Urban Martial Saint

The pile of boulders was filled with soft mud, so when Ye Qing fell down, he didn’t get injured, but the fall jolted him back to consciousness.

Seeing Shen Qingyi hurrying over, Ye Qing doubted whether he was experiencing an illusion. He shook his head vigorously, trying to get a clear view. However, this only made his vision blurrier, and the sound of ”Ye, Ye” calling out to him echoed in his ears, until he slipped back into unconsciousness again.

Shen Qingyi walked over to Ye Qing and helped him up with effort. Seeing him fall unconscious again, she couldn’t help but panic, feeling somewhat at a loss. However, when she noticed the small porcelain bottle in her hand, she suddenly regained her spirit.

She quickly removed the cloth stuffed in Ye Qing’s mouth and opened the small porcelain bottle, stuffing several Ziyu Chenxiang Pills into Ye Qing’s mouth.

As the Ziyu Chenxiang Pills entered his mouth, Shen Qingyi waited anxiously beside him. However, after a full five minutes, there was still no reaction from Ye Qing, which made her even more anxious.

”Ye, Ye, how are you? Don’t scare me!” Shen Qingyi called out continuously, but Ye Qing remained unresponsive.

Shen Qingyi bit her teeth and poured a few more Ziyu Chenxiang Pills into his mouth. But just like before, after a while, Ye Qing still showed no signs of movement.

Seeing this, tears began to well up in Shen Qingyi’s eyes. The medicinal effect of the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill was very strong, but after Ye Qing had taken so many to no effect, she was terrified that something might be seriously wrong with him.

”Ye, I don’t want you to die!” Shen Qingyi, biting down on her teeth, simply tipped the entire contents of the bottle into Ye Qing’s mouth, all forty or fifty pills at once.

What Shen Qingyi didn’t know was that it wasn’t the Ziyu Chenxiang Pills that were ineffective, but that the pills had never made it into his stomach. Since Ye Qing was unconscious, and she shoved the medicine in without administering any water, the pills were just compacted in his mouth and couldn’t have any effect. However, this time with so many pills pushed into his mouth at once, some were forced directly into Ye Qing’s stomach.

After approximately fifteen minutes, Ye Qing finally came to. He opened his mouth to speak, but the Ziyu Chenxiang Pills were pushed against his throat, nearly choking him. He swallowed several times in succession, finally managing to consume all the pills without wasting a single one.

”Ye, you’re awake!” Shen Qingyi was overjoyed and hurriedly asked, ”How are you feeling? Does it still hurt? Are you okay now?”

In reality, just one Ziyu Chenxiang Pill was enough to heal Ye Qing’s injuries. Since he had taken several pills, his injuries naturally healed even faster. He looked at the anxious Shen Qingyi beside him, and a warmth filled his heart. In a low voice he said, ”I’m fine now, Miss Shen, thank you.”

”Really?” Shen Qingyi was overjoyed; she was genuinely worried about Ye Qing.

Ye Qing stood up and shook his limbs. A single Ziyu Chenxiang Pill could have cured him; swallowing several at once meant his injuries healed even faster. However, he now felt a hot sensation in his belly. He had just awoken and swallowed dozens of Ziyu Chenxiang Pills at once; they were all in his stomach now, their medicinal effects about to kick in.

”I’m really fine.” Ye Qing only felt a rush of strength throughout his body, stronger than before he was injured, not understanding what was happening and attributing it to the effects of the Ziyu Chenxiang Pills.

”That’s good.” The stone that had been weighing on Shen Qingyi’s heart finally dropped as she said, ”Ye, let’s hurry and leave this place then. Once my family realizes you’re not here, they’ll surely come looking for you!”

Ye Qing didn’t dare delay and turned to leave, but Shen Qingyi quickly grabbed hold of him.

”Ye, you can’t go that way!” Shen Qingyi exclaimed urgently, ”This pile of boulders is the Eight Trigrams Array of our Shen Family, said to be personally left by my grandfather, modeled after the Eight Trigrams Array of Zhuge Kongming. Anyone who enters, if they do not navigate according to the Eight Trigrams, will become lost and never find their way out. Don’t walk around randomly, follow me!”

To prevent Ye Qing from getting lost within, Shen Qingyi took his hand and led the way ahead.

Ye Qing was somewhat distracted, Shen Qingyi’s supple, boneless little hand, warm and smooth. Gently holding it made one reluctant to let go. At this moment, Ye Qing actually forgot where he was, what he was doing; his mind filled with a roaring as if experiencing an out-of-body sensation.

Shen Qingyi, however, did not notice all this and led Ye Qing out of the pile of boulders before she finally took a long breath. Turning her head to speak to Ye, she suddenly realized she was still holding his hand. She exclaimed softly, quickly letting go, her pretty face instantly turning crimson.

Although she was naive to the ways of the world, she was still a young girl. Holding hands with a man would naturally cause her face to turn red and feel shy. In fact, inside, she was somewhat savoring the moment.

”Ye, this... this is the road to leave Shen Family Manor. If you follow this road, you can leave Shen Family Manor...” Shen Qingyi dared not look at Ye Qing, spoke softly with her head lowered: ”You should leave here first. I will explain your situation with our Shen Family to grandmother. She will definitely investigate thoroughly, and by then, she will definitely clear your name!”

Ye Qing was still immersed in the feeling of their hands clasped together, and only upon hearing Shen Qingyi’s words did he come back to his senses. He looked at Shen Qingyi’s delicate face, his heart also pounding covertly. He struggled to suppress the throbbing in his chest, and after a moment of hesitation, he replied in a low voice, ”But, I have a friend locked in the Shen Family’s dungeon, I need to rescue him.”

”Is he locked in the dungeon?” Shen Qingyi said: ”If he is in the dungeon, you don’t need to worry. People held in our Shen Family’s dungeon are absolutely not in life-threatening danger. When grandmother comes back, I will explain the situation to her, and then he will be released. You must not linger near the Shen Family right now, otherwise, if Third Uncle and the others catch you, that would be troublesome.”

Ye Qing knew that Shen Qingyi’s words were true. He had heard Shen San and Shen Wu discussing it before, after all, Du Tianyi was Tie Yongwen’s disciple, and they would not be harsh on him. Being locked in the dungeon meant there was no immediate threat to his life. Thus, without much hesitation, Ye bid farewell to Shen Qingyi and directly turned to leave.

The Shen Family had marked Ye Qing for death, and if he lingered near the Shen Family, that would truly be dangerous. Therefore, he planned to leave first and then find a way to resolve the matter and rescue Du Tianyi.

After bidding Shen Qingyi farewell, Ye took advantage of the night to hurriedly leave Shen Family Manor through the small woods. He dared not take the same path, for if he encountered anyone from the Shen Family and they caught him again, his hard-won escape would be in vain.

Fortunately, he did not encounter anyone on the way. However, the area outside Shen Family Manor was quite remote, and since Ye dared not travel on the main roads, he walked through the woods the entire way. After more than an hour, not only had he not left the woods, but the surroundings had become even more secluded.

This situation was not a problem for Ye, as he was used to operating in forests during his time in the military, so he would not get lost even in unfamiliar territory. However, Ye’s current situation was somewhat special. In fact, ever since leaving the pile of rocks, he had felt a burning sensation in his stomach. By now, the burning had escalated to a scalding pain, making Ye break out in a sweat as if there was a knife constantly scraping inside his stomach.

Ye did not know why he felt like this. He had only been hanging in the Eight Trigrams Array for a day, and although he had internal injuries, they were now healed. Besides, he had not hurt his stomach at all from the beginning, so why was it in pain now? Weren’t the Ziyu Chenxiang Pills of the Shen Family supposed to heal any injury? He had taken so many, yet they couldn’t even treat a stomach ache?

The pain in his stomach grew more and more intense, until at last, each step forward was extremely difficult for Ye. With every step, the pain in his stomach sent shivers through his body, and cold sweat poured down his forehead like rain, soaking his clothes. The mountain breeze was supposed to be cold in the early winter forest, but Ye, drenched in sweat, did not feel the slightest chill. On the contrary, his body was so hot that it was unbearable, as if he was in a furnace.

”Huff, puff...” Eventually, Ye’s breathing turned into heavy panting. He leaned against a tree, unable to take another step. He tried hard to circulate the True Qi within his body to suppress the pain and heat, but the True Qi seemed out of control, surging within him and unable to be used to suppress the pain.

Clutching his teeth, Ye leaned against the tree and slowly sat on a nearby stone tablet, hoping to rest for a bit. However, as soon as he sat down, his consciousness began to blur, his eyes involuntarily closing, and he slowly collapsed beside the tree, falling unconscious once more.

On the Shen Family’s side, Shen Qingyi, having let Ye go, did not dare to delay and hurried back to her courtyard. Fortunately, no one noticed her departure, which gave Shen Qingyi some peace of mind.

Lili was anxiously standing at the door. Seeing Shen Qingyi return relaxed her, and she quickly came over to support Shen Qingyi, taking her to the bedroom.

”Miss, change your clothes first and then have something to eat, just act like you never went out,” Lili whispered to Shen Qingyi: ”The family will soon notice that Ye has been rescued, and Third Master will definitely come to check on us. You must not let Third Master see through you!”

”I know!” Shen Qingyi nodded vigorously, replying to Lili: ”Lili, thank you!”
