Reborn As Super Heiress

Gu Xu’s eyes crinkled into a foxy smile: ”It’s definitely a daughter, I have a strong feeling, and this daughter will surely look like you!”

Huo Sining secretly grumbled in her heart, if you can predict that, wouldn’t it mean those unethical doctors wouldn’t need to secretly determine the baby’s sex for pregnant women?

But while thinking this, Huo Sining’s face still radiated a joyous and sweet smile.

She understood what Gu Xu meant; this guy felt regretful about not knowing her for the past eighteen years, so he wanted to make up for those lost years, hence he was so eager to have a daughter who resembled her.

However, for some reason, Huo Sining felt a vague sense of unease, suspecting that this child might not turn out as Gu Xu hoped.

Of course, Huo Sining dared not voice this thought now; partly for fear of dampening Gu Xu’s initial excitement of becoming a father, and partly because the notion was just a fleeting thought without basis.

Instinctively, Huo Sining touched her still-flat belly, thinking about the child currently growing inside—a crystallization of her and Gu Xu’s love. Just the thought made the corners of Huo Sining’s eyes soften involuntarily.

Returning to the villa, Huo Sining announced her pregnancy, and everyone including Yue Shuwen was thrilled. Especially Qibao, who circled around Huo Sining several times, eager to lift her clothes and dive headfirst towards her belly.

Huo Sining became a bit dizzy from Qibao’s spinning, and Gu Xu hurriedly pulled Qibao away, carefully helping Huo Sining sit on the sofa.

Huo Sining was amused and exasperated by Gu Xu’s anxious demeanor, but no matter what she said, he wouldn’t listen.

Yue Shuwen couldn’t help but laugh seeing Gu Xu’s behavior: ”Master Gu, isn’t it exciting to learn you’re going to be a father, restless enough to lose sleep tonight? I mean, do you really need to be this nervous? It’s just a bunch of cells, is it really that fragile?”

Gu Xu looked at the mischievous Qibao and nodded solemnly: ”He is, Qibao doesn’t know his own strength; what if he injures the baby?”

Yue Shuwen rolled her eyes at Gu Xu’s serious manner.

Seeing Yue Shuwen’s reaction, Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh too: ”This is nothing! The whole way back, his speed didn’t exceed forty kilometers per hour. I can’t imagine how many drivers cursed him behind the wheel, honking non-stop, and this guy didn’t speed up but went even slower. Those drivers behind must have thought they encountered a lunatic, sticking their heads out when overtaking us to have a closer look at our car.”

Yue Shuwen imagined a Maybach worth millions, crawling like a snail at forty kilometers per hour on the road, with a long line of cars choosing to overtake, ready to curse as they passed. To their surprise, the car leading the blockade was a top-class luxury car, causing those prepared to swear to swallow their words and instead gaze at the Maybach driver with the eyes usually reserved for watching idiots.

You bet, a Maybach off-road vehicle capable of speeding from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.78 seconds was dawdling at forty kilometers per hour on the street; such oddity is truly baffling.

The owners of luxury cars usually speed along the roads to attract attention with their pace and appearance. This Maybach owner, however, drives leisurely like a lord; is he doing a square dance or practicing Tai Chi?

As Huo Sining recounted the amusing events on the way back with Gu Xu, not just Yue Shuwen but even Zhong Xiaoyao giggled.

Qibao, on the other hand, didn’t understand what the adults found funny; he was more interested in when Huo Sining’s baby would come out to play with him:

”Sister, when will the little sister be born? Can she hear me now?”

Huo Sining chuckled, patting Qibao’s head: ”The little sister is only the size of a fingernail right now, not grown enough to hear Qibao speaking. It’ll be five or six months before she can listen, and even longer before she’s born; Qibao will have to wait nine months.”

Upon hearing he would have to wait nine months, Qibao was a bit disappointed at first but soon recovered, looking at Huo Sining with expectation: ”Will the little sister like me? Will she want to play with me?”

Huo Sining nodded sincerely: ”She will, definitely. With Uncle Qibao being so well-behaved and sensible, the little sister will surely like him. Then Qibao can teach her to read and write as a good role model!”

Qibao was instantly overjoyed: ”That’s wonderful! The little sister will definitely like me and won’t be like that little chubby girl who only knows how to bully!”

The ”little chubby girl” Qibao referred to was undoubtedly Blue Fatty, and seeing the aggrieved ”little wife” expression on Qibao’s face made it clear to Huo Sining that during their time at the Gu Family’s old house, this little guy was certainly bullied by Blue Fatty.

”What happened?” Huo Sining looked up at Yue Shuwen.

Yue Shuwen shook her head: ”I don’t know, I just got back too; ask Xiao Yao.”

Zhong Xiaoyao saw the situation, pursed his lips, and made a few gestures with a smile, which made Huo Sining instantly understand.

It turned out Blue Fatty, having broken out of her eggshell, fell in love with watching TV and playing on the computer. These things were prepared in each room by Huo Sining, except for Blue Fatty, who emerged unexpectedly. She hadn’t had the chance to equip a room for her and had thrown the little one into the nursery.

Blue Fatty, being no infant, didn’t like the kids’ playroom at all. She didn’t express it in front of Huo Sining, but as soon as Huo Sining left, she dashed straight to Qibao’s room, falling for the oversized TV screen and computer, and with a thundering boom, scared Qibao out of the room as if his tail was on fire.

The little chubby girl, realizing Qibao’s retreat, took over his room, not intending to return it.

Knowing the little chubby girl’s might, Qibao dared not argue, resignedly sulking on the living room sofa.

The art of bullying the weak while fearing the strong—the little chubby girl probably knew she couldn’t match up against Zhong Xiaoyao or Yue Shuwen, so she picked on the softer ones. Qibao, unfortunately, couldn’t contend with her, allowing the little chubby girl to show off, reigning over him in the household.
