Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1293: Chapter 1289: The Calculated Scheme

Yet Wang Zhongwei was thinking to himself, maintaining a cordial demeanor:

”A Wen, I won’t beat around the bush with you. That piece is obviously a good item. Without at least ten million, neither you nor I need to get involved. You must have seen, there are seven or eight Xiangjiang fellows surrounding it, all wealthy folks, they are sure to get that material.”

Wang Kaiwen said nothing. Even before meeting Huo Sining, he hesitated to buy that piece of glass type. He didn’t know why, but he always felt uneasy, feeling something strange about that material. Hearing Huo Sining drop some hints made him even more certain about his hunch.

Of course, he wouldn’t share these thoughts with Wang Zhongwei, especially considering the tricks his uncle had played on him earlier, not to mention the grudges between Huo Sining and his uncle. If he really let this slip out, Huo Sining might resent him for it.

Offending Huo Sining, would she help him with anything in the future?

Wang Kaiwen wasn’t stupid, he still hoped to get close to Huo Sining, to see if he could invite her to help gamble on a few more pieces. How could he be so blind to offend Huo Sining for an uncle he’s almost severed ties with?

However, Wang Kaiwen staying silent didn’t mean Boss Qi would willingly give up. Boss Qi had long been impatient and upon hearing Wang Zhongwei’s words, became even more unable to contain himself: ”Boss Wang, you’re an experienced one, surely you have a way. What do you suggest we do?”

Wang Zhongwei was waiting for Boss Qi to say this. Seeing Boss Qi open his mouth to inquire, he squinted his eyes and said with a smile, ”I’m planning to bid, but unfortunately, Zhong Yuejin and I are short of funds, barely able to gather four million. If you also want to buy, why don’t we pool our resources together? Whoever contributes the most can take the majority. What do you think?”

Wang Zhongwei is a shrewd man, of course he could gather more money. But since this glass piece is only partially unrevealed semi-gamble rough material, no one can guarantee the crack wouldn’t ruin it. As long as there’s any chance it could be ruined, he needs to leave himself a way out.

Wang Zhongwei saying he and Zhong Yuejin could only gather four million means the rest of the money must come from Wang Kaiwen and Boss Qi, leaving most of the risk to them, while he and Zhong Yuejin just follow on to reap rewards.

Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin had their clever plan, but Wang Kaiwen and Boss Qi may not be easily fooled.

Upon hearing Liu Hesheng’s remark, Boss Qi realized the old fox was scheming against him.

Boss Qi, having been in the rough material business for so many years, was not easily fooled and couldn’t help but coldly snicker: ”If I can contribute the rest, why care about the extra four million from Boss Wang and Boss Zhong? Did you really think I was so dumb I couldn’t see through such a petty scheme?”

Wang Zhongwei hadn’t expected Boss Qi to change faces so quickly: ”Boss Qi, how can you say that? I’m just discussing it with you! Isn’t it good for everyone to make money together?”

”Enough. Don’t say any more, I’m tired of this. This is a good deal, find someone else to partner with. We won’t participate. It’s our fate whether we can get that rough material or not, success or failure has nothing to do with you!”

Seeing they wanted to scheme against him, Boss Qi certainly wouldn’t foolishly continue this partnership, promptly waved them off, couldn’t bother to spare Liu Hesheng another glance.

Watching Boss Qi leave, Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin suddenly became anxious: ”A Wen, what kind of friends did you bring? Working together to spread risk isn’t good? What’s wrong with this person...”

Hearing Wang Zhongwei still criticizing Boss Qi, Wang Kaiwen finally laughed out of anger, since he was worried about finding a way out, now he could take advantage of Old Qi’s rebellion and smoothly exit:

”Uncle, I’m not sure about this piece either. Besides, I’m short on funds lately, and now that Old Qi isn’t betting, I won’t get involved either. If you fancy this piece, I’ll leave it to you.”

With that, Wang Kaiwen didn’t wait for Wang Zhongwei’s reaction and immediately turned to chase after Boss Qi.

The bidding had already reached nine million, slowing down. The increments of ten thousand and twenty thousand had reduced, becoming three thousand and five thousand. Many jade shop owners were discussing pooling funds to buy collectively, Zhong Zifan and Liao Song waited patiently for their discussions to conclude.

Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin’s plans fell through but they didn’t give up, soon finding another partner, the three of them pooled their resources and decided to each contribute four million to secure that piece.

After four or five minutes, someone called out, ”Nine hundred fifty thousand!”

Suddenly increasing by fifty thousand, many who were just observing couldn’t contain themselves.

”Nine hundred eighty thousand!” ”One million!” ”One million twenty thousand!”

...

When Zhong Zifan and Liao Song heard from Huo Sining that there was a real issue with that rough material, they were quite worried, fearing no one would take it. Now seeing the bids reach over a million, their hearts tightened, fearing any mishap.

While they worried, Wang Zhongwei, Zhong Yuejin, and their new partner had signed the agreement and returned, just to hear someone bid one million twenty thousand. Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin exchanged glances, looked at their respective agreements, and felt reassured.

Already signaled, the new partner took over for Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin, leisurely calling out, ”One million fifty thousand!”

After the rough material trader bid, he didn’t forget to provocatively glare at the person who had just bid one million twenty thousand.

That person, being a hot-blooded young man, already felt discontent towards the jadeite, upon provocation, couldn’t hold back, and shouted:

”One million one hundred thousand!”

Seeing the opponent raise the bid by fifty thousand, the rough material trader was startled, feeling unsure and instinctively looked toward Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin behind him.

Since their budget was one million two hundred thousand, with only a hundred thousand difference now, if the young man kept raising the bid, they might not secure the rough material at all.

Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin’s faces didn’t look good, but with things at this stage, they wouldn’t just retreat, unwilling to do so. Wang Zhongwei steeled his resolve, couldn’t bother consulting with the partner, and directly shouted, ”One million two hundred thousand!”
