Urban Martial Saint

Inside the quilt, Ye Qing heard Shen Da’s words and couldn’t help but silently praise him multiple times. The words of Old Madame Shen had already changed Ye Qing’s attitude towards the Shen Family quite a lot. And now, the words of Shen Da made him even more admiring.

Such a character truly deserved the title of the Martial Arts Holy Land of the Southern Six Provinces. Such magnanimity truly could make people wholeheartedly convinced!

Hearing this, Shen Shi lowered his head and said softly, ”Eldest brother, I understand. From now on, I will no longer pursue the matter with Huangfu Ziyu!”

”The matter with Huangfu Ziyu is just one example. When you teach your disciples in the future, you also need to understand this!” Shen Da said solemnly, ”When I was away from home, I often heard that your disciples have been causing trouble everywhere, bullying others with their power, and have attracted a lot of complaints from families that are on good terms with our Shen Family. Especially that Shen Baichuan, who is also your disciple. I heard that after he went to Shenchuan City, he even angered Elder Senior Tie Yongwen, is that true?”

”This… this…” Shen Shi was extremely embarrassed. He knew about this incident, but at the time, he was still angry that Yongwen, being an elder, actually struck a junior. Therefore, he didn’t punish Shen Baichuan at all, nor did he report to the family. Now that Shen Da brought it up, he naturally couldn’t respond.

”Hmph!” Shen Da snorted angrily, ”Elder Senior Tie is a lifelong friend of our Shen Family, and one of Father’s best friends. Elder Senior Tie’s loyalty and righteousness are known to all, and he is respected by heroes from both the south and north. Twenty years ago, during the King of North-South Boxing battle, there were only three witnesses, and Elder Senior Tie was one of them, which shows the place Elder Senior Tie holds in our Father’s heart and his stature in the heart of Northern Fist King, Third Master Li. I had the fortune to meet Elder Senior Tie a few times. Among the many people I have met, he is indeed the most magnanimous and the clearest in discerning right from wrong. Old Madam also repeatedly instructed us to show absolute respect to Elder Senior Tie and not to be impolite in the slightest. Unexpectedly, your disciple Shen Baichuan dared to behave like this, even angering someone like Elder Senior Tie. Is this the kind of disciple you have taught!?”

Shen Da’s words made Ye Qing praise him even more. Shen Da’s words truly struck a chord in Ye Qing’s heart. In Ye Qing’s eyes, Tie Yongwen was truly such a heroic figure. He hadn’t expected that people from the Shen Family also held him in such high esteem!

Shen Shi hung his head, his face turning red from Shen Da’s scolding, yet he was unable to respond a single word. Most of the other members of the Shen Family also felt extremely awkward. Shen Da’s words, though seemingly aimed at scolding Shen Shi, actually implicated many among them who had made similar mistakes.

”As for the matter with Shen Baichuan, I’ll speak to you about it slowly after tonight!” Shen Da waved his hand and said solemnly, ”I won’t say more. This time, the intrusion of Sha Men and Huangfu Ziyu into our Shen Family can be said to be the biggest challenge our Shen Family has faced in twenty years. And this challenge originated from the arrogance and pretense of some of our Shen Family members, leading to this vendetta. So, I hope everyone remembers this lesson. In the future, when outside, remember what you should and should not do!”

The members of the Shen Family nodded one after another, taking Shen Da’s words to heart.

Just then, someone ran in from outside and said, ”Old Madam, the people from Sha Men… the people from Sha Men are outside asking to meet!”

As soon as these words came out, the whole room immediately erupted into a commotion. Old Madame Shen sighed softly and said, ”What is meant to come will always come. Eldest brother, Second brother, take everyone to receive them. If we can negotiate well and resolve the grievances of the past, that would naturally be best. If the talk fails, also do not harm them, just make them retreat knowing the difficulties!”

”Yes!” Shen Da nodded and turned to lead everyone away.

”Lao Qi, wait a moment.” Old Madame Shen stopped Shen Qi, not letting him leave.

The others left directly, leaving only Old Madame Shen, Shen Qi, and Shen Qingyi lying on the bed in the room. Of course, there was also Ye Qing inside the quilt, which only Shen Qingyi and Ye Qing themselves knew about.

Throughout this whole process, Shen Qingyi was extremely tense. Not just because Old Madame Shen was beside her, but most importantly, because Ye Qing was embracing her with his body just pressing on top of her, causing her to feel an indescribable, strange sensation. And with Old Madame Shen standing nearby, the situation was naturally extremely awkward.

Ye Qing had been distracted by the discussions outside, so he hadn’t paid much attention. However, his lack of attention only made Shen Qingyi feel more embarrassed. He lay beside Shen Qingyi, closely listening to the conversations outside, completely unaware that his hand was on Shen Qingyi’s exposed skin. What made it even more crucial was that his hand was precisely on a rather sensitive spot, making Shen Qingyi extremely bashful. She wanted to push Ye Qing’s hand away, but she feared being discovered by the people outside and, at the same time, reluctantly harbored some unwillingness, so she never pushed Ye Qing’s hand away. However, this only made her situation even more awkward.

Fortunately, Old Madame Shen hadn’t noticed this side. She called Shen Qi over, asked him to close the door, and then sighed and said, ”Lao Qi, when you meet that young girl from the Huangfu Household later, have a good talk with her. Twenty years ago, when your father left the Shen Family and I had just taken control, there were many things I didn’t yet understand, so I neglected her care a bit, which led to those events. Honestly, when she killed her eldest brother and those few people from our Shen Family back then, I was indeed quite angry. That’s why I issued the order that she must not set foot in Xi Hang ever again. Over the years, after giving it much thought, I was perhaps too impulsive. Back then, she was just a child, what could she have understood? But all the responsibilities and grudges were placed solely on her. Over these years, I truly can’t imagine how she managed to get by. I often feel guilty in my heart, guilty towards the people of the Huangfu Household and guilty towards that young girl!”

Hearing Old Madame Shen’s words, Shen Qi couldn’t help but get excited and said, ”Mother, I think Zi Yu doesn’t hold too much hatred towards us. After all, she has a kind heart. She probably came back just to hear a word from us. Now with your words, I’m sure it will resolve the knot in her heart, and she won’t pursue these matters further.”

”I hope so!” Old Madame Shen sighed repeatedly and said, ”The Huangfu Household had a very good relationship with our Shen Family back then. When the Huangfu Household suffered such a calamity, our Shen Family didn’t rush to their aid in time, and your father has always held this in his heart. Who knew, I still couldn’t take good care of the last orphan of the Huangfu Household. Ah, to think it has become such a situation now!”

”Mother, don’t be too hard on yourself. You had just taken charge of the Shen Family back then, and there were so many people secretly trying to seize our family’s assets, it was already very difficult for you. It’s inevitable that you couldn’t manage everything!” Shen Qi said, ”As long as we explain it clearly to Zi Yu, I believe she will understand!”

”That’s good!” Old Madame Shen nodded, stood up, went to Shen Qingyi’s cabinet, and from the bottom drawer, took out a file bag and handed it to Shen Qi.

”This contains all the property and real estate of the Huangfu Household from back then. When the Huangfu Household underwent great changes, your father retrieved these properties for Zi Yu. I have been keeping them for all these years. In recent years, the government has been heavily developing a new district, and many of the Huangfu Household’s properties were within the development area. In order not to hinder the government’s new district construction project, I took the liberty of selling these properties. This money has also been kept in savings, and it’s all in this bag. Over the years, it has amassed to nearly ten billion. Take it and give it to her,” Old Madame Shen said. ”Tell her that the past events were due to my failure to manage the Shen Family well, I don’t blame her. From now on, she can return to Xi Hang at any time. If she wants to rebuild the Huangfu Household, our Shen Family will definitely support her wholeheartedly.”

Shen Qi was overjoyed and quickly took the file bag, saying, ”Mother, rest assured, I will definitely explain it clearly to her!”

Old Madame Shen nodded, slowly waved her hand, and said, ”Go then.”

Shen Qi nodded, held the file bag, and excitedly left Shen Qingyi’s room.

Watching Shen Qi leave, Old Madame Shen sighed deeply and turned to look at Shen Qingyi beside her.

Shen Qingyi hardly paid attention to what Old Madame Shen had said, as her thoughts were all on Ye Qing beside her. However, Ye Qing, who was in the bed, had listened to every word of Old Madame Shen from beginning to end, which changed his view of her once again. This old lady was not as overbearing and unreasonable as the rumors said. On the contrary, she truly was a kind-hearted person. It was just the actions of the other Shen Family members outside that had led people to misunderstand her, the family head.

”Qingyi, I have arranged a vehicle, and in a little while, you will take the car out first, go to Beilin City to stay for a few days,” Old Madame Shen gently stroked Shen Qingyi’s hair and said, ”Your uncles have already arrived; they will personally escort you there, and there will be absolutely no danger on the road.”

Beilin City was where Shen Qingyi’s maternal grandmother lived. Hearing this, Shen Qingyi was stunned and said, ”Grandma, why are you sending me to Beilin City?”

”Hehe…” Old Madame Shen chuckled lightly and said, ”A couple of days ago, I went to Beilin City, visited your maternal grandparents. They really miss you and wanted me to send you over to stay for a few days. I thought since you’ve grown up and have hardly ever been to their place, I helped arrange it for you to stay there for a few days and take it as a chance to relax a bit.”

”Oh.” Shen Qingyi nodded. Being naive, she didn’t think too much about it. Of course, she didn’t understand that at this critical moment with foreign enemies invading, Old Madame Shen sending her away had another deep meaning.

”Alright, pack up a bit,” Old Madame Shen stood up and said, ”In a little while, I will have Lili take you there.”
