Urban Martial Saint

Chen San’s attempt at reconciliation only made Aomuhan sneer disdainfully, ”What’s the use of being renowned for a long time? It only proves that he’s old. As one ages, the body weakens—perhaps he was once a peak master, but now that he is older, what’s left? This society is full of people who use their age to their advantage. Third Brother, I find your way of handling matters too conservative!”

Chen San exchanged looks with Chen Si beside him. When Aomuhan was in Shu, Ao Wuchang could keep him in check. Now that he had come to the Eastern Province, he was like a wild horse that had thrown off its bridle, revealing his arrogant and conceited nature. Chen San knew that with Aomuhan’s personality, whatever he said would be useless, so he dropped the topic.

”East State Poisonous Praying Mantis, Huangfu Ziyu has already left the Eastern Province. It is said that soon, the Huangfu Household will be reestablished. It seems that Huangfu Ziyu is preparing to rebuild the Huangfu family’s gate in Xi Hang,” Chen San said. ”Having operated in the Eastern Province for so many years, one could say that she practically owns the entire province. Once she returns to Xi Hang, it’s highly likely that she’ll give up here. But, the vast empire she built here in the Eastern Province—who she leaves it to can be a big deal, potentially affecting future power dynamics in the Southern Six Provinces!”

At these words, Aomuhan immediately perked up, ”Third Brother, I heard that Huangfu Ziyu is quite a beauty, a real enchantress. Don’t you think if she finds a man, she might hand over her Eastern Province enterprises to him?”

Chen Si sighed. She knew that since Aomuhan arrived in the Eastern Province, he had been obsessed with two women. One was Miss Shen, Qingyi of the Shen Family, renowned as the foremost beauty of the Southern Six Provinces, and the other was Huangfu Ziyu, the demonic prodigy of the Eastern Province. Aomuhan was too conceited, convinced that only these two women were worthy of his station, and he had been scheming to get involved with them. His current words were likely yet another ploy targeting Huangfu Ziyu.

”Muhan, Huangfu Ziyu’s life ambition is to revitalize the Huangfu Household, she hasn’t considered anything else. Besides, it’s best if you stay away from her. She’s known as the East State Poisonous Mantis—for years, countless men have died at her feet. She’s not someone to provoke lightly!” Chen Si advised.

”Sister Si, I don’t like the sound of that,” retorted Aomuhan glaring. ”What do you mean? Do you think I’m like those men? My father is Ao Wuchang from Shu, and if Huangfu Ziyu were willing to join forces with me, revitalizing the Huangfu Household wouldn’t be difficult at all. Besides, she’s just a woman—even if she does renew the family’s former glory, without any men in the Huangfu family, it’s destined to die out after a century. If you ask me, women are better off getting married and teaching their children—that’s truly the best they can hope for. Fighting and killing isn’t for them!”

Chen Si slightly frowned and said, ”So according to you, I should also hurry and find someone to marry and bear children?”

Aomuhan was too arrogant just now and ended up including Chen Si in his statement. Seeing Chen Si get angry, he quickly realized that he had gone too far and hastily offered a laugh, ”Sister Si, I didn’t mean that, please don’t misinterpret my words. You’re different from Huangfu Ziyu—you’re a hero among women, she’s nothing compared to you!”

Chen Si turned her head away, refusing to look at Aomuhan. Aomuhan felt awkward and turned to Chen San, ”Third Brother, who do you think Huangfu Ziyu plans to hand over the management of the Eastern Province to?”

Chen San went silent for a while before replying, ”Huangfu Ziyu has developed many loyal followers during her years in the Eastern Province. However, this time she went to Xi Hang, she took all these loyal followers with her. It means she hasn’t planned to leave her own people behind, nor let them manage everything in the Eastern Province. So, she must intend to hand over all her turf and establishments to an outsider.”

”An outsider?” Aomuhan immediately became alert, ”Third Brother, what kind of outsider do you think she’ll choose? What if I go talk to her? If our people from Shu enter the Eastern Province, she could gain a lot of benefits from collaborating with us, don’t you think she’d be willing to work with us?”

”I think you’d better save your efforts!” Chen San smirked, ”Haven’t you realized yet? Huangfu Ziyu has already picked the person to take over.”

”Who?” Aomuhan’s eyes widened, his face showing an excited and agitated expression, like a rooster that had been riled up. At this moment, anyone chosen by Huangfu Ziyu had already become his perceived rival.

Chen San said, ”Huangfu Ziyu sold all her lands in Shenchuan City to Li Lianshan at a low price. These plots were personally acquired by Huangfu Ziyu through fierce battles years ago. She spent many years setting up operations on these lands, aiming to make a fortune, but she sold them cheaply to Li Lianshan before making any profit. Don’t you see who she has chosen?”

”Are you saying she’s picked Li Lianshan?” Aomuhan asked, his face full of doubt and astonishment.

”Ye Qing? How did you even think of Li Lianshan?” Chen San said, ”With Li Lianshan’s relationship with Ye Qing, her selling the land to Li Lianshan is tantamount to selling it to Ye Qing. The person she chose is actually Ye Qing!”

Ye Qing! Aomuhan’s expression immediately turned cold. He had already been displeased with Ye Qing. Now, hearing that Huangfu Ziyu had chosen Ye Qing, his displeasure grew even stronger, elevating Ye Qing to the status of an enemy.

”What’s so significant about this Ye, nothing more than a nouveau riche who moved from the countryside to the city and unexpectedly shot to wealth on several occasions. What else is he capable of?” Aomuhan angrily said, ”Look at the things he’s done, if not for the support from Sha Men, he probably wouldn’t even be able to stand his ground in Shenchuan City. How could Huangfu Ziyu entrust all her matters in Eastern Province to such a man? Isn’t she afraid that he won’t be able to keep these things safe?”

Chen San did not speak, instead glancing at Chen Si next to him. He had never had contact with Ye Qing and naturally didn’t know about Ye Qing’s situation. Chen Si had had interactions with Ye Qing and should know him better.

”Ye Qing is decisive and forceful in his actions. While his strength is somewhat lacking, if given a solid platform, taking control of the entire underground forces of the Eastern Province might not be so difficult!” Chen Si paused then added, ”Moreover, he has the support of Liu Changping and Zhou Bolong, a point even Huangfu Ziyu does not have, and that’s an advantage for him!”

Aomuhan disdainfully said, ”Hmph, even if he has support from all the gods, what does it matter? If his own strength is insufficient, no matter if he’s given the whole country, what good would it do? I could crush him anytime I please, so what control can he have!”

Neither Chen San nor Chen Si paid Aomuhan any mind; both were deep in thought about Ye Qing’s situation.

”Wang Tian’an has already entered Shenchuan City, yet they have merely been probing and have shown no intention of taking action. Meanwhile, Xu Cunxiao’s movements have been more frequent. It seems he plans to take care of Ye Qing first, then focus all his efforts on us,” Chen Si said, ”Brother, look, should we help Ye Qing out and get this matter resolved? Firstly, it shows goodwill to Ye Qing, possibly earning his help. Secondly, it would serve as a lesson to those from Western Province, curbing their arrogance a bit!”

”Sister, are you really thinking of helping Ye Qing?” Aomuhan’s eyes widened as he said, ”Sister, we came to Eastern Province, and while revenge is secondary, the primary goal is to expand our influence to lay the groundwork for Dad and Uncle Helian to enter the Southern Six Provinces. This Ye Qing has no real skills, keeping him around will only be a hindrance. We’ll need to eliminate him eventually, so why not let Xu Cunxiao handle him directly? Why bother with his affairs!”

Chen Si ignored Aomuhan and kept her eyes on Chen San, waiting for his answer.

After a long silence, Chen San slowly waved his hand and said, ”If Ye Qing can’t even handle this challenge, then he’s not fit to collaborate with us. Let’s not interfere, just watch quietly to see if he can solve this situation!”

The two paid no attention to Aomuhan, which angered him greatly. He walked up to Chen San and said, ”Third Brother, you’re really overestimating that Ye Qing. Can he even resolve this situation? That Black Bear has been caught by the police, and he has virtually no able people left around him. How can he resolve this situation? Third Brother, in my opinion, we shouldn’t wait any longer, we should strike first and teach those people from Western Province a lesson!”

”Muh Han, don’t be too hasty!” Chen San, exasperated, said, ”Everything will be clear within these few days. Then, we’ll see if Ye Qing is really qualified to collaborate with us. You better calm down!”

”Third Brother, if I weren’t calm, I would’ve gone out and killed that damn Ye Qing already,” Aomuhan said. ”Third Brother, you and Sister, the two of you are just overvaluing that Ye Qing. I bet with you, this situation, Ye Qing absolutely won’t be able to handle it. I predict that soon, even without the Western Province people moving, just the seven sects will be enough to kill Ye Qing. I’m sure, you two are just wasting time. You won’t listen to me, and you’ll definitely regret it later!”

Chen San smiled helplessly and said, ”Let’s talk about future matters in the future. Since we’ve already waited until now, a few more days won’t matter. Muh Han, these next few days, don’t just run out rashly, pay close attention to Xu Cunxiao’s actions. Xu Cunxiao is full of tricks, and once he arranges his ploy against Ye Qing, he might start targeting us anytime. You need to be careful!”

Aomuhan haughtily said, ”Rest assured, this Xu Cunxiao, he’s not worth mentioning. If he dares to play any tricks, I’ll kill him first. He can’t play any tricks with me!”
