Urban Martial Saint

The body’s hand was clutching something tightly, and that something was a very ordinary-looking watch. However, it was this watch that caused Ye Qing’s complexion to dramatically change, as if he had seen something unimaginable.

Because Ye Qing recognized this watch, this watch was the one Black Bear always carried with him. The watch was issued to them universally in the army, and it even had the army’s insignia engraved on it, there was absolutely no mistake about it.

But how could Black Bear’s watch end up in this corpse’s hand?

Ye Qing turned his head to look at Black Bear. Black Bear’s face was also full of astonishment as he exclaimed, ”Hey, isn’t that my watch?”

Black Bear’s character was excessively straightforward; he spoke whatever was on his mind. This remark, however, was like a stone causing a thousand ripples, instantly stirring up the people from the Snake Form Gate.

”So it really was you who killed our brother!”

”Shit, what else do you have to say now?”

”Ye, a life for a life, I’m going all in with you!”

”Police, police, what are you even doing? The murderer is right here, why aren’t you arresting him quickly?”

Snake was also gritting his teeth and frowning deeply, staring intensely at Ye Qing with an extremely cold expression. He had some belief in Ye Qing last night, but at this moment, he completely lost his trust in Ye Qing. The corpse having Black Bear’s watch in hand at the time of death meant that Black Bear was definitely by his side when he died. What more was there to say?

Ye Qing furrowed his brow, watching the agitated looks of the people from the Snake Form Gate. He knew that any explanation now was useless. The only thing he needed to think about now was how to uncover the real truth of the incident and show the Snake Form Gate people who their real enemy was. At a tumultuous time in Shenchuan City, Ye Qing really did not want to make enemies with the people from the Snake Form Gate. Once antagonized, the result would be facing the combined forces of the other six sects, a force not to be underestimated!

Seeing the people from the Snake Form Gate about to surround Ye Qing and Black Bear, Zhao Chengshuang immediately came over with his men and shouted loudly, ”What are you doing? What are you doing? In broad daylight, you want to rebel? The police will handle it, it’s not for you to take matters into your own hands!”

”Handle it? You police could even handle it?” a man from the Snake Form Gate shouted angrily. ”I don’t trust you damn cops. The murderers are right here, and I haven’t seen you arrest them. Hmph, in this society, money makes the mare go, you cops have already been bought off by Ye, how could you possibly help us investigate this matter. We don’t trust you, we will take revenge ourselves!”

”Right, we want to take matters into our own hands!” the crowd shouted, seemingly uncontrollable.

Black Bear was still stunned; he couldn’t understand what was happening either. He carried the watch with him all the time, only taking it off at night while sleeping. This morning, when he received the news about the discovery of these bodies, he had come over in a rush and forgotten about the watch. But how did it end up in this corpse’s hand?

Seeing the people from the Snake Form Gate about to charge over in righteous indignation, Zhao Chengshuang also furrowed his brows, as the situation was becoming somewhat uncontrollable. He made an eye signal to Ye Qing, suggesting that Ye Qing leave the scene first.

Ye Qing shook his head at him and said, ”Xiong Zi, you go back with the police first to assist with the investigation. If you are innocent, the police will definitely not wrong you!”

Ye Qing knew that currently, the evidence pointed towards Black Bear, and if they didn’t provide an answer to the Snake Form Gate, the people from the Snake Form Gate would definitely not let it go. Thus, the best method was to first have Zhao Chengshuang take Black Bear back. After all, Black Bear wouldn’t suffer any loss being with Zhao Chengshuang, and Ye Qing felt more assured about that. As for the issue at hand, Ye Qing needed to quickly clear up the situation and restore Black Bear’s innocence!

Zhao Chengshuang understood Ye Qing’s intentions and didn’t say anything further, letting the police take Black Bear back first.

”What about him though?” the people from the Snake Form Gate indignantly pointed at Ye Qing and said, ”That so-called Black Bear is just a tool for murder; he is the real mastermind behind the scenes, take him down too!”

”Damn it!” Zhao Chengshuang could no longer hold back his anger and said, ”We police know what should be done and what shouldn’t. The current evidence can only indicate that Black Bear might be involved in this, but there is no evidence showing that Ye Qing is involved. We police make arrests based on evidence, not just do whatever you want us to do!”

”Bullshit!” Snake roared at Zhao Chengshuang, yelling furiously, ”What do you mean ’make arrests based on evidence’? Everyone knows you’re close with Ye Qing, you’re just trying to shield him. Chengshuang, if you don’t handle this matter right, I will definitely sue you as well!”

”Whoa, what a temper, even threatening to sue me!” Zhao Chengshuang sneered with a laugh, ”Sure, go ahead and sue. I, Zhao Chengshuang, am upright and unafraid of your threats.”

”I will definitely sue you!” Snake said through gritted teeth.

”I’ll be waiting!” Zhao Chengshuang waved his hand dismissively, ”Alright, you all should get out too. This is a crime scene, and bystanders aren’t allowed. I let you in out of goodwill earlier, but didn’t expect you to turn and bite back. I really fed the dogs with my kindness!”

The people from Snake Form Gate immediately started a commotion, with Snake angrily asking, ”Why can Ye Qing be here?”

”He is a specially appointed case handler of the Shenchuan City Police Department, can you compare with that?” Zhao Chengshuang glared back, his statement actually the truth. Ye Qing had been specially appointed for the He Ziqiang case, and that status hadn’t yet been revoked, coming in handy at crucial times.

”What specially appointed case handler? I’ve never heard of that!” The members of the Snake Form Gate shouted out loud, Zhao Chengshuang waved his hand dismissively, too tired to argue, and had the police drive them out.

The people from Snake Form Gate were really persistent, continuing to shout from outside, calling for Ye Qing to pay with his blood.

”Damn, are these people from Snake Form Gate idiots?” Zhao Chengshuang muttered to himself, then turned to look at Ye Qing and said, ”Ye Zi, you better handle this matter well. The people from Snake Form Gate are too hot-headed. If things go south, they might really dare to fight you to the death!”

Watching the furious people from Snake Form Gate outside, Ye Qing sighed. He wasn’t concerned about them; what he truly feared were the elder figures from the seven sects. Currently, Ye Qing didn’t lack manpower. However, his side was short on skilled masters. If these seven sects’ masters joined forces, he would indeed have trouble. So, he wanted to handle this matter cleanly, trying not to make enemies with those people.

Ye Qing walked up to the thirteen corpses and continued to observe closely, searching for any possible clues. However, his efforts were clearly in vain. Mr. Wu had handled these bodies several times before sending them over, and finding any clues beneficial to Ye Qing on these bodies was virtually impossible.

Meanwhile, at a villa in the North Suburb of Shenchuan City, Chen San and Chen Si, brother and sister, were sitting together, discussing matters regarding Ye Qing.

Aomuhan sat in front of them, idly playing with a cell phone. After playing for a while, bored, he tossed the phone aside and said, ”Third Brother, Fourth Sister, why bother with this Ye Qing guy? He’s just a nouveau riche. Although he has some capabilities in Shenchuan City, it’s minor. Let him fight with those from Snake Form Gate. Our focus should be on Wang Tian’an. Since our vanguard has already arrived, I say we just go right over and take down Wang Tian’an’s base in Shenchuan City, show him some color. After driving Wang Tian’an away, we can just take over Shenchuan City, making it our main base, and have a good fight with that Wang Tian’an!”

Hearing Aomuhan’s words, Chen San and Chen Si exchanged a glance, both displaying helpless expressions. Aomuhan was too impulsive and arrogant, often saying things that put them in difficult positions. If it weren’t for his being Ao Wuchang’s biological son, they would have driven him away long ago!

”Muh Han, Ye Qing’s identity is quite special. With Old Wang Ba by his side, there’s a strong chance he’s the direct disciple of the Northern Fist King Li Changqing. If that’s true, then he is connected to the Northern Li Family. We shouldn’t underestimate him,” Chen Si paused, then continued, ”Also, after the battle at the Shen Family Manor last time, he saved many people from the Shen Family and is greatly indebted to them. Even though the Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun announced the closure of Shen Family Manor, since Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun has emerged, even Master personally called to inquire about him, signifying the weight of Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun. If he supports Ye Qing, we must show enough respect to Ye Qing. Otherwise, if we provoke Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun, it won’t be good for us!”

”What Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun, an old guy, what’s there to fear!” Aomuhan scoffed, ”If he was twenty years younger, he might be worth mentioning. Now he’s just an old man over seventy, what’s there? My father and Uncle Helian are in their prime, far beyond these old guys, no need to give them any face. Moreover, this Shen Family Manor isn’t much at all. Slain Gate and the people from Western Province almost wiped them out, what so-called Martial Arts Holy Land of the Southern Six Provinces, it’s just a name. In my opinion, after dealing with Wang Tian’an’s people, when my father comes over, we should have a good fight with this Southern Fist King and take his title. Then Uncle Helian will be the Northern Fist King and my father the Southern Fist King, who in the world could stand against them!”

Chen San furrowed his brows, Aomuhan’s arrogance he was well aware of. But this level of arrogance was slightly too much.

”Muh Han, regardless, the Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun has been famous for many years, not to be underestimated,” Chen San said solemnly, ”Either way, it’s best not to have a direct confrontation with them. That’s the wisest choice!”
