Reborn As Super Heiress

Su Anning is now so anxious that she doesn’t know what to do. She didn’t steal this woman’s wallet, let alone transfer the money inside. How is she supposed to find money to repay the woman?

However, if the situation isn’t resolved immediately, it might attract even more people to watch, which would be even worse for her.

Su Anning’s eyes darted around and suddenly she thought of something. She lifted her head and said to the pretty woman:

”Sister, I genuinely can’t come up with the two thousand plus yuan right now. How about this—I have these earrings which are silver-inlaid jade, with glass-type jadeite embedded inside. Although they are leftover pieces, they’re still worth a good amount, certainly enough to cover the two thousand plus yuan. What do you think?”

Saying this, Su Anning directly reached out and took off the pair of earrings she was wearing, and then handed them to the pretty woman.

Upon hearing the word ”jadeite,” the pretty woman’s heart was immediately moved, with a hint of joy flashing in her eyes.

However, her face showed hesitation, looking quite troubled as she glanced at Su Anning and didn’t immediately reach out to take the earrings.

Su Anning originally thought this would solve the problem, but unexpectedly, the next moment that man snorted coldly and said directly:

”What glass-type jadeite? How could a thief wear something so valuable? I think this is just something to fool people, probably worth a few yuan on a street stall. You’re calling this jadeite, worth thousands? You’re treating us all like fools!”

Listening to the man’s words, Su Anning was immediately dumbfounded, her face turning pale in an instant. These earrings were given to her by Huo Sining, and they were definitely glass-type jadeite products. Although Su Anning didn’t ask about the exact price, anything Huo Sining casually gave as a gift wouldn’t be cheap trash.

But this man had clearly decided that the pair of earrings she produced was fake, leaving Su Anning both aggrieved and furious. Unable to resist, she looked up at the man and angrily said:

”Then what exactly do you want?”

The man’s gaze swept over Su Anning a few times, suddenly noticing the thin chain around her neck, he chuckled and said:

”I don’t recognize any glass-type jadeite, and I think many present here don’t understand it either, but I do know gold. I see the thin chain around your neck looks genuine, although judging by its content and texture, it’s probably worth about a thousand at most. How about this, beauty, make a little compromise; let this little girl use the chain on her neck as compensation, what do you think?”

The pretty woman glanced at the chain on Su Anning’s neck and slightly frowned, then shrugged a bit helplessly and nodded:

”I don’t really like such vulgar gold jewelry; if I take it back, I’ll probably have to exchange it for something else at a gold shop. But I don’t want to hang around here anymore, so let’s call it a deal, and this matter ends here.”

The woman appeared somewhat reluctant. Seeing this, the man quickly turned back to glare at Su Anning:

”What are you standing there for? This beauty is being generous by allowing you to use this broken chain for compensation. Hurry up and give it to her before she changes her mind, or she might get upset and directly call the police. Then you’ll be in big trouble, young lady!”

Su Anning was now sensing something was amiss, looking at the man and woman with suspicion in her eyes.

She felt that these two were cooperating in a double act, not like two strangers on the street, rather as if they had rehearsed this beforehand.

Moreover, this man was actually focusing on the chain around her neck.

Others may not know the value of this chain, but Su Anning knows it well; the chain was a birthday gift that her uncle Liu Pengcheng specially picked for her eighteenth birthday.

The chain comes from the hand of a true master, moreover, at the end of the chain hangs an extremely transparent and delicate mutton-fat jade Maitreya Buddha. Although the Maitreya Buddha is only the size of a thumb, its value is very high.

Even her grandfather was angry with Uncle Liu when he saw this gift, scolding him for spending too much money on an expensive gift for her, saying it was too extravagant.

However, Su Anning genuinely liked the pendant at first sight, wearing it ever since without taking it off, feeling her health improved significantly after wearing the chain, thus cherishing it even more.

Now this man was asking her to give up the chain as compensation to the woman, leaving Su Anning both shocked and angry. She instinctively reached out to block her neck, glaring angrily and saying:

”You wish! I will never give you this chain, so you better give up!”

Seeing this, the man rejoiced inwardly. He initially thought the chain around the girl’s neck looked exquisite and pretty, likely worth a good amount of money, and now seeing the young girl’s reaction, he felt even more confident about his guess. Greed flashed in his eyes, and of course, he wasn’t willing to easily give up now.

His gaze swept over the surrounding crowd, unable to resist saying:

”Seeing how easily you handed over those earrings just now, yet defending this gold chain so stubbornly now, it seems my guess was correct. The earrings are fakes while the chain around your neck is genuine, no wonder you’re so tense, afraid I might take it by force!”

”Young girl, here’s the real situation: I’m helping you. This beauty has had money stolen by you. Without compensating her with something of equal value, you might end up in jail! It doesn’t matter if I give up or not; the key point is whether the beauty wants to press charges on you.”

”If you’re really reluctant to part with the chain, then you can take out two thousand two hundred yuan to compensate her. Then this matter will be resolved nicely! But can you provide that amount now?”

Hearing the man’s words, those around also couldn’t help but criticize Su Anning:

”This girl is really treating us like fools. Giving fake earrings and getting nervous when asked for the real gold chain. A clever scheme indeed!”

”Little girl, stop trying to stand your ground, just give her the chain. If the matter gets reported to the police, you’ll suffer!”

”Exactly, at this point, why keep resisting? They’re only asking for a chain worth barely more than a thousand, which is actually quite generous!”
