Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 161: Volume 3, Chapter 48: Surviving is the True Victory._3

Before he could lift his foot, with a soft ”crack” sound, one of the big man’s arms had already been disarmed by Fatty. The other arm was also twisted by Fatty using grappling techniques, leaving him completely incapacitated. Upon seeing the platoon leader’s sidekick aiming at his face, Fatty pressed down on the big man with both hands and used the force to deliver a powerful kick straight to the platoon leader’s calf.

The platoon leader used the momentum to dodge, his right leg sweeping like a flying iron rod, swift as a shooting star, launching a horizontal kick. Fatty had already released the big man, a glint of sharpness flashing in his eyes, and he mimicked the move, swinging his leg fiercely to clash with the platoon leader’s kick. It was so fierce that the onlookers couldn’t help but look away, their teeth on edge and their spines tingling!

A look of pain flashed across the platoon leader’s face. Gritting his teeth, he delivered another whip kick. Fatty didn’t change his move; he kicked the platoon leader’s calf with an equally vicious whip kick. Both men’s leg skills were top-notch, clashing like two iron rods, extremely fierce. It was painful just to think about it.

This time, the platoon leader couldn’t hold up any longer. His leg could no longer lift, and he collapsed to the ground. Still not satisfied, Fatty kicked the metal rack holding the simulated sniper rifles, breaking two rifles in succession and bending a metal beam.

”Hiss...” The surrounding air was filled with gasps. This seemingly harmless Fatty turned out to be such a formidable character. Damn it, was he even human? Were his legs made of iron or steel? It made people’s scalps tingle!

In the shock, the entire field fell into a deathly silence, and you could hear a pin drop.

Fatty turned his head and swept his gaze over all the Freedom Fighters, smiling as he said, ”I’m just a Fatty, so what?”

Not a single person answered. How could they? Who would dare to mock him, and who had the right to? He had every reason to be arrogant. The Freedom Fighters recalled their teasing and ridicule when they first saw the Fatty and wished they could find a hole to crawl into!

Fatty coldly ordered, ”Assemble!”

The warriors lined up at the fastest speed. Not just them, even the ordinary soldiers who were watching joined the assembly, filling the drill ground with orderly rows.

Fatty’s voice rang out on the ground, ”I understand your mindset, and I know the suffering your nation has endured, but that is no excuse for you to disregard your own life and trample on the dignity of others!”

”In my heart, the Freedom Front consists of a group of steel soldiers with blood and loyalty and iron discipline, not a bunch of nationalistic cowards!”

”Mr. Russell sent me here not to lead you to your deaths! On the battlefield, it’s easy to die, but can your sacrifices win the victory? I’ll tell you now, no! Your sacrifices are meaningless! You think you’re heroes? Bah! Heroes are not people who don’t value their lives or respect others!”

”Did you clearly see the sparring just now? You can call me despicable, shameless, call me a fraud. But those who sparred with me have no right to say that because you’re already dead, and the dead have no right to criticize others. Only the victors, the ones who are alive, have the right to speak!”

”I came here today to tell you one thing: This is not the age of knights, not the age of face-to-face mutual destruction with the enemy. What you need to learn is how to live, a more torturous way to fight and survive! You need to learn how to eliminate the enemy, not how to eliminate yourselves!”

”Those who don’t know how to respect others will not earn any respect. Those who don’t cherish life are unworthy of victory. Look at yourselves. Besides being more fearless of death, what about you resembles a truly brave warrior! Don’t let me laugh at you as cowardly heroes ever again! Dismissed!”

Tian Xingjian turned around with a cold face, flicked his sleeves, and entered the meeting room with the three guides.

Leaving behind a field of shame and introspection.

I’ve given it my all, and I thank everyone for their strong support. By midnight, no matter the result, I am very grateful to you all. Being nine days late and not getting third place can still be considered a noble failure; besides, their work is indeed good.

I’ll give more free content in this Chapter to thank my brothers.

I recommend a good book: ”Legend of the Assassin in Online Games”. Absolutely wonderful, hitting the shelves on October 1st, please support it.
