Urban Martial Saint

Shen Qianyue rushed into the villa carrying Broom Star, but the inside of the villa was still pitch black, making it impossible to see anything.

”Master! It’s Qianyue, I’m back!” Shen Qianyue shouted, but there was still no response from the surroundings, as if the Corpse Ghost Dragon had fallen silent.

”Master? Master? How are you?” Shen Qianyue ran to the door of the room where the Corpse Ghost Dragon was hiding, hesitating, unsure of how to enter. Previously, he was allowed in by the Corpse Ghost Dragon. This time, he dared not push the door open rashly.

”Master, initially, I intended to stir up chaos in Shenchuan City and then help you capture those two monks. However, Ye Qing, that beast, was too cunning and turned the tables on us. We failed to bring those monks back and instead got chased by them.” Shen Qianyue said softly at the door, ”Master, this was our misstep. But don’t worry, I’ve already captured a child that Bloody Monk and Ye Qing both care about deeply. As long as we hold the child, they’ll soon be in disarray. Then we’ll find the opportunity to capture them!”

There was still no response from inside the room, which slightly unnerved Shen Qianyue. He recalled the unquenchable flames on the Corpse Ghost Dragon and couldn’t help worrying whether the dragon had encountered some danger.

”Master, how are you? Are you alright?” Shen Qianyue urgently asked: ”Master, can you hear me? Master? Master? If you don’t answer, I’ll... I’ll come in!”

Still, there was no response. Shen Qianyue remained silent for a moment before loudly declaring, ”Master, I’m coming in!”

After speaking, Shen Qianyue waited five seconds. Seeing no response, he walked directly to the door. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door, and then pushed it open.

As the door opened, a burst of purple flames rushed out, startling Shen Qianyue. Fortunately, he was quite powerful now and quickly stepped back two steps, but the flames still licked him somewhat. The scalding pain made Shen Qianyue painfully howl, almost driving him mad.

Shen Qianyue had been burned by fire before, but compared to previous pains, this was worlds apart. This agony was hundreds of times worse than anything he had endured in his life.

Fortunately, Shen Qianyue wasn’t standing too close and evaded the purple flames in time. However, Broom Star was not so lucky and was engulfed by the fire.

Due to the severe pain, Shen Qianyue had no time to notice Broom Star. When he finally calmed down slightly, he suddenly remembered that Broom Star was still at the door and was shocked.

Corpse Ghost Dragon had repeatedly told them not to harm ordinary people. If Broom Star were burned to death by these flames, it would be a major problem, and Shen Qianyue would have no way to explain it to the Corpse Ghost Dragon.

He quickly looked up, originally expecting Broom Star to be howling in pain. Yet, when he looked at the door, he was stunned to find that Broom Star seemed unscathed by the fire, showing no sign of pain. The flames appeared not to affect him at all. Standing amidst the fire, he remained calm, curiously observing everything around him.

”What... what’s going on?” Shen Qianyue was bewildered. Who isn’t afraid of fire? Even the Corpse Ghost Dragon was burned like that, and he himself had just experienced the pain, knowing full well the power of these flames. Yet here was Broom Star standing amidst them, without a hint of pain. It was truly unexpected!

”Who?” At this moment, a voice roared angrily from inside the room; it was the Corpse Ghost Dragon’s voice.

”Master, it’s me!” Shen Qianyue quickly shouted back.

”It’s you?” The Corpse Ghost Dragon’s voice suddenly rose and exclaimed, ”This... who is this child?”

”Master, as I just mentioned, this child is someone Ye Qing and Bloody Monk value greatly. I captured him to use him to threaten those people.” Shen Qianyue replied.

The Corpse Ghost Dragon, unsure if he heard him, burst out of the room. The purple flames on his body seemed even more intense. As he walked out, the flames flickered continually, yet strangely, the surrounding furniture remained unaffected, showing no signs of burning.

As the Corpse Ghost Dragon emerged, the purple flames became more vigorous, completely engulfing Broom Star.

Shen Qianyue could see clearly from outside; Broom Star remained motionless as if the flames couldn’t harm him. The Corpse Ghost Dragon seemed equally curious, crouching beside Broom Star, one hand pressed on his head, staring at him intently.

”Master? Master?” Shen Qianyue whispered twice, and seeing the Corpse Ghost Dragon not turning, he quietly and urgently said, ”Master, those peak masters from Shenchuan City are coming. Do you think we should find another place to hide?”

”Hahaha...” The Corpse Ghost Dragon did not answer Shen Qianyue’s words, instead, he looked up and laughed. Based on the sound, he seemed very excited and thrilled, yet it was unclear what was happening.

”Master?” Shen Qianyue was bewildered once again and asked softly, ”Master, what happened?”

”Buddha Heart, Taoist Heart, hahaha...” The Corpse Ghost Dragon suddenly turned to look at Shen Qianyue and said, ”Qianyue, you did very well!”

”Ah?” Shen Qianyue was stunned. What had he done well?

”To be able to bring back a person with an Innate Buddha Heart, hahaha, this child is much more valuable than that Bloody Monk and Wolf Monk!” The Corpse Ghost Dragon laughed, ”The value of this child is not even below Shijia. Having him means not only this Purple Lotus Karma Fire can be extinguished quickly, but my cultivation power can also greatly increase!”

”Ah?” Shen Qianyue stared at the Broom Star in shock and said, ”Master, you... you mean this child has an Innate Buddha Heart?”

Shen Qianyue had heard of the Innate Taoist Heart, which Shen Lingwei possessed. The matter of the Innate Buddha Heart was something he was hearing for the first time. However, it seemed that the Innate Buddha Heart and the Innate Taoist Heart should be similar.

”Purple Lotus Karma Fire, burn away all karmic obstacles!” The Corpse Ghost Dragon said, ”Even those who have successfully cultivated Buddhism, deep down have demonic hurdles and karmic thoughts. Some people in order to train their minds use the Purple Lotus Karma Fire to burn themselves, to eliminate their karmic obstacles. It can be said that the Purple Lotus Karma Fire can burn every person in this world because human nature is inherently a confrontation of good and evil, both coexist, including small children. However, people with an Innate Buddha Heart are different, the Innate Buddha Heart inherently transcends all beings, having no good or evil in their heart, naturally bearing no karmic obstacles. Even this Purple Lotus Karma Fire cannot burn them. Hahaha, Innate Buddha Heart, Innate Buddha Heart!”

”Is there really such a thing? A person with an Innate Buddha Heart must be very rare, right?” Shen Qianyue was greatly shocked and at the same time, quite excited. He never expected that the child he brought back to hold hostage turned out to be someone with an Innate Buddha Heart.

”Of course, it’s rare!” The Corpse Ghost Dragon said solemnly, ”I’ve only seen two people with an Innate Buddha Heart. The first was a True Buddha from Brahmanism. And the second is this child. In over three hundred years, I’ve only seen these two people with an Innate Buddha Heart. Do you think they’re rare?”

Shen Qianyue was dumbfounded. The Corpse Ghost Dragon had lived for over three hundred years and had only seen two—this Innate Buddha Heart really must be incredibly rare. No wonder the Bloody Monk and Ye Qing value this child so much, it’s because of this reason.

”I didn’t expect that upon this outing, first I saw an Innate Taoist Heart, and then an Innate Buddha Heart. It seems my luck really is coming!” The Corpse Ghost Dragon laughed.

”Master’s fortune is boundless. This time out, no one in the world can stop you. With the Taoist Heart and Buddha Heart, in the future, Master, you will undoubtedly be the number one person in the world!” Shen Qianyue quickly said.

”Hahaha...” The Corpse Ghost Dragon laughed again, nodding, ”Qianyue, you did very well this time. Once I extinguish this Purple Lotus Karma Fire, I will naturally reward you!”

Shen Qianyue bowed and said, ”Being able to help Master is Qianyue’s honor!”

”Hahaha...” The Corpse Ghost Dragon nodded in satisfaction, looking at the nearby Broom Star, feeling even more proud. At this moment, he felt that the previous suffering from the Purple Lotus Karma Fire was completely worthwhile. To gain a person with an Innate Buddha Heart was indeed an unexpected fortune.

Just then, an angry shout suddenly came from outside the villa, clearly the voice of Luan Ping.

”What’s going on outside?” The Corpse Ghost Dragon still didn’t know the situation outside, seemingly not having heard what Shen Qianyue said earlier.

Shen Qianyue remembered the situation outside and immediately explained it, then said, ”Master, now that you have acquired this Innate Buddha Heart, you can soon recover from your injuries. I think perhaps we should temporarily find a place to hide, to evade our enemy’s edge. Once Master regains your strength, you can use thunderous means to eliminate all the Peak Masters in Shenchuan City. What do you think?”

”Humph, just these jumping clowns want me to hide?” The Corpse Ghost Dragon stood up directly and coldly said, ”Even though I’ve been burnt by the Purple Lotus Karma Fire, I’m not exactly fit to act now. But, although I can’t kill them, driving them away is not a difficult task. Qianyue, you stay here and watch this child, be sure not to let him run away. I’m going out to meet these people!”

Hearing these words from the Corpse Ghost Dragon, Shen Qianyue felt much relieved. He quickly picked up the Broom Star and said, ”Master, don’t worry, I will certainly keep an eye on this child!”

The Corpse Ghost Dragon nodded, carrying the purple flames upon him, and walked directly to the villa’s door, loudly shouting, ”Who dares to be so bold, causing trouble at the door of me, the Corpse Ghost Dragon!”

After speaking, the Corpse Ghost Dragon directly pushed open the door and rushed out, with the purple flames all over him flashing like a bolt of purple lightning.
