch Russell from the Mythical Army, and eventually take down Hopkins alone, it was like dancing on the blade of Death’s scythe each time. When the fighters asked themselves if they could accomplish these missions, the answer was unanimous—only certain death!

Apart from these battle feats, Fatty became a disciple of Algarfar not because he had saved Algarfar, but because he twice saw through the Gazalin Empire’s strategic tactics. This directly led to a reversal in the overall battle situation of the Newton Star System and Algarfar’s defection!

When the Freedom Fighters were deeply impressed by Fatty and felt ashamed for their humiliation of such a professional soldier, Sanjad dropped the final bombshell that completely awakened the Freedom Fighters! The list of Fatty’s brilliant achievements was built on twenty-three escapes. His victories were all achieved while on the run!

A mech soldier on a planet full of enemies, relying on the desire to survive and wilderness survival skills, fleeing all the way with no hope of victory or any help, using all his knowledge to gather and modify whatever he could find, struggling to survive again and again from desperate situations. Others might not know what these more than twenty escapes meant to a warrior, but the Freedom Fighters knew—it was a survival far more difficult than death.

The ideological work carried out by the guides ended without a summary; all the summaries were in Fatty’s escape records, and every warrior of the Freedom Front fell into deep thought. The atmosphere of the base changed day by day, no longer oppressive and filled with violence and death. The thick fog that shrouded the warriors’ minds gradually dissipated. They re-recognized their mission and learned anew what it meant to be a true warrior.

So, when Fatty saluted these somewhat blushing and embarrassed Freedom Fighters, what he saw were faces filled with hope. They had begun to become real warriors—disciplined, with a common goal, loving life, and brave and fearless.

Every warrior knew that perhaps they would ultimately sacrifice, but it would no longer be a hopeless death. Instead, they would become nutrients for the blooming flowers of national hope, transforming optimism, positivity, and equality into a spirit that would endure in the hearts of all national warriors. Only in this way was it a true battle, worthy of being a pioneer of the nation.

Fatty never expected that he would lead such a magnificent wave of ideological progress, instantly giving this rogue a sense of grandeur. When he learned from his conversation with the three guides that the ideological work was not over and would be a long-term process, Fatty felt a surge of heroism and shouted, ”Let me add another spark!”

Under the curious gaze of all the Freedom Fighters, Fatty piloted a Mecha and used golden paint to write fourteen glittering characters on the front wall of the base’s largest parade ground under the lights:

”I laugh skyward as I slash with my sword, my guts spilling in Kunlun either way.”

Ancient Earth Han language, one of the foundational languages after the Earth Alliance unified language, had developed over thousands of years. Although not everyone knew all the ancient Han poetry and songs, that did not affect their reading.

The Freedom Fighters murmured this verse, becoming more and more excited and hot-blooded. They finally understood what optimism and positivity meant, what exuberant heroism was, what sacrificing one’s life for righteousness meant, and what iron-blooded romance was! Imagining the fervor of the ancients who wrote this poem, every Freedom Fighter couldn’t help but feel their hearts soar!

Romantic Chinese Nation, iron-blooded Chinese Nation!

Fatty was very proud of his masterpiece and severely despised these guys who had studied Han characters for thousands of years but were still so uncultured. He didn’t know that if any random Han person saw these so-called grand characters he had written, they would probably hack this desecrator of the Chinese nation’s essence to death on the spot.

Leaving behind the highly excited Freedom Fighters, Fatty, and the three guides walked into the conference room. He first reported Russell’s orders to the three. Russell required the Freedom Front to prepare everything and, at an appropriate time, launch attacks according to the steps and plans. The initial stage would mainly target the other three immigrant planets in the Little Pyrenees Star Domain, focusing on the Gazalin Empire’s industrial and energy systems. After the attacks, they should immediately hide, avoiding prolonged battles. The attacks on the three planets must be carried out strictly according to the timeline, ensuring constant disturbances to fully mobilize the Gazalin Empire’s garrison forces.
