Urban Martial Saint

Before Cui Yulong could utter a word, Black Asura stood up abruptly, his voice filled with rage as he said, ”What bullshit about ’boundless is the sea of suffering; turn your head, and there is the shore,’ Monk, get lost quickly, or I’ll be the first to kill you!”

The handsome Monk still wore a faint smile as he replied, ”Patron, one should not curse. Cursing is a violation of the precepts against anger. To violate this precept is to enter the Hell of Tongue Ripping after death!”

”You’re lecturing me about precepts?” Black Asura walked up to the Monk and shouted, ”I’ve killed more people than you’ve ever met, and you dare preach to me about precepts? What about the Hell of Tongue Ripping? I go by Black Asura, even if I fell into hell, I’d still be the most wicked Life Claiming Ghost there. You, this worthless Monk, think you’re something special just because you can chant ’Amitābha’? If you’re looking for death, keep your distance, and don’t irritate me!”

Any person scolded with such fury would likely feel insulted. Yet, the handsome Monk seemed as if he hadn’t heard a thing, his face still adorned with that calm smile, as he pressed his palms together and said, ”Patron, in Hell, all beings are equal. Whether you controlled kingdoms or owned the world in life, in Hell, you will be just like everyone else, with no one most fierce or most evil, only the good and bad deeds one has sown. Today’s good is tomorrow’s fate; today’s evil is tomorrow’s fruit. The Causal Cycle turns unceasingly; I hope the Patron will contemplate deeply on this!”

”Damn, preaching about karma again? Let me tell you, the thing I believe in the least in this life is karma. I’ve killed so many, yet I’ve never seen any bad karma befall me. Is this your Buddhist sect’s so-called karma? Bah, it’s less reliable than the knife in my hand!” Black Asura said, and all of a sudden, he drew a Short Dagger from his waist and stabbed it straight at the Monk’s neck.

The Monk continued to smile serenely as if he hadn’t seen the dagger at all, not even flinching an inch. Black Asura was quick, his Short Dagger slashing six times in a blink, each stroke just grazing past the Monk’s face. He originally wanted to frighten the Monk, make him panic and act rashly, but the Monk’s composure caught him completely off guard, and instead, it made Black Asura feel embarrassed.

”Stinking Monk, do you want to die that badly?” Black Asura roared angrily, gripping the Short Dagger and slashing directly toward the Monk’s neck. This time, he was not trying to scare him but was truly intending to slice through the Monk’s neck in one go.

This time, the Monk finally moved. Everyone saw clearly as he slowly lifted his hand—an action that seemed very slow but just perfectly matched Black Asura’s swift speed. As Black Asura’s Short Dagger was about to hit his neck, the Monk’s fingers pinched precisely on the tip of the blade. The rapidly approaching Short Dagger appeared as if wedged into a crevice at that moment. No matter how furiously Black Asura struggled to pull it back, he could not budge it at all. The Monk’s fingers, like a vise gripping the dagger, remained absolutely still, causing all the onlookers to change their expressions.

Especially the people from the Killing Gate, they were unaware of the Monk’s identity or having seen him take action. Thus, they were all guessing at his actual strength. With this move, they fully recognized the Monk’s prowess. Particularly shocked was the Right Protector Blood-Sealed Throat, who knew well Black Asura’s capabilities, being one of the most formidable among the Killing Gate Seven Hidden. Even he may not have been able to catch Black Asura’s Short Dagger, let alone do it so effortlessly. The Monk’s strength was truly terrifying!

The Right Protector frowned deeply. Where had the Shen Family found such an ally? It seemed that tonight’s fight with the Shen Family would not be as simple as he had imagined!

The People of the Shen Family were also stunned. Aside from Shen Da and Shen Er, the others did not recognize the Monk. They had been somewhat surprised and resistant when they saw Shen Da treating him with such respect. Now that they had witnessed his actions, the Shen Family was completely convinced. The Monk’s strength was undoubtedly above most within the Shen Family!

Black Asura was shocked, trying hard to pull back his Short Dagger, but he was unable to budge it even slightly. Yet the Monk still had that faint smile, saying softly, ”People do not believe in karma, yet has karma ever spared anyone? Only by laying down the killing blade can one immediately become a Buddha, escape the Causal Cycle, and wash away sins!”

”Fuck your nonsense!” Black Asura cursed angrily, failing to pull out the Short Dagger, he kicked towards the Monk’s stomach.

The Monk didn’t dodge and took the kick squarely. However, the Monk showed no reaction, whereas Black Asura was sent flying backward, crashing into a table and collapsing it.

The next moment people on both sides were more shocked than ever. The three men who came with the Right Protector also frowned deeply—this Monk’s strength far exceeded their expectations.

Cui Yulong also frowned, staring at the Monk for a while before speaking in a deep voice, ”Which temple does Wuhua Zen Master hail from?”

”Amitābha!” The Monk chanted the Buddha’s name, smiling faintly as he responded, ”Wandering without trace, residing nowhere, the vast world is my temple.”

”So he’s just a wandering monk, making himself sound so grand!” grumbled Ghost King Li Ruoyuan, keeping a good distance from the Monk. Having seen Black Asura suffer at the Monk’s hands, he certainly didn’t dare provoke him again.

”Why does Wuhua Zen Master seek me out?” Cui Yulong asked in a stern voice, ”Mr. Cui has no grudges with the Master; could it be that you wish to assist the Shen Family?”

”The matters between Jiangsha Gate and the Shen Family are but fleeting clouds; I shall not intervene. I came to find Patron Cui because you have a predestined affinity with our Buddhist Sect, and so I wish to guide you on a journey!” Wuhua Monk said with a smile, ”Patron Cui, would you dare to accompany me?”

Cui Yulong furrowed his brows tightly, hugging the Ink Pattern Black Gold Blade in his arms, and said in a deep voice, ”You say I have a connection with Buddha? But the blade in my hand doesn’t think so. Tonight, I’m here to kill, not to chant sutras!”

”Come with me, and perhaps Patron Cui can let go of all grudges,” Wuhua Monk said with a smile.

”Impossible!” Cui Yulong shook his head firmly and said, ”Tonight, I must kill several People of the Shen Family!”

”The People of the Shen Family are right here, they won’t leave, nor will they run. Whether it’s earlier or later, killing is still killing,” Wuhua Monk said with a faint smile. ”If Patron Cui is not in such a hurry, why not come with me? If I cannot convert you, then you can come back and kill them, and I will not stop you!”

”Cui Yulong, don’t listen to his nonsense!” Right Protector said gravely, ”He’s just trying to lure you away on purpose, then let the Shen Family free up their hands to deal with us. No more nonsense, let’s start the fight!”

Cui Yulong, as if he hadn’t heard the Right Protector’s words, stared at Wuhua Monk for a while, and then suddenly tossed the wooden box to the side and said coldly, ”Fine, I shall see how you can convert me!”

”Amitabha, Patron Cui is destined to be one of our Buddhist Sect, converting you, how could it be difficult?” Wuhua Monk laughed heartily, clapped his hands, and walked straight out the main door. His white clothes were purer than snow, moving without wind, and though his movements were not fast, he covered ground quickly. After just a few steps, he had already left the hall.

Ye Qing was watching by the doorway. When Wuhua Monk walked out, without looking anywhere else, he only smiled at Ye Qing. It seemed that he had already discerned Ye Qing’s identity, though he said nothing about it.

Even so, it gave Ye Qing a great shock. This monk was really something. He looked directly at Ye Qing after coming out, indicating that he had seen through Ye Qing’s disguise while inside. The most crucial point was that Ye Qing had never met him before, so how did he know Ye Qing’s identity?

Cui Yulong, holding the wooden box, quickly followed the Monk out. His movements were much quicker than the Monk’s, and he wasn’t any slower, catching up within a few strides.

As he stepped out of the hall, Cui Yulong only then saw Ye Qing and appeared rather astonished. However, he didn’t say anything, but nodded slightly at Ye Qing and continued to follow the Monk with the box in his arms.

With Cui Yulong’s departure, the hall suddenly became noisy, and the members of Sha Men were dumbfounded. They knew that Cui Yulong was currently the most powerful person in Sha Men. Now, the strongest among them had been taken away, and their strength had dropped by a whole thirty percent!

”Damn it, this bastard, just left like that, not even caring about us? Was he here to help us, or to oppose us?” Netherworld Scholar cursed in anger. He was very dissatisfied with Cui Yulong. Cui Yulong had given the Seven-Star Ancient Sword to Ye Qing, causing him a great loss, so he took every chance he got to slander Cui Yulong behind his back.

Right Protector’s brows were tightly knit, and his expression was very cold to look at. He had originally thought that Cui Yulong alone could withstand two of the Shen Family’s Ten Outstanding Members, but now that Cui Yulong had run off first, the ensuing fight seemed to be tough.

”Without him, we can still fight!” Right Protector shouted angrily and slapped the table, ”Enough talk, let’s all attack together!”

As he spoke, Right Protector drew the Liuguang Sword and charged straight at Shen Da.

Shen Da also held a sword, and seeing Right Protector coming at him, he sighed softly, drew his sword, and engaged with Right Protector in combat.

As soon as Right Protector made his move, the people of Sha Men did not hesitate and immediately rushed forward, engaging in a melee with the People of the Shen Family. The three helpers Right Protector had borrowed from the Western Province also joined the fray at the same time, fighting against the People of the Shen Family.

Ye Qing stood outside, watching the chaotic battle between the two sides, not daring to join in to help for the moment. His strength had greatly increased, but the People of the Shen Family and the members of Sha Men were all strong. In such a melee, he would not be able to change anything. Moreover, Ye Qing was paying the most attention to the people from the Western Province.

People like Xu Cunxiao from the Western Province had deliberately rekindled the grudge between Sha Men and the Shen Family, surely with ulterior motives. Tonight, if Sha Men fought hard with the People of the Shen Family, there’s no doubt that those from the Western Province would be hiding in the dark, waiting to reap the benefits. Ye Qing’s main target tonight was the people from the Western Province, and he could not let their schemes succeed under any circumstances!
