Urban Martial Saint

Two monks?

The crowd looked at each other in dismay. At this time, where did two monks suddenly appear from?

”Could it be Senior Brother?” The Wolf Monk suddenly exclaimed, and everyone’s expressions changed. Everyone knew that the Senior Brother the Wolf Monk referred to was undoubtedly the Buddhist Shakya!

The Buddhist Shakya, the only person who had ever trapped the Corpse Ghost Dragon. It was said that he had gone to find the place where Patriarch Bodhidharma passed away, hoping to find Bodhidharma’s Secret Technique there to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon. If it was really him who returned, had he already found the Secret Technique left by Patriarch Bodhidharma?

Everyone’s expressions were clearly excited. If it was indeed Shakya who had come, then there would be some confidence in dealing with the Corpse Ghost Dragon. Shakya was also an extraordinary person; with him here, at least everyone would feel more assured.

”Where are they?” Helian Tiehua hurriedly asked.

”Right at the door...” The man turned to point outside, just in time to see two monks walking into the courtyard, and immediately said, ”It’s them.”

Everyone saw the two monks walking into the courtyard. One was wearing a yellow monk robe, and it was the Joyous Monk. The other, with his attire and appearance, could only be described as dirty and shabby, yet he was the current number one in the Buddhist Sect, Shakya!

It really was Shakya!

Everyone was even more excited and rushed out. From afar, the Wolf Monk immediately walked over and said, ”Senior Brother, you finally returned.”

”Don’t be excited, don’t be excited.” Shakya shook his head and waved his hand, beckoning to Helian Tiehua to come over quickly from afar.

”Master, you came.” Helian Tiehua went over, unable to contain his excitement.

”Nonsense, I’m already here, so of course, I’m here.” Shakya rolled his eyes at Helian Tiehua and said, ”Don’t talk about useless things, quick, get some food ready, your Grandpa Shakya is starving!”

Everyone was speechless; this manner of speaking was indeed unique to Shakya. This number one in the Buddhist Sect didn’t even look as solemn as the Bloody Monk; he was simply a rogue.

Fortunately, Helian Tiehua understood Shakya’s character, and without delay, he immediately turned around and instructed, ”Hurry, prepare the vegetarian meal.”

”Vegetarian meal, my foot. Bring meat, bring meat!” Shakya immediately said, ”I, the Buddha Master, don’t eat vegetarian!”

”...” Everyone was completely speechless. Shakya, talking like a hooligan was one thing, but eating meat? The key point was, he was making it very clear, saying he doesn’t eat vegetarian. What the hell kind of joke was this? Is this still a monk?

Helian Tiehua was also both amused and helpless, and he gestured to his subordinates to prepare meat dishes.

”Master, they’re preparing it now; it will be ready soon.” Helian Tiehua said, ”Why don’t we go to the main hall to wait for a while; you’ve traveled a long way, you must be quite tired.”

Shakya slapped his thigh and said, ”Exactly, you have no idea. Later in Shenchuan City, the ticket inspectors became more and more regulated. The two of us almost got kicked off the train!”

”Why did they want to kick you off the train?” Huangfu Ziyu asked curiously.

Shakya said, ”No ticket, of course, we were going to get kicked off. Your question is really something, young lady!”

”You... you evaded the fare?” Ye Qing widened his eyes. This Shakya wasn’t a high monk who had achieved enlightenment; he was simply an old rogue! An old rogue who had lived for over two hundred years!

”What, is it not allowed?” Shakya shamelessly glared back at Ye Qing.

”Al... Allowed...” Ye Qing was at a loss for words. At this point, he had to admit a fact. Shakya and Old Wang Ba were indeed similar, equally sleazy!

Back in the main hall, as soon as everyone sat down, Shakya immediately said, ”I know you all have a lot to say to me, but don’t waste your breath. I, the Buddha Master, am about to faint from hunger. Sat two days and two nights on a train, always outsmarting the train personnel, and didn’t even have a meal. Right now, I’m not in the mood to answer any questions. So, whatever you want to discuss, let’s talk after I’ve had my meal!”

Shakya’s words immediately left everyone speechless; those who wanted to ask questions also closed their mouths in resignation.

Fortunately, the manor was always stocked with food. Soon the dishes were brought up, Shakya ran straight to the table, grabbed a white-cut chicken without a word, and started devouring it. While eating, he pointed at dishes like the hairy crab and lobster, shouting, ”What are these things? Where’s the meat? Where’s the meat?”

”Master, the texture of the hairy crab and lobster is better,” Helian Tiehua said.

Shakya said, ”Don’t give me any of that pretentious stuff; what kind of meat is this? Beef and lamb, now that’s real meat!”

Helian Tiehua was completely speechless and gestured for his subordinates to bring more beef and lamb so Shakya could have his fill.

The Joyous Monk seemed hungry too, but he didn’t eat the meat dishes. Instead, he asked the kitchen to prepare a bowl of vegetarian noodles. I must say, the monks from Xiaolin Temple were quite a peculiar bunch, each one stranger than the last.

Shakya claimed to be the number one in the Buddhist Sect today, but how did he resemble any Buddhist figure, eating meat, drinking alcohol, cursing, and indulging in sleazy acts. The Bloody Monk was notorious for killing countless people, which was widely known. As for the Wolf Monk, he was no better than the Bloody Monk. As for the Joyous Monk, his situation was even more troublesome. He had as many romantic entanglements as his name suggested. Four monks, each with their unique style, truly a peculiar bunch.

Everyone sat on the side, watching as Shakya consumed a whole chicken, a whole duck, two pounds of beef, a pound of lamb, and drank three bottles of newly opened Maotai, before letting out a long burp and sitting back satisfied, rubbing his belly.

After much difficulty, when Shijia finally finished eating, everyone immediately gathered around. While others were still somewhat in awe of Shijia, Ye Qing was not polite and directly said, ”You’re full, right? Come on, let’s talk business.”

Shijia waved his hand, ”Don’t rush, let me digest first...”

”Cut the crap!” Ye Qing directly interrupted him, saying, ”Did you find a way to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon this time?”

”No.” Shijia replied very straightforwardly.

”No?” Everyone was astonished. The Wolf Monk urgently said, ”Elder Brother, this is important, don’t joke around.”

”I’m not joking, I really didn’t find a way to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon,” replied Shijia.

”Then why did you come back?” Ye Qing demanded.

”What, you don’t want to see me?” Shijia immediately sat up straight and said, ”If you don’t want to see me, then I’ll leave right now, is that okay?”

”No, no!” Everyone hurried to stop Shijia, thinking that if this old fellow left, what would they do when the Corpse Ghost Dragon comes?

Seeing everyone trying to stop him, Shijia was even more invigorated and shouted, ”Don’t hold me, don’t hold me. Just listen to the way this kid talks, is that how people talk? I’m not staying here, it’s too aggravating, I’ve never been so insulted in my life.”

This old guy, acting like a child wanting to play tricks, left everyone helpless.

”Don’t hold him!” Ye Qing suddenly spoke, stopping everyone: ”Let him go!”

”Huh?” Everyone looked at Ye Qing in astonishment, and Shijia was also taken aback, then said, ”Fine, Ye, remember you’re the one telling me to leave. I’m going now, nobody stop me!”

”This...” Everyone was speechless, thinking what are these two doing, having a tantrum?

”You can leave...” Ye Qing blocked Shijia’s way, ”But, the things you just ate are worth one thousand seven hundred yuan, settle the bill first!”

”Uh...” Shijia suddenly softened a bit, looking at the things on the table, ”Who are you trying to trick? Are these things worth one thousand seven hundred yuan? At most, I think it’s worth two hundred yuan!”

Ye Qing said, ”Two hundred yuan works too. Take out the money and you can leave.”

”Uh...” Shijia fell silent again, as he had no money on him, not even two mao, let alone two hundred yuan.

Shijia said, ”This... I didn’t ask for the food, they deliberately put it in front of me and insisted I eat it.”

Helian Tiehua immediately turned his head away, not wanting to get involved in this matter and figuring Ye Qing could handle Shijia anyway.

”Those were my things, I put them there, who told you to eat them?” Ye Qing said, ”Stop talking nonsense, it’s either two hundred yuan, or you’ll stay here, make your choice!”

”You...you’re trying to extort me?” Shijia said, ”This is extortion, don’t you understand?”

Ye Qing said, ”Don’t worry whether it’s extortion or not, do you have money or not!”

”No... no money...” Shijia said helplessly.

”No money, then sit honestly here.” Ye Qing pushed Shijia back into his seat. He could tell this old guy came over just to give everyone a hard time at first. He couldn’t let him succeed, otherwise, who knows how he’d mess with everyone.

Seeing Ye Qing handle Shijia so effectively, everyone couldn’t help but snicker, finding this old guy quite amusing.

”Master, let’s stop messing around,” Shen Tianjun walked up, ”In the past two days, we’ve faced the Corpse Ghost Dragon twice. The first time, we were lucky that Divine Doctor An Shiping helped us, burning the Corpse Ghost Dragon with the Purple Lotus Karma Fire and forcing him to retreat. The second time, we attacked them, creating a fake Purple Lotus Karma Fire, which scared him off and saved Broom Star. We estimate that he will try to attack Shenchuan City tonight. If we don’t come up with a way to deal with him, it’ll be dangerous!”

”What good does it do telling me, I can’t beat the Corpse Ghost Dragon,” Shijia grumbled.

”Master, didn’t you go to find the place where Patriarch Bodhidharma entered Nirvana? Surely you’ve found a way, right?” Helian Tiehua said, ”Otherwise, why would you come to Shenchuan City?”

”Heh heh heh...” Shijia suddenly laughed after hearing this. Seeing Shijia laugh, the others felt slightly reassured and laughed along.

”Elder Brother, did you really find a way to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon?” the Wolf Monk urgently asked.

”Heh heh heh...” Shijia laughed even more happily, making everyone suspicious, wondering what this old guy meant.

”There is a method, but...” Shijia suddenly looked at Ye Qing and said, ”I need Ye Qing to do a big favor!”
