Urban Martial Saint

”Qingyi, Ye Qing is our Shen Family’s greatest enemy. No matter what relationship you have with Ye Qing, releasing him is unacceptable!” Shen Wu said in a deep voice, ”Qingyi, after all, you are a member of the Shen Family. It would be best for you to tell us where you’ve hidden Ye Qing. Otherwise, if he escapes, he will be a major threat to our Shen Family in the future!”

”I won’t tell you!” Shen Qingyi shouted, ”Brother Ye is my lifesaver, I won’t let you harm him!”

With those words, it was as if she admitted to releasing Ye Qing. Shen San, Shen Si, and Shen Wu all had drastic changes in their expressions, they looked at each other, eyes filled with anger.

”Qingyi, are you prepared to be an enemy of the family?” Shen San said in a deep voice.

”You must leave now, this is my place. Grandmother said that without my permission, no one may step foot into my courtyard!” Shen Qingyi said indignantly, ”I don’t want to see you!”

”Qingyi, the Old Madam is not at Shen Family Manor, I am in charge of the Shen Family Manor now!” Shen San said in a deep voice, ”Today, the matter of Ye Qing must be settled clearly. Don’t think that just because the Old Madam dotes on you, you can act recklessly and release our Shen Family’s great enemy. Although I cannot do anything to you, but...”

Shen San said, his expression turning cold as he suddenly looked at Lili, saying in a deep voice, ”These maids, their lack of vigilance is a grave offense. Someone, drag them out and chop off their hands and feet!”

The maids were all terrified and trembling, and they quickly knelt down to beg for mercy. Shen Qingyi was also startled; seeing several guards come in, she quickly stood up to protect the maids and shouted, ”No, no one can take them away!”

”Qingyi, you either tell me where exactly Ye Qing has gone or today, your maids will bear the responsibility for your actions!” Shen San looked coldly at Shen Qingyi and said angrily, ”Choose one, hmm, if you want these maids to pay for your mistakes, you can ignore their lives and deaths.”

The guards stood by with predatory gazes. Shen Qingyi was so anxious that she broke into a sweat; she had never faced such a situation before. In the past, at Shen Family Manor, she was the most cherished young lady, and no one dared to trouble her. Now that Old Madam Shen had been away for a few days, she had to face such a choice, feeling helpless for the first time.

”I... I won’t choose! I won’t choose!” Shen Qingyi shouted, ”No one can take them away, Third Uncle, I will tell Grandmother everything that happened today!”

At her words, Shen San became furious and said angrily, ”Qingyi, the Old Madam has left me in charge of the Shen Family, now everything concerning the Shen Family is my decision. Ye Qing is our Shen Family’s great enemy; we must eliminate him. You and your maids conspired to release him; I must punish someone for this. Otherwise, wouldn’t the people of the Shen Family say that I, Shen San, am unjust? I repeat, you either tell me where Ye Qing has really gone, or watch these maids get mutilated and become cripples for life because of your mistake. Hmph, I am considering the clan’s interests; even if the Old Madam finds out, she won’t say I did anything wrong!”

The maids were shaking in fear; the guard’s hands rested on their necks. It looked as though with just an order from Shen San, they would take the maids away.

Shen Qingyi was extremely worried, but revealing Ye Qing’s whereabouts was plainly impossible.

Seeing that Shen Qingyi remained silent, Shen San became even more enraged and gestured, ”Take them away, chop off one of their hands first!”

”Miss!”

”Miss!”

The maids started shouting out in shock, Shen Qingyi hurriedly went over to grab them, saying urgently, ”Don’t take them away, no one is allowed to take them away!”

”Qingyi, come back here!” Shen San bellowed in rage, thundering, ”What are you lot waiting for? Take them away, chop off their hands, all of them, no one is to interfere!”

Receiving Shen San’s command, the guards hesitated no longer and started to pull the maids outside. Shen Qingyi held onto the maids but was powerless to stop them; instead, she was dragged along with them as they were taken out.

Seeing this unfold, Shen San grew even more furious and went over to grab Shen Qingyi’s wrist, yanking her back. With his angry exertion, Shen Qingyi, who was frail-bodied and had never learned martial arts, was unable to withstand his force and was thrown several steps backward, falling to the ground and hitting her head against a cabinet. An injury appeared on her forehead, and blood started to flow.

”Qingyi!” Shen Wusi couldn’t help but cry out, his expression changing. At this, not only he, but also Shen San and Shen Wu were stunned, especially Shen San, whose face went ashen in an instant.

Who was Shen Qingyi? She was the granddaughter most dear to Old Madame Shen, the heir she personally chose for the Shen Family. Although Shen Qingyi had never learned any martial arts, her status within the Shen Family was second to none. Who would dare to harm a single hair on her since childhood? And now, an injury had appeared on her forehead, which left Shen San nearly frozen in shock. How would he explain this to Old Madame Shen?

The guards also stopped in their tracks, looking bewildered at the situation inside the room, and for a moment, everyone was at a loss.

Just then, a few more people entered through the door. The person in the lead was Shen Qi, also known as Shen Anjie, one of the Shen Family’s Ten Outstanding Members and Shen Qingyi’s Uncle Seven.

”Third Brother, Qingyi is just a child, why did you have to bring so many people for such confrontation?” Shen Qi said with a smile before he even entered. He had heard that Shen San brought a lot of people to Shen Qingyi’s place and hurried over, intending to stop Shen San and the others from threatening Shen Qingyi.

Among the Shen Family’s Ten Outstanding Members, Shen San, Shen Si, Shen Wu, and so on were merely Shen Qingyi’s paternal uncles, while Shen Qi was her actual uncle. Therefore, compared to Shen San and the others, Shen Qi was more fond of Shen Qingyi.

As he entered the door, Shen Qi wanted to greet Shen San but was stunned to see Shen Qingyi seated on the ground, blood trickling from his forehead. Shen Qi couldn’t help but freeze for a moment. Instantly, his complexion turned ice-cold as he turned his frigid gaze upon Shen San, Shen Si, and Shen Wu.

”Who did this?” Shen Qi asked in a deep voice, his tone icy to the extreme, his hands already clenched into fists.

Shen Si and Shen Wu looked at Shen San simultaneously; Shen San, somewhat embarrassed, said in a low voice, ”I... I didn’t do it on purpose, I was just...”

”Shen San, are you courting death!” Shen Qi roared furiously, raising his hand and throwing a punch straight at Shen San.

Shen San hastily dodged aside, urgently saying, ”Lao Qi, just listen to me. I really didn’t mean to do it. Besides, Qingyi let Ye Qing escape; that Ye Qing is a huge enemy of our Shen Family. I just wanted to understand, where exactly did that Ye Qing go!”

”Is this how you ask questions?” Shen Qi didn’t pause in his attack, throwing punch after punch, chasing after Shen San and raging, ”Qingyi is your niece, and you even hit her. Are you even human?”

”I didn’t mean to hit her; I just pulled her a bit, I truly didn’t mean to hurt her!”

”Pulled her a bit? What do you mean by pulled her a bit? Qingyi has been frail since childhood and cannot practice martial arts; you know this. Yet, you still pulled her, and this is the result of your ’pulling’?”

”I... I really didn’t do it on purpose...”

Shen San was extremely aggrieved, but Shen Qi simply wouldn’t listen to his explanation. The two chased and fought for a while until Shen Si and Shen Wu, having come back to their senses, hastily intervened to separate them.

”Lao Qi, don’t be so agitated. We should first see how Qingyi is doing!” Shen Wu urged frantically.

Only then did Shen Qi snap back to reality and hurried over to help Shen Qingyi up. The wound on Shen Qingyi’s forehead was not particularly large, but the blood kept flowing out incessantly, showing no sign of stopping, which was truly frightening.

”Quick, get the medicine, get the medicine!” Shen Qi bellowed, ”Where is the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill?”

The people nearby were thrown into disarray, frantically searching for it in Shen Qingyi’s room.

”Found it!” Shen Wu, holding a porcelain bottle, came forward, but upon opening it, they found it was empty, with no medicine inside.

”The medicine? The medicine? Where did the medicine go?” Shen Wu exclaimed in panic.

No one knew, but Shen San turned and grabbed Lili, saying furiously, ”You’ve always been watching over the miss. Where is her medicine? With so much of it, how can it all be gone?”

Lili’s face was filled with panic as she looked at Shen Qingyi and said in a trembling voice, ”Miss... Miss just took the medicine to save Ye Qing. She... she might have given all of it for Ye Qing to take...”

”What!?” All the Shen family members’ eyes widened at once. Shen Qi anxiously exclaimed, ”How could she give all the medicine to him? What about Qingyi? What are we going to do now?”

Shen San, equally panicked, took several deep breaths and said, ”Don’t panic, don’t panic, don’t—just don’t panic. I... I have a few pills left, I still have a few; I’ll go get them right now...”

”Then go get the medicine and stop wasting time!” Shen Qi shouted furiously.

Shen San, not daring to mind Shen Qi’s tone anymore, rushed out like a madman. It wasn’t long before he returned, bottle in hand, saying urgently, ”The medicine’s here; nothing to worry about now, the medicine’s here.”

At this moment, blood was still flowing from Shen Qingyi’s seemingly minor wound, looking alarmingly serious.

Shen San hurriedly took the bottle, retrieved a Ziyu Chenxiang Pill, and fed it to Shen Qingyi. Not much time passed after the pill was swallowed before the bleeding gradually ceased, and the wound began to scab. However, Shen Qingyi’s face had paled from excessive blood loss, although her breathing was still relatively steady, allowing everyone to sigh in relief.

”Thank goodness, thank goodness!” Shen San patted his chest repeatedly, taking several relieving breaths. Because of the extreme tension, he leaned against the wall and gradually sat down.

The others also felt exhausted, taking several long breaths. Just then, Shen Qi suddenly stood up, rushed to Shen San’s side, and kicked him violently several times, bellowing, ”Shen San, have you gone mad? Don’t you know that Qingyi has a blood disorder? Do you want to kill her?”
