Reborn As Super Heiress

Gu Xu was practically dancing with excitement, on the verge of jumping up.

The news the little chubby girl told him had thrilled him beyond belief.

Ever since he found out his wife was pregnant, he had been hoping for a daughter, and he was awestruck by how nature catered to his wish, actually gifting him a daughter.

This meant that the nursery he set up for his daughter would finally have a purpose!

As for a son, it’s better to raise them with a rougher edge, so he figured any room upstairs would be enough for the boy to live in.

At this moment, the little guy in Huo Sining’s belly seemed to sense something unusual and instinctively moved inside his mother’s womb.

However, the fetus was still so tiny at that time that even if it moved, the mother wouldn’t feel a thing.

Huo Sining looked at her belly with some worry; even though she knew she was carrying one boy and one girl, she couldn’t find joy in it.

This pregnancy was just too strange and embarrassing, especially with the boy, who somehow learned to become invisible even when he was the size of a peanut, so much so that even the hospital check-ups couldn’t detect it.

Huo Sining was deeply concerned now, unsure of what the situation would be when these two children were born.

On one hand, she worried that the two children might grow quickly in a few short months, causing her belly to inflate like a balloon—it would become impossible to keep it a secret then. But since everyone knows her situation from the hospital check-ups, what would she say if an extra child showed up?

On the other hand, now that she knew these children weren’t from the same origin, having never been pregnant with Jiaoren, yet from what she heard from Yan Feng and Su Lan, she herself had hatched from an egg, with the Blue Fatty being the best proof.

Jiaoren were birthed from eggs, not live births, so the Jiaoren fetus in her belly must also be an egg. If the hospital’s equipment somehow detected it, she really wouldn’t know what to say.

The doctors might even deem her a monster and cart her off to a research facility for dissection.

Huo Sining was, ironically, somewhat grateful that her son was smart enough to become invisible, keeping the doctors from discovering anything amiss. Otherwise, her secret would have been exposed.

Yet, hiding it from those doctors is only a temporary solution. As her belly continues to grow, there will come a time when it won’t be possible to hide any longer.

Also, who knows how long she has to carry this egg? If one fetus is born while the other remains in her womb, that would be a massive breach of normalcy.

Huo Sining felt a deep distress; she decided it better not to go for any prenatal check-ups in the future since she had Azure Pearl’s support, ensuring no harm would come.

But she was extremely concerned about what to do when it’s time for the delivery: if the obstetrician in the maternity ward ends up delivering an egg from her belly, then the situation would get considerably complicated.

After his moment of excitement, Gu Xu began to calm down.

With a clear head, a question quickly surfaced in his mind, prompting him to lift his head and look at his wife: ”Honey, these two kids, are they going to be born at the same time?”

Huo Sining looked at Gu Xu with a bitter smile, clearly conveying her message.

This is my first pregnancy too; it’s the first time I’ve encountered such a case of non-identical twins. How would I know whether these kids will be born at the same time? You’re asking the wrong person!

Only then did Gu Xu realize the seriousness of the issue.

If the kids were to be born simultaneously, deciding whether to go to the hospital and whether to have an obstetrician at the delivery posed a question, because his wife might give birth to a baby girl and an egg at the same time!

If they weren’t born together, that would be another problem. If the daughter is born while the egg remains inside, having just delivered, she’d be left with a big belly, which might become a big news story and potentially attract unwelcome scientific attention!

No matter how he thought about it, it always seemed to be an issue!

Gu Xu’s expression instantly turned serious as he stared intently at his wife’s belly, his eyebrows tightly knitted.

The little chubby girl observing this found it rather amusing:

”What’s there to worry about? The hallmark of egg-laying is external incubation. Your belly, as balloon-like as it is this early, isn’t because of the baby girl but due to the Jiaoren fetus.”

”Take good care of yourself for the next few months, and within half a year, that egg will come out, and your belly will return to a size typical of a normal pregnancy.”

”As for when the little guy will hatch, I have no idea. There’s no set period for Jiaoren eggs to hatch—some take a year, while others remain dormant for several years or even decades, so no one can say for sure.”

Upon hearing these words, Huo Sining became somewhat bewildered, suddenly remembering that the little girl had been extracted from Jadeite. If she hadn’t rescued that little girl, the Blue Fatty might still be in slumber.

”As long as they don’t happen simultaneously, it will save a lot of trouble. We can then go to the hospital for a check-up after the egg is out. Meanwhile, you can’t attend school during this period. I think we should go to the Imperial Capital, try not to interact with people too much, and avoid anyone noticing your belly’s peculiarity—that would be troublesome.”

Gu Xu suggested.

Huo Sining, hearing Gu Xu’s suggestion, found it reasonable. With her belly’s bulging impression, it would be hard to hide anything. If someone did notice and started unnecessary rumors, it would be unpleasant. Although Huo Sining didn’t think this situation would cause her much harm, she’d experienced the horror of public opinion enough to know she should take caution where necessary.

Thinking this way, Gu Xu had no plans to delay further and went downstairs to explain the situation to Huang Hongying, mentioning the anomalies in Huo Sining’s pregnancy, and expressed that he’d feel more assured going to the Imperial Capital. Yulong Mountain nearby had high-level special care and obstetric experts; he planned to take Huo Sining for a check-up there, possibly remaining for recuperation.

Huang Hongying, of course, knew what Yulong Mountain was—a place only accessible to significant national leaders and their families, a site not even Master Huang and Su Zhenhua could enter, highlighting how advanced its medical facilities and technology must be.

This being the case, Huang Hongying had not the slightest doubt regarding Gu Xu’s words, and instead was fully supportive:

”Go ahead, child’s matters are paramount; you can’t be too careful. Go there to get checked, find the root of the problem, and then address it properly.”

Gu Xu could see that Huo Sining’s distant cousin truly cared for his wife. If it weren’t necessary, he would not have wanted to deceive Huang Hongying, but given the extraordinary circumstances, extraordinary measures were needed; the fact his wife was pregnant with Jiaoren had to remain a secret known only to him and the little chubby girl.
