Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1288: Chapter 1284: Familiar Faces

After the dark auction ended, there was still a three-day bright auction. Huo Sining had delayed a day in Mizhi searching for a mineral vein for Badasang, so after rushing back to Yangon, she started getting busy again.

Of course, because she gambled on a riverbed jade mine, her plans in Yangon changed. Originally, she intended to buy raw materials from the native villages in Yangon after the stone gambling public sale ended. But since she was now collaborating with Badasang, she no longer had to worry about sourcing, so there was no need to be so rushed and exhausted.

However, Huo Sining had not put aside the idea of gambling on rough stones in the Bright Bid Area. Although she already had quite a few dark auction raw materials, since she was in Yangon, she naturally wanted to gamble to her heart’s content.

So, early this morning, she brought Su Qingqing and the others to the trading center.

The last time Huo Sining was in the Bright Bid Area, she didn’t see many raw materials. This time, as soon as she entered, she noticed a new change in the bid area. In the central square, more than ten stone cutting machines had been set up. Some gamblers who won bids were impatiently lining up in front of the machines, ready to cut their stones.

As Huo Sining and her group entered the square, they saw it was crowded with people, and occasional voices of awe or regret came from within the crowd.

Huo Sining had no intention of squeezing in to watch the excitement. She was about to lead Bai Yishan and the others to select raw materials when, suddenly, someone across from them cried out in surprise, ”Miss Huo!”

Huo Sining looked up at the person and was stunned.

It was actually Wang Kaiwen, whom she had encountered when she accompanied Luo Jinzhi to Mindong before.

Remembering this, Huo Sining suddenly recalled that last summer, she had accompanied Wang Kaiwen to gamble on raw materials at Boss Qi’s warehouse. At that time, Wang Kaiwen did mention wanting to participate in the Myanmar public jadeite auction.

However, since Huo Sining wasn’t familiar with Wang Kaiwen and because she was representing Qin Lianshan this time, she couldn’t call on others, so she hadn’t contacted Wang Kaiwen.

Unexpectedly, they met again in the Bright Bid Area.

Perhaps hearing Wang Kaiwen’s shout, a middle-aged man next to him also turned around, ”Miss Huo, long time no see, haha, didn’t expect to meet here!”

The speaker was Boss Qi himself. Because last time, Huo Sining helped Wang Kaiwen successfully gamble a piece of rough material at his place, Boss Qi was well aware of Huo Sining’s abilities. Seeing her appear, his eyes immediately flashed with eagerness, looking at her warmly:

”Miss Huo is here for stone gambling too, I presume? How was your gain from the dark auction the day before yesterday?”

Huo Sining smiled, ”Just for fun, I wouldn’t say there were any gains. I’ve been here for a week, and haven’t cut a single piece yet.”

This was indeed true. Most of the raw materials Huo Sining bought were sent back home by Badasang, and not a single piece had been cut because she was confident that every piece she selected would result in a profit.

Currently, Huo Sining’s reputation was too prominent, and it was best to avoid standing out. Continuously profiting in Yangon wasn’t necessarily a good thing for her.

Boss Qi didn’t mind her response. He smiled and pointed to the stone cutting machines behind him, ”Why doesn’t Miss Huo try cutting one today?”

Huo Sining smiled and neither agreed nor disagreed, ”One must pick suitable raw materials first, even immortals can’t predict jade’s value. I’m new here and don’t quite know the situation yet.”

With that, Huo Sining prepared to call Su Qingqing and the others to select raw materials in the Bright Bid Area.

Unexpectedly, just then, sounds of surprise and commotion came from the stone cutting area.

”The first cut showed promising results!”

Huo Sining wasn’t particularly affected by this first cut, but Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan got interested. Without a word, they dragged Huo Sining into the crowd, urging, ”Come on, let’s check it out!”

Huo Sining staggered a few steps under their pull, feeling a bit helpless. She quickly turned back to Gu Xu, Ouyang Jun, and the others, motioning them to follow along.

”Damn, if I knew it would rise, I would have bought it!”

”With such a big crack, you’d dare buy it? It wasn’t bought for eight bucks; the guy spent eight hundred thousand on it!”

”Exactly, this is just the first cut, and it hasn’t reached the crack side yet. So far, it’s only showing a thumb-sized green patch. Who knows if there’s real jade inside or it’s just skin-deep?”

Voices murmured among the crowd, with more people surrounding the stone cutting machine, packing tightly without a gap. Su Qingqing peered in from outside for a while, finding it impossible to get in and unable to see what’s happening inside, she became anxious and started pacing around.

Seeing this, Huo Sining shook her head and turned towards the Bright Bid Area.

With the mine in Mizhi as a base, Huo Sining wasn’t in a rush at the Bright Bid Area this time. With a mindset of just having fun, she wandered around the venue, looking rather indifferent.

After stopping at several booths, she finally found an egg white kind barely catching her interest, but Huo Sining wasn’t surprised.

The auction had been going on for over a week, so by now, most of the better-performing materials had been picked over, and the remaining ones were of a lower quality, reducing the chances of scoring a profit.

Holding the piece she just bought, Huo Sining wasn’t planning to join in the chaos at the stone cutting machines. She went around other booths, but this time found nothing satisfactory. After checking over ten booths, she couldn’t find a single piece she liked.

It wasn’t that none of the materials could yield jadeite; rather, Huo Sining’s taste had become more discerning, and she wasn’t impressed by mid-to-low-end jadeite. Thus, she ultimately chose to give up.

As she hesitated, suddenly she heard an exclamation from the stone cutting area. The crowd was buzzing with excitement, and there seemed to be applause coming.

Huo Sining felt like something wasn’t right, and after a few steps back, Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan were nowhere to be seen—perhaps they had managed to squeeze into the crowd. However, Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian were still standing on the outskirts.

Unable to see what was happening inside, Huo Sining couldn’t help but ask, ”What’s going on?”

Ouyang Jun shook his head, ”I don’t know.”

As he spoke, his eyes fell on the rough material in Huo Sining’s hand, and his eyes immediately sparkled with interest, ”Is this the raw material you just picked? Planning to cut it?”

Seeing the eager look in Ouyang Jun’s eyes, Huo Sining knew he was itching to try stone cutting. She laughed, not asking more, and without hesitation, tossed the piece to Ouyang Jun, generously saying, ”Go ahead and cut it.”
