Urban Martial Saint

Shen Qingyi actually has a blood disease?

No wonder such a small wound kept bleeding incessantly earlier. It’s also no wonder she never learned any martial arts despite being from the Xi Hang Shen Family. She had been with the Shen Family all her life and had never left. And she always carried so many Ziyu Chenxiang Pills with her. So it was all because of her blood disease!

This time, Shen San no longer dodged but took several kicks from Shen Qi. Only after Shen Qi stopped did he slowly wipe away the trace of blood from his mouth corner and said with his head hanging low, ”It’s my fault, my fault...”

Shen Si and Shen Wu hurriedly held back Shen Qi, who had also been scared enough just now.

”Old Qi, Third Brother is also considering the family’s interests, and he certainly didn’t want to harm Qingyi,” said Shen Wu. ”That Ye Qing is our Shen Family’s true enemy. Not only is he closely connected with the Sha Men people, but he also killed Old Eight, Old Jiu, and Anyun. The most crucial thing is, he used despicable means to gain Qingyi’s trust and made her rescue him. Look, he’s eaten all of Qingyi’s medicine this time, this man is truly despicable!”

Shen Qi furrowed his brows and after a moment of silence, he said, ”Hmph, he miscalculated this time. As if the Shen Family’s Ziyu Chenxiang Pills are that easy to consume? The Ziyu Chenxiang Pill is indeed a miraculous healing medicine, but if consumed in excess, it’s no different from poison. He took fifty or sixty pills at a time; if he survives, that would truly be a miracle!”

Only then did Shen San and the others remember this point, and they couldn’t help but get excited. Shen San clapped his hands and said, ”Right, the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill is a strong tonic. But it’s too potent; how could an ordinary person’s body endure it? He ate so many at once; he will definitely be burnt to death by its potency. Hahaha, even if this Ye surname escapes, he won’t live long. All we have to do later is go out and collect his corpse!”

Shen Qi waved his hand and said, ”Keep your voices down, don’t let Qingyi hear.”

Shen San quickly shut up, his temper was quite bad. But he had truly been terrified by the situation just now and didn’t dare to say anything superfluous at this point.

Of course, this time, he also didn’t dare to do anything to the maids anymore. He had his men release them and left them there to take care of Shen Qingyi before he and the others left directly.

Shen Qi, however, did not leave. Instead, he stood outside Shen Qingyi’s courtyard. The Shen Family was about to face a major enemy, and he did not dare to be negligent; he was genuinely afraid that something untoward might happen to Qingyi, so he decided to stay on guard here.

In the early hours, around two o’clock, an elderly man with a lean figure was walking down from a distant mountain, accompanied by a girl with a vacant expression in her eyes but a beautiful face. Their destination was the Shen Family Manor. Yet, before they could leave the forest, the old man saw from afar a person lying under a distant tree. That person was Ye Qing.

The old man slightly frowned, wondering, ”What a coincidence to run into him here?”

”Who did we run into?” the girl asked curiously from behind.

The old man smiled and said, ”It’s that Brother Ye you’ve been talking about all the time!”

The girl’s face turned slightly red, and she said, ”Grandfather, please don’t joke about others like that. I just said that Brother Ye is a good person; I haven’t been talking about him all the time!”

The old man laughed and said, ”Hahaha, no talking, no talking.”

The girl pouted and said, ”How can Brother Ye be here?”

”How would I know!” The old man shrugged his shoulders and said, ”But by the looks of it, his situation isn’t too good!”

”Ah? What happened? What’s wrong with Brother Ye?” The girl asked anxiously with concern.

”He’s fainted, what else could be wrong!” said the old man.

”Fainted? Why did he faint? Did something happen to Brother Ye?” The girl immediately became anxious and hurriedly said, ”Grandfather, then why aren’t you hurrying over to see if he’s injured?”

”Ah, here we go with the worrying!” The old man sighed and said, ”You don’t have to rush me; he is Li Changqing’s successor. In good conscience, I won’t stand by and do nothing. You girl, having only met him a few times, are so concerned. Ah, it’s true what they say, a woman’s heart is like a needle at the bottom of the ocean!”

The girl blushed, her head lowered as she said, ”Grandfather, I just think Brother Ye is a good person, so I’m concerned about him!”

”Oh, a good person? There are plenty of good people in this world. Why don’t I see you showing concern for others?” The old man teased.

”I do care!” the girl hugged the elder’s arm, smiling, ”Grandfather, you are the greatest good person in the world, so the one I’ve always cared about the most is Grandfather!”

The girl’s coquettishness was enjoyed by the elder, who laughed heartily, and, taking the girl by hand, walked slowly towards Ye Qing’s side.

At this moment, Ye Qing lay on the ground, his whole body crimson, looking like a cooked crab. Wisps of white steam continuously seeped from his body, making for an odd sight, like a lump of coal sporadically evaporating moisture.

Seeing Ye Qing in this state, the elder was also somewhat astonished; it was his first time encountering such a situation. He stepped forward, touched Ye Qing’s forehead, and his expression changed, he murmured, ”Why is it so hot?”

The girl asked curiously, ”Grandfather, what’s wrong with Ye? Why do I feel so hot here?”

”You stay still over there, let me check and then we’ll talk,” the elder guided the girl to one side before returning to Ye Qing’s side, reaching out to grab Ye Qing’s wrist, ready to take his pulse.

However, as soon as his fingers touched Ye Qing’s pulse, they trembled suddenly. Ye Qing’s pulse was so strong that it sent intense vibrations through his fingers, startling the elder once again.

”What exactly is happening?” The elder held Ye Qing’s pulse tightly, feeling the surging True Qi pulsating within, and his confusion deepened as he murmured, ”At your age, how can you possess such strong Inner Strength? Without being able to perform Internal Energy Release, how could there be so much accumulated inside you?”

”Grandfather, didn’t you test Ye before?” the girl said, ”Last time at Third Master Li’s grave, Ye had no Inner Strength at all. Third Master Li probably only taught him the External Skills of Bajiquan. His Inner Strength must have been cultivated through the Breathing Method from the Acupoint Seeking Technique. Ye’s meridians are naturally blocked; by logic, he shouldn’t have been able to develop any Inner Strength. His successful cultivation is already a miracle in itself. Hence, his powerful Inner Strength isn’t incomprehensible, right?”

”It’s not the same!” the elder shook his head, his voice grave, ”The Inner Strength within him is oddly strong; I can’t even suppress it!”

”Ah?” Finally, the girl exclaimed in shock, her face filled with astonishment. She knew very well the elder’s strength; seventy years of cultivation power, enough to look down upon the world’s heroes. Yet Ye was only around twenty-five or twenty-six years old, could his Inner Strength truly be so formidable?

”Moreover, his Inner Strength has completely spiraled out of control inside him, wreaking havoc, and this is causing great harm to his body!” the elder paused for a moment, his voice sinking, ”His body is burning up, his Internal Breath is in disarray, yet it’s also rapidly getting stronger, which is very peculiar. Has he... has he taken an excessive dose of some nourishing medicine, causing this result?”

At this point, the elder’s face suddenly changed, and he quickly turned Ye Qing’s head. With a pinch beside Ye Qing’s mouth, it opened up directly.

The elder peeked into his mouth, his expression changed again, and he exclaimed, ”He… he has actually taken Ziyu Chenxiang Pills!”

”Ziyu Chenxiang Pills?” the girl asked in surprise, ”Isn’t that the Healing Holy Medicine? It shouldn’t be harmful, right?”

”A few pills are certainly Healing Holy Medicine, but too many becomes poison!” the elder said gravely, ”Just like you take medicine when you’re sick, why can you only take so much at a time and not more? Even the best nourishing medicine turns into poison if over consumed. There is a fixed limit on what the human body can bear; exceed this threshold, and it will damage the body!”

”Then… how is Ye doing now?” the girl asked anxiously, ”How many did he actually take?”

The elder, looking at Ye Qing’s reddened body, sighed, ”The most troublesome thing now is that we don’t know how many he took. Otherwise, we could find medicine to counteract the effects of those Ziyu Chenxiang Pills. But not knowing how much he consumed, if we rashly get him to take medicine, an overdose will be even more dangerous.”

”So what do we do now?” the girl asked in urgency.

”You don’t have to be too worried.” The elder looked at Ye Qing and said, ”The Inner Strength within him is very strong; it’s slowly dissipating those medicinal effects. I believe this is the real reason why he has survived until now. If it wasn’t for this, even an elephant would have burned to death by now after overdosing on Ziyu Chenxiang Pills!”

”I see,” the girl breathed a sigh of relief, ”That’s good then. So… when will Ye be alright?”

”That’s hard to predict,” the elder shook his head, ”Although his Inner Strength is dissolving the medicinal effects, this process isn’t without risks either. The effects of the Ziyu Chenxiang Pills are remarkable, and upon being dissolved by the Inner Strength, they will slowly transform into Inner Strength, thus enhancing a person’s power. However, Ye’s overdose on Ziyu Chenxiang Pills means that if the effects of all these pills transform into Inner Strength, his meridians absolutely won’t be able to withstand it and will rupture from the pressure, leading to his death. Now the Inner Strength in his body has already started to become chaotic, and if it causes conflicts in his meridians, he’ll either die or end up crippled!”

”Ah?” The girl, whose expression had just relaxed, immediately tensed up again, anxiously pleading, ”Grandfather, what do we do now? Don’t you have a way to help Ye? He’s a good man; you can’t just watch him die!”

The elder furrowed his brows tightly, staring at Ye Qing for a while, deep in thought. After a long silence, he suddenly hoisted Ye Qing onto his back and said resolutely, ”Enough, enough, even if it means repaying my debt to Third Brother, I’ll do it all for you!”
