Reborn As Super Heiress

After getting on the military vehicle, two pistols were respectively pointed at Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s foreheads, making them afraid to make any rash moves.

Judging from the soldiers’ attire, it was clear that these people were local warlord forces, part of the armed forces of the Five Great Families, even the Myanmar Government couldn’t control them.

These soldiers only listened to the orders of their family rulers, and they were a bunch of killing demons. If Huo Sining and Gu Xu dared to act recklessly, their lives could end right there.

The car sped down the road, and since it was a closed vehicle with no windows, Huo Sining and Gu Xu only knew it was bumping along the uneven road surface, with no idea where they were headed.

After nearly ten hours of travel, just as Huo Sining found her eyelids too heavy to keep open and was about to fall asleep on Gu Xu’s shoulder, the car suddenly jolted to a stop.

Huo Sining’s heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly woke up from a dream, remembering that she and Gu Xu had been kidnapped!

Those fierce soldiers pulled Huo Sining and Gu Xu out of the vehicle and pushed them toward a row of shanty houses.

It was then that Huo Sining noticed they had been unknowingly brought to the edge of Myanmar overnight, and behind those shanty houses was a vast stretch of tropical jungle!

After being escorted out of the car, someone tied up Huo Sining and Gu Xu and threw them into a room.

The whole room contained only two simple stone beds made from discarded fabric, without even mats, let alone blankets.

Luckily, Myanmar was in the tropics, and it happened to be the rainy season, so the weather wasn’t dry and the temperature wasn’t low, so being thrown in the room didn’t leave them freezing.

For an entire day, except for someone delivering a simple meal and watching them finish eating, no one else entered the room.

Having gone the whole night without sleep and with nerves constantly strained, Huo Sining drifted off into a deep sleep leaning on Gu Xu’s chest.

Neither of them spoke. Although they hadn’t figured out exactly who wanted to kidnap them, there was no point in worrying since the person hadn’t shown up yet. It was better to rest, conserve energy, and wait for a chance to fight back.

Until late at night, around one or two in the morning, a sudden noise came from outside the door, jolting Huo Sining awake. She looked up and found herself lying in Gu Xu’s arms, and the rope binding her hands had been untied by Gu Xu at some unknown time. She was held in an extremely comfortable position, while Gu Xu leaned against the hard stone wall, maintaining the position all night long.

Feeling a wave of guilt, Huo Sining hurriedly withdrew from Gu Xu’s embrace and instinctively stretched out her hand, using the spiritual energy of the Azure Pearl to soothe Gu Xu.

Gu Xu’s back was somewhat numb due to leaning against the wall for so long, feeling a bit tingly all over. With Huo Sining’s touch, he immediately felt a cool energy flow through his entire body, significantly easing his tension, and the original sense of fatigue vanished, leaving him alert and refreshed.

Hearing the sound of a car engine outside, Gu Xu’s expression became serious: ”Someone’s coming?!”

Huo Sining nodded.

Gu Xu’s expression turned solemn, and with eyes sharp as a blade, he looked at Huo Sining and suddenly lowered his head to give her a strong kiss on the lips, then said:

”Wife, when someone comes in later, act according to the situation. I’ll find a way to get you out. If it doesn’t work, just run to the back. When we were brought in, I saw this is the Mizhi Belly Area, and there’s a vast stretch of primitive jungle behind. Once you get into the jungle, it’ll be hard for them to find you.”

As he spoke, Gu Xu suddenly pulled out a button-like object from the sole of his shoe and placed it in Huo Sining’s palm:

”This is an electronic tracker. Keep it with you and don’t lose it. As long as you have this, Falcon can find you based on the tracker. Just find a way to run into the jungle, and you don’t need to worry about anything else!”

Huo Sining was stunned by his words and instinctively asked, ”What about you?”

Gu Xu immediately laughed, ”I’m Falcon; I have my ways. You don’t need to worry about me. Just make sure you escape; I’ll come find you to rendezvous then!”

Though Gu Xu spoke so confidently, Huo Sining wasn’t foolish. These soldiers had guns, and the situation was sudden. Gu Xu was now unarmed. If she escaped, Gu Xu’s situation would only become more dangerous. How could he escape?

At this moment, Huo Sining felt as if her heart was being tightly gripped by invisible hands, looking at Gu Xu with a complex gaze.

The night was deep, and there were no lights in the room. Only faint, dim moonlight streamed in from outside, and Huo Sining stared fixedly at Gu Xu, listening to the sounds from outside grow louder and closer.

In fact, she had the ability to save herself before being kidnapped. She had Storage Space and Invisibility Skill and could have hidden Gu Xu in Space and then used Invisibility to escape.

However, doing so would mean she’d have no way of knowing who was behind these events. And if Gu Xu was placed in the storage ring, her secret of having Space would no longer be kept.

So Huo Sining was hesitant all along, even before being thrown into the shabby room. She couldn’t decide what to do.

But at this moment, Huo Sining realized how laughable her insistence on keeping those secrets was.

This man in front of her was willing to leave the hope of survival to her at a critical moment, even risking his life to help her escape.

Looking at Gu Xu’s resolute face, Huo Sining felt a pang in her heart.

Even though Gu Xu gave her a comforting smile and gently touched her hair, kissing her ear affectionately, Huo Sining knew that this man was planning to sacrifice himself for her.

The more she thought this way, the more Huo Sining felt she owed Gu Xu too much.

This man was even willing to give his life for her. How could she still hesitate and hide her so-called secrets from this man?

”You should keep this electronic tracker. If we’re going to escape, there’s no reason for only me to go. If we leave, we leave together!”

Hearing the approaching footsteps, Huo Sining looked up at Gu Xu with a smile, thrusting the tracker back into Gu Xu’s palm.

Gu Xu was taken aback, raising his head to say something, when Huo Sining suddenly smiled oddly and waved her hand towards Gu Xu.
