Urban Martial Saint

As soon as these two had finished speaking, someone immediately stood up beside them, glaring, and said, ”What kind of nonsense are you two talking about? Our brothers have all been killed by Ye Qing, should we not avenge them? Who cares about breaking the law or not, let me tell you, those were my brothers, and even if it costs me my life, I will take revenge for them. So what if it’s against the law? Doesn’t Ye Qing break the law by killing people? If you’re afraid of breaking the law, then get the hell out of Snake Form Gate, we don’t lack spineless trash like you!”

”That’s right!” another person shouted, ”Besides, although we are going after those kids, we’re not actually harming them if we just catch them, so we won’t be committing any serious crimes. Our main target is Ye Qing, don’t you all want to avenge our brothers?”

”No more talking, let’s just fight!” one of the underlings shouted, ”I don’t care about breaking the law or losing face. Ye Qing has killed so many of our brothers, we must settle this account clearly. These are brothers with whom we’ve shared life and death. Even if it means risking my life, I have to take revenge for them. Those too cowardly to seek revenge can piss off out of Snake Form Gate—we don’t need brothers like you!”

The people of Snake Form Gate argued noisily, with most clamoring to strike the orphanage, while only a few harbored some doubts. But after being berated and persuaded by the others, many changed their minds and agreed to target the children at the orphanage. In less than half an hour, the opinions of everyone were essentially unified in agreement with the plan!

Snake, who had been standing in the hall all this time, watched the debate without uttering a word, closely observing everyone’s expressions. Finally, when everyone had finished, he slowly nodded and declared, ”It seems everyone’s in agreement. In that case, I won’t say more, let’s decide on this. We’ll capture the kids from the orphanage, threaten Ye Qing, and avenge our fallen brothers!”

The people of Snake Form Gate immediately erupted in cheers, many satisfied with the plan, with only a few still doubtful. Although revenge was crucial, they felt this method was rather despicable, and deep inside, they truly disagreed with it.

However, disagreement was useless now, Snake had spoken, and the rest could only follow his lead.

Next, they discussed how to attack the orphanage. They decided to strike at dawn when most of the orphanage was asleep, which would be the most convenient. As for the attack itself, it wasn’t hard to execute; the orphanage wasn’t heavily guarded, and they were confident they could take control within fifteen minutes. But the real crux of the matter that needed discussion was how to then threaten Ye Qing.

In the house at the front of Snake Form Gate’s compound, Xu Cunxiao and Mr. Wu were sitting, listening to the conversations on their side. They had placed many bugs around Snake Form Gate and had everything that happened under control.

After hearing the plans and arrangements of Snake Form Gate, Xu Cunxiao’s face was filled with a cold smirk. He knew the situation at the orphanage best—it was Ye Qing’s Achilles’ heel. He had exploited the orphanage once before, and Ye Qing had nearly torn down the Ding Family. This time, he wanted to use the orphanage again to force Ye Qing to kill Snake, so that Snake Form Gate would then have an irreconcilable feud with Ye Qing, and he could sit back and watch the seven Sects of Snake Form Gate clash with Ye Qing.

”Hmph, they plan rather thoroughly, not knowing they’re marching to their deaths,” Mr. Wu remarked with a sneer.

”Ah, the greatest tragedy is being too clever for one’s own good. That’s the case for Snake, and for those people at Snake Form Gate too,” Xu Cunxiao said with a continuous sneer, ”But such people are the easiest to control. The existence of such people in this world makes our job all the easier!”

”Exactly, Third Brother, your strategies are ingenious; these people in Shenchuan City are simply no match!” Mr. Wu flattered eagerly.

Xu Cunxiao smiled proudly, quite confident in his strategic abilities.

After discussing the attack on the orphanage, Snake instructed everyone to rest up in their rooms to be ready for the night’s action. The members rested until about 10:30 p.m., regrouped in the yard, had dinner together, changed their clothes, and headed for the orphanage under the cover of night.

Once they reached the orphanage, it was already the early hours of the morning, and the streets were empty. They parked the cars two li away from the orphanage and moved stealthily toward it without making a sound, drawing no attention. Approaching the orphanage, several underlings climbed over the wall into the yard, while two others sneaked into the guardroom, took control of the guards, and opened the gate for the rest.

The orphanage had recently constructed some temporary prefab rooms for the children to live in. Even though they had accommodation in the city, the kids still needed to attend school and couldn’t study in the city. Moreover, since the provincial authorities were closely monitoring the orphanage’s affairs, they wouldn’t allow Ye Qing to bring the children to his side, so they had to stay there temporarily.

Before coming, Snake had already sent people to gather detailed information about the orphanage. The group crept close to the prefab rooms, and just as they were about to push open the door, someone who had gotten up to go to the bathroom saw what was happening and immediately shouted, ”What are you doing?”

This shout startled the people of Snake Form Gate for a moment. In that instant, Snake suddenly yelled, ”No more talk, kill them all!”

Following Snake’s order, the Snake Form Gate members stopped creeping about and charged toward the prefab rooms. However, the doors were locked from the inside, and they couldn’t open them. Meanwhile, the person who was going to the bathroom had raised an alarm, and soon, several other prefab rooms lit up, as people inside became aware of the situation.

The rooms that had their lights on were quickly opened, and a group of people rushed out. They were the underlings Ye Qing had stationed at the orphanage to keep watch over it on a regular basis.

Seeing these people, Snake also became anxious and shouted loudly, ”Fuck, leave a few people here to pry the door, the rest of you go and take care of these guys first!”

There were about seventy to eighty people who came with Snake, whereas Ye Qing only had a little over twenty people at the orphanage. The gap in manpower was substantial. As soon as Snake gave the order, more than sixty members of the Snake Form Gate immediately ran towards those twenty or so people, and the two sides immediately engaged in chaotic combat.

Over here, about a dozen members of the Snake Form Gate were busy trying to pry open the doors of the prefab houses. However, the door locks seemed exceptionally strong, and after a long while, they hadn’t pried open a single door. Instead, the melee on the other side was nearly over.

Seeing the situation, Snake couldn’t help but grow impatient, ”Fuck, why haven’t you pried the door open yet, what the fuck are you eating to grow so big?”

”Snake, this door is too sturdy, we can’t open it at all!” one of the underlings complained.

”Can’t open the door, can’t you enter through the window?” Snake shouted angrily.

”This... the windows have guards...” an underling said helplessly. He couldn’t have imagined that Ye Qing had also installed window guards on these prefab houses. They simply couldn’t get in.

”Damn it, the windows of this prefab house also have guards?” Snake’s eyes widened in disbelief. He gazed at the sturdy prefab house, feeling somewhat defeated. They had come this far; if they didn’t take some children as hostages, wouldn’t this trip have been in vain? Moreover, letting Ye Qing find out about this matter, they would definitely not be spared. He had to take some children as hostages!

”Fuck, move aside, I’ll do it!” Snake roared furiously and ran over, raising his foot and kicking viciously at the door of the prefab house.

Snake was not weak, and after a few kicks at the door of the prefab house, although the door did not open, the entire prefab began to shake. It looked as if the houses were about to fall apart. At the same time, children’s cries began to emerge from within the house, clearly scared by what was happening.

”Snake, stop kicking, if you keep it up this prefab will fall apart!” an underling urgently exclaimed.

”Shut up!” another underling immediately said, ”We’ve come to this point; we have to pry open this prefab house no matter what. Everyone, kick together!”

Following this underling’s shout, a dozen people immediately rushed over and joined Snake in kicking the prefab house with all their strength.

With everyone kicking together, the force was quite significant. After kicking for a short time, although they didn’t break the door open, the prefab house wobbled wildly and then suddenly collapsed with a crash, the panel walls all collapsing onto one another, crushing everything inside.

Everyone was stunned, especially Snake, whose eyes bulged. The crying from the children that was heard moments before the prefab house fell was abruptly silenced, leaving no doubt about the situation inside.

The underlings around Snake also had their eyes wide open. The door of the prefab house was so solid, yet the walls were so fragile, which was incomprehensible to them. In that moment, it was unknown how many children were killed. Although the panel walls were not as heavy as real walls, they were not light. With several panel walls collapsing onto each other, there was no hope for the children inside to survive.

Everyone stood frozen, staring blankly at the collapsed prefab house, momentarily forgetting what to do. Just then, several cars sped into the orphanage. The vehicles hadn’t even come to a complete stop before Ye Qing jumped out and immediately yelled furiously upon landing, ”You’ve got some nerve to cause trouble in my orphanage, you’re looking for death, aren’t you!”

In the midst of speaking, Ye Qing had already run to the front of the prefab house. Seeing the collapsed framework, Ye Qing’s face instantly turned crimson with rage. He rushed forward and sent a member of the Snake Form Gate flying with a punch. Two steps later, he confronted Snake and roared, ”I’ll kill you!”
