Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 574 -336: A Brotherhood, A Father and Son

“Alright, I’ll talk to him after the meeting. Should the positions be routed through the media company, the security company, or corporate headquarters?”

Lin Chu considered this for a moment before responding. “The positions will be under headquarters… Pay for the full social insurance package, all insurance policies, everything—at the highest possible rate. Add some extra benefits on top of that. And for every full year of service, each person gets a five-hundred-thousand-yuan settling-in bonus.”

‘Hire in bulk.’

‘Then cultivate a core, elite team from among them.’

Lin Chu wasn’t quite sure how to describe the company’s current business model. It was something like a conglomerate, but for now, this was the only way. First, they had to solve the immediate problems, then they could gradually optimize.

“Got it. That’s a really generous compensation package. No more questions from me. I bet people will be fighting tooth and nail for these spots.”

Zhang Peng said with a smile. He had always known that Lin Chu was never one to be stingy with money.

Especially at such a critical moment.

“Old Gao, on your end, you need to press on with the construction. Don’t stop. We’re expanding on all fronts right now. Also… that matter I spoke to you about before, you need to accelerate the timeline and get things moving.”

Lin Chu added, though he didn’t elaborate.

However, Gao Haitao quickly understood. Lin Chu had previously mentioned going to war-torn lands to adopt and train children from a young age. A matter like that, all the more reason not to publicize it.

He gave a steady nod. “Alright, I understand. No problems on my end. The construction timeline is about six months. Also, I’ve been in talks with some certified companies these past two days to buy a few planes. They’ll always come in handy.”

“Buy them. Buy several!”

Lin Chu said with a laugh, though he was grumbling internally again. ‘The Gulfstream Company is so slow. The private jet still isn’t finished. All I can do is wait.’

After they finished talking business…

He shot the shit with his brothers for a while longer, had a few drinks over the video call, made some small talk, and then they hung up.

…

「Back in China.」

「Longwei Village.」

The newly rebuilt Lin Family Ancestral Hall was finally complete. With its carved beams and painted rafters, it was a work of exquisite beauty.

Having spent several million on it, Lin Haifu could finally hold his head high.

At over fifty years old, it was the first time he had ever felt so distinguished.

Lately, whenever anyone in Longwei Village or the surrounding areas brought up the Lin family, they would say the family’s ancestors must be smiling down on them.

He hadn’t realized it until he started looking into it, but the results were shocking.

After tracing his lineage, Lin Haifu tallied up all his close and distant relatives and was astonished to discover just how many there were.

In that time, quite a few people had shown up at his door, looking for a job or a path to riches, begging him to give them a hand.

A poor man in a bustling city goes unknown, but a rich man in the deep mountains has distant relatives.

Human nature had always been this way.

He wasn’t a petty man, however. He possessed a kind of rustic generosity and believed that where people gather, wealth follows. If he could help someone, he would. He had casually given away hundreds of thousands to those in genuine trouble, earning himself an excellent reputation.

Of course, Old Lin had no patience for the lazy freeloaders. He’d lost his temper with one at the dinner table once, and before he even had to lift a finger, a group of his old buddies had collectively given the man a beating.

The police showed up, but the medical bills were paid and the matter was settled privately.

Amid his good reputation, an air of menace now lingered.

But the thing that troubled him most was, naturally, his son.

As for the trouble abroad, Old Lin didn’t know how to get past the internet firewall and didn’t want to ask anyone for help. So, he’d secretly stay up at night, fiddling with his computer and phone, and after looking a lot of things up, he had managed to get a rough idea of what was going on.

His son… was in trouble.

And it was abroad.

He kept this to himself, telling no one. He just stewed on it alone.

He had stopped drinking the past few days, but his smoking had gotten heavier and heavier.

Late one night, after the last of the drinking guests had left, Lin Haifu went up to the third floor. Since returning to the country, Jiang Ya hadn’t gone back to school, instead choosing to stay with the Lin Family. In Lin Haifu’s mind, he had long since come to see her as his daughter-in-law.

“Yaya, Dad needs to ask you something.”

After knocking and entering her room, Lin Haifu didn’t even sit down. He stood in the doorway, asking with a hint of nervousness.

Jiang Ya had already given her father-in-law a general overview of what happened abroad, but she hadn’t gone into detail. Lin Chu had instructed her not to say too much—it wouldn’t help, and it would only make his father worry for nothing.

“Dad, please, sit down. Let’s talk sitting down.”

“I won’t sit. I just have a couple of questions. If I wanted to go abroad right now, could I? Is it a lot of trouble? I hear you need a passport and all that. If I can’t get one, would it be possible to get smuggled out?”

The old man frowned as he spoke, subconsciously reaching for his cigarettes. His fingers found the pack, but he hesitated and didn’t pull one out.

Hearing this, Jiang Ya didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Yet, her heart ached for him.

He only had one son, and that son had gotten into such huge trouble. During the day, in front of others, he was always so domineering and tough. But at night, he seemed so helpless and pitiful.

“It’s alright. He’ll handle things. You wouldn’t be able to help even if you went. Hasn’t Brother Chu called you?”

For a moment, Jiang Ya didn’t know how to console him.

At the mention of this, Lin Haifu grew even more agitated.

For something this huge to have happened, and that little brat hadn’t even called… The worry in his heart grew even heavier.

‘He even suspected his son might have already been captured.’

‘Of course, that was the worst-case scenario. It probably hadn’t come to that. With how clever his son was, he should have been able to get away, right?’

Over the past two days, Lin Haifu had even converted a large amount of cash into gold bars. He had already pictured the scene: his son sneaking back in the middle of the night, saying he had to go on the run. He’d have the gold bars ready for him. If his son really had to run, then he’d run. ‘A living man isn’t going to let himself be choked to death by his own piss, is he?’
