Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 554: Chapter 327: Cover Identity, National Gift Porcelain, Hard Currency, Bargaining Chips, Bait

A smile appeared on Lin Chu’s lips as he looked at the email.

’The identity is sorted.’

Although this kind of identity was just part of the overt rules, it wasn’t as practical as the covert ones.

If someone wanted to tear it up and resort to force, there was nothing he could do.

But at the end of the day, it was a cover. He’d put it on for now and see what happened.

Even if the overt rules weren’t that solid, they were still part of the rules.

”Good. Thanks for your hard work. Nicely done. Next, I’ll have to trouble you to get a legal team sorted out. Spare no expense, at any cost.”

Lin Chu typed out a reply, lit a cigarette, and exhaled a long plume of smoke.

’Things are starting to look up,’ he thought. ’It’s all coming together, step by step, just as I planned.’

Liu Junfeng hadn’t replied yet.

Gao Haitao’s email was a report, so Lin Chu didn’t bother replying. He went back to browsing other content on the dark web.

He had never really known much about the dark web before.

He’d been curious, but saw no need to look into it.

It was like a city’s sewer system. Every city has one, but that doesn’t mean you need to go crawling down into it yourself.

But now, he was in the sewer himself, so there was no harm in taking a look around.

’It doesn’t matter if a cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice.’ Even things that just helped catch the mice could be considered good cats.

In 2011, a genius programmer named Williams created the Silk Road website using self-taught coding skills. He founded the site by leveraging the decentralized and untraceable nature of blockchain, creating what could be called a dark version of Taobao.

Transactions on the site were conducted with Bitcoin, and the website took a cut of 8-15% from each one. Its commission income alone exceeded one billion USD a year.

A character like that could truly be considered a legend.

Anyway, the methods for making big money weren’t always completely white or completely black. Most of the time, they existed in a gray area.

By now, you could find anything and everything on there. It was like a seedy black market, a parallel world on the internet.

As long as you had the money, you could buy anything.

Including... a life.

”There’s just so much darkness and evil in this world...”

He was browsing aimlessly when, driven by morbid curiosity, he came across a gory video and casually commented to Liu Chenhui.

The video was so bad it made him feel physically ill.

’Chatting with a living person might help ease the feeling a bit.’

”Yeah, Brother Chu, but it’s still very safe back home in our country... What are you looking at?”

Liu Chenhui replied casually and came over to take a look. When he saw the scene in the video, his brow furrowed slightly. ”Animals! There are more and more of these animals lately!”

Lin Chu nodded.

’There’s a lot of true evil in this world,’ Lin Chu thought, ’even more evil than I could have imagined.’

’Let’s be real, what I’ve done is nothing compared to this.’

”It’s like that saying you see online: you don’t live in a peaceful era, you just live in a peaceful country.”

”If you ask me, Brother Chu, if you have solid connections in the Middle East, you should seek protection there directly. To them, what we did before is really just small stuff. So small it’s insignificant.”

Liu Chenhui said with a sigh, then suddenly offered another suggestion.

Lin Chu looked at him curiously. ”Hm? What do you mean?”

Ah Hui had grown up abroad and was barely restricted by the information firewall. The information he knew and followed in certain fields might not be any less than Lin Chu’s own.

”It’s all about money. Money is truth, money is justice. The methods they use over there are the epitome of deterrence. The big shots all look glamorous on the surface, but it’s a different story behind the scenes. You can look it up if you don’t believe me.”

”Oh, right! I just saw a news story. That big shot from the crypto world, Zhao Peng, didn’t he get arrested before? Now he’s out of a prison in the United States and immediately flew to live in Dubai. I heard that even though he paid a ransom of nearly ten billion US dollars, it was worth it. He’s so rich, that amount of money is nothing to him.”

Liu Chenhui provided another piece of information.

He had just seen it in the news.

For the truly top-tier global tycoons, no trouble was unexpected, and they always had a way to solve it.

It was all just a game.

A game came down to two things:

One, what resources you had.

And two, how much damage you could cause.

All problems were simply a matter of weighing costs and benefits.

Lin Chu looked at him thoughtfully and nodded. ”Okay, I’ll look into it.”

He really did lack knowledge about these things. Suddenly, he felt he had been a bit too ”conservative.”

’Of course,’ he thought, ’my overall judgment isn’t wrong. It’s just that in practice, my methods aren’t wild enough.’

’Tsk, what a surreal world.’

”Okay, you take a look first and think it over. By the way, I just had another idea. There’s this thing called National Gift Porcelain, which represents national friendship. I think only two or three pieces exist right now. I don’t know if it’s possible to buy one, but if you could, that would absolutely be a great path to take. At least then we wouldn’t have to worry about anything back home. If we really ran into danger, we could ask the country for help. Wouldn’t the country have to protect us then?”

Liu Chenhui added in a low voice.

Lin Chu glanced at him, his eyes brightening as a smile touched his lips. ”Hm? This... How come I get the feeling you were playing dumb before? You’re actually pretty smart...”

Even he had never thought of that.

He hadn’t even considered that angle at all.

But without a doubt, it would work. It would absolutely work.

After all, the nation’s credibility was on the line.

This was far more effective than building some network of connections back home.

Liu Chenhui scratched his head, embarrassed. ”Haha, why would I need to pretend? You’re the one who overthinks things. I don’t think that much, I just focus on how to get things done...”
