Urban Martial Saint

Upon hearing Li Lianshan’s explanation, Ye Qing immediately understood.

Liu Yuan treated Ye Qing as his benefactor and Li Lianshan as his pillar of support. As long as Li Lianshan remained the underground ruler of Shenchuan City, making money there for him was extremely easy. Therefore, he always paid close attention to his relationship with Li Lianshan. Once Li suggested something, Liu Yuan would, of course, agree without the slightest hesitation and promptly called in the best construction team to get to work, making the whole process very easy.

In fact, for a renovation of such a place, one construction team would suffice. Bringing in too many teams could lead to conflicts, as there was competition and disputes were inevitable when working together. And having more than a dozen teams working together was even more unthinkable: the time wasted could have been used to earn more money.

However, with Liu Yuan personally taking the lead, the situation was different. Everyone knew about Liu Yuan’s capabilities in Shenchuan City’s construction industry. He could secure most of the renovation work and was also linked with Lin Corporation, as well as being friends with Ye Qing and Li Lianshan. These construction teams all wanted to work under him. Hence, upon receiving orders from Liu Yuan, these teams naturally came to help without any objections. With Liu Yuan coordinating, the potential frictions between the many teams were averted. The foremen of these teams were not foolish; they would rather take a slight loss here to leave a good impression on Liu Yuan, which could result in getting some work from him later on—that was their ultimate goal!

Thus, the renovation of Li’s place was not only swift but also of exceptional quality. The materials used had been personally inspected by the construction teams and then reviewed by Liu Yuan, with not a single subpar item. This hotel was turned by Liu Yuan into the most luxurious hotel in Shenchuan City.

Surveying the decorative state around him, Ye Qing couldn’t help but be filled with emotion, not to mention the people from the South and North Xingyi Schools.

Everyone ascended to the seventh floor, where they were even more astonished. This so-called seventh floor was essentially a level entirely made of glass. On one side were various rooms with opaque glass. Half of this level was a large open space, which left one wondering about its purpose.

”Old Li, aren’t you wasting such a huge empty space?” Ye Qingqi asked in surprise.

”Hehe...” Li Lianshan gave a mysterious smile and gestured. A staff member immediately came over with a remote control. Li pressed the remote, and to everyone’s amazement, the floor above the space slowly parted, revealing a huge swimming pool!

The people from both the South and North Xingyi Schools widened their eyes in shock. A swimming pool on the top floor was truly astonishing.

Ye Qing too was taken aback; he had not expected Li Lianshan to have such a trick up his sleeve for the rooftop.

”This... this wasn’t done in the past few days, was it?” Ye Qing asked.

”Of course not, it would have been impossible to complete in just these few days!” Li Lianshan replied. ”I had this prepared earlier. I initially wanted to turn this rooftop into a villa-style setting with a pool on the outside. But now that it’s all been turned into a hotel, this space can also be rented out to rich second-generation kids for parties or whatever. They have the space, the swimming pool, and it’s all on the rooftop with a view. It’s really great!”

Li’s hotel was located close to the sea, and from the rooftop, viewing the sea was certainly enjoyable. It had to be said that Li had great foresight.

The people from the Northern Xingyi School simply ran to the edge of the rooftop. Having grown up in the North, they had never seen the ocean before. Now that they had, each of them was beyond excited.

Even the people from the Southern Xingyi School felt refreshed and delighted by such a sight. The design and decoration of Li’s rooftop were really impressive!

Seeing the members of the South and North Xingyi Schools excitedly enjoying themselves, Ye Qing couldn’t help but smile and said to Li, ”Old Li, you didn’t open this huge hotel just to make money, did you? If it were really for profit, I think these renovations would have cost you dearly!”

”Of course, it’s not just about making money!” Li Lianshan said with a laugh. ”I’ve bought all the surrounding land. First using this hotel to establish a reputation here, to draw all the tycoons from Shenchuan City to dine here. Then, gradually building up the amenities, turning it into a complete leisure club.”

”Now that you own both Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens, and you still want to build another club, what are you planning?” Ye Qing asked curiously. ”Aren’t you competing with yourself?”

”Competing? Not at all!” Li Lianshan laughed. ”Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens always have shares in others’ hands and aren’t entirely under our control, which isn’t ideal. Besides, Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens were built by Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan, not by ourselves, and that always feels somewhat unsatisfying. So, I was thinking, why not create our own private club? The land I’ve bought is even larger than Qingfeng Club and Nine Heavens combined. Moreover, it’s close to the seaside. If the modern facilities are well-developed, we might even attract tycoons from Xiangjiang and Tai Island. Then we could really strike it rich!”

Li Lianshan’s face was flushed with excitement as he patted Ye Qing’s shoulder, adding, ”By the way, Ye Zi, you own half of the shares in this club!”

”What?” Ye Qing was stunned. ”Are you joking? I haven’t put in a cent, so what do you mean I have half of the shares? Although we’re brothers, Li, I can’t accept that much money!”

”Don’t get worked up, listen to me carefully!” Li Lianshan said. ”To buy such a big piece of land, I didn’t have the money either. Do you know how I got this land?”

”How did it come to be?” Ye Qingqi wondered.

”The original owner of this land was actually Tianfu!” Li Lianshan looked at Ye Qing and continued, ”That is, the dwarf servant under Miss Huangfu Ziyu, of the East State Poisonous Mantis, Tianfu, he was the master of this land!”

Ye Qing’s brows furrowed slightly. Upon mention of Huangfu Ziyu, he couldn’t help but feel somewhat sentimental.

”Miss Huangfu is preparing to withdraw her influence from the Eastern Province, selling off her properties in Shenchuan City as well. It was Tianfu who specifically sought me out to sell this land to us. And what’s more, the price was extremely low, and it could be paid in installments,” said Li Lianshan, looking at Ye Qing. ”Ye Zi, I don’t have the clout to make Miss Huangfu sell such a large piece of land to me at a bargain. So, I understand that what she actually intends is to leave this land for you. Given that, even giving you half the shares, I’m still the one getting the better deal!”

Li Lianshan’s subsequent words were hardly heard by Ye Qing; he only knew that Huangfu Ziyu had Tianfu sell the land to Li Lianshan for a low price. He was well aware that by doing this, Huangfu Ziyu was still giving him a favour. He thought back to the words Huangfu Ziyu had told him that day at the Shen Family Manor. Huangfu Ziyu had slashed him twice, and she herself got stabbed once, wanting to make a clean break with Ye Qing. But how could it truly be over? Despite her claims of always using Ye Qing, did her actions really amount to use?

Ye Qing felt a dull ache in his heart. He didn’t understand why Huangfu Ziyu had spoken words of severance back at the Shen Family Manor. However, his heart just couldn’t let go of this woman!

Zhao Chengshuang was also pulling Huo Pingping to stand on the edge of the rooftop, admiring the distant sea view, when he didn’t forget to call back, ”Old Li, how much do you charge for this rooftop?

”The rooftop is generally rented out as a full package, eighty-eight thousand for one day!” Li Lianshan replied.

”Damn, are you robbing people?” Zhao Chengshuang’s eyes widened in shock.

”Oh, come on, stop your grumbling. Just this, eighty-eight thousand a day, and there’s a line of reservations over a month long. Today’s event, I personally negotiated to free up a day!” Li Lianshan said.

Zhao Chengshuang sighed and said, ”Holy moly, with such steep fees for this place, how would us poor folks dare to come here in the future!”

”Hey, what’s money between brothers,” Li Lianshan laughed. ”You want to come, just come. I’ll even provide the clothes for free.”

”Oh?” Zhao Chengshuang immediately perked up. ”What clothes are you providing?”

Li Lianshan pointed out, ”There, you see those two sets, just pick one.”

Zhao Chengshuang turned to look. In a sudden outburst he exclaimed, ”Damn, aren’t those the lifeguard’s and janitor’s uniforms? Are you implying I come here to work as a lifeguard and janitor?”

”Hahaha…” Li Lianshan laughed heartily. ”Work hard, and not only will it be free, I’ll even pay you!”

”Get lost, go and play on your own!” Zhao Chengshuang waved him off. ”Enough chit-chat, hurry up and give me a membership card and a discount card, or else I’ll have this dump shut down!”

”Yes, yes, Director Zhao. Please have mercy and don’t shut down my humble establishment!” Li Lianshan replied jokingly. He and Zhao Chengshuang were accustomed to joking around; it was no big deal for them.

Not long after everyone had been playing, a server brought some cooking utensils over and set them up next to the hall.

”Boss, everything is ready. Shall we begin now?” A female server approached. It had to be said that Li Lianshan had selected his staff very carefully—the female server looked like a star. It seemed he really aspired to make his place top-notch.

”Wait a moment.” Li Lianshan gestured and turned to Ye Qing. ”Ye Zi, I have chefs for every kind of cuisine here. What flavors do your friends prefer? I’ll call the chefs right over and have them cook on the spot, how’s that?”

Ye Qing was surprised again at the thoughtfulness of Li Lianshan, who apparently had chefs for every cuisine at the ready—this meant endless variety. Li Lianshan had really invested effort into his hotel venture; it seemed his establishment was destined to make a name for itself in Shenchuan City!
