The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1883: Chapter 1883: Zhou Tiedong Arrives

Chen Bing felt a secret satisfaction; she certainly had no evidence, as he had burned the document back then.

Over thirty years had passed, plenty of time for much evidence to be utterly destroyed.

Not only that document, but even the old head clerk who took his money to help falsify it, had passed away.

With no witnesses or evidence, not even Wen’an County Lord could have him sentenced, right?

Shu Yu glanced at Chen Bing’s expression, clicking her tongue, feeling displeased.

Qi Lie looked towards Shu Yu, ”Wen’an County Lord, since there is no evidence that Chen Bing forged the document, I indeed find it difficult to judge if he truly committed the act. Do you have anything more to say?”

The Lord had said this, causing both the Chen Family and Pan Family to sigh in relief.

Chen Bing closed his eyes, indeed, even if the county magistrate wanted to avenge a personal grudge, at most he would receive ten lashes to vent her anger, this hurdle should pass.

Just as he thought this, a sudden sound of ’dong dong dong’ drumbeats came from outside the court.

Everyone inside and outside the hall was startled, Qi Lie raised his eyes and asked, ”Who is outside?”

Soon an officer hurried in, respectfully, ”Lord, someone outside is filing a complaint.”

”This case has not yet been concluded, have the complainant wait a moment.”

But the officer looked at Chen Bing and said, ”Lord, the person filing the complaint is against the current defendant, Chen Bing.”

These words caused an uproar among the people instantly.

Someone else wanted to accuse Chen Bing?

Qi Lie said, ”Is that so? In that case, bring them in.”

After a short moment, the officer ushered in a thin, weak-looking man.

Upon hearing the officer’s words, Chen Bing was desperately trying to recall whom he might have offended, who would strike him when he was down at such a crucial moment.

When he saw the person, he was completely shocked, ”Zhou Tiedong, how is it you?”

Not only he, even the other members of the Chen family standing outside the hall wore a look of astonishment, Chen Qiu even retreated a step in fright, while Xun Sheng looked at her suspiciously, ”What’s the matter?”

Chen Qiu hurriedly shook her head, ”No, nothing.”

Xun Sheng thought she was acting strange, and the student beside him seemed deep in thought.

Zhou Tiedong glared at Chen Bing with hatred, kneeling beneath the courtroom, ”Lord, I, Zhou Tiedong, accuse Chen Bing of colluding with constables to falsely accuse me of theft.”

He presented his complaint, Qi Lie finished reading it, with a seemingly amused expression, ”Chen Bing, do you recognize this person?”

”Lord, he’s lying, he’s setting me up. Moreover, moreover, he was clearly imprisoned, how is he here?”

Shu Yu smiled from the side, ”Quite unfortunate, Zhou Tiedong was brought by me, the county magistrate.”

”Wh-what?” Chen Bing abruptly looked at her, his mind buzzing. Was he brought by Wen’an County Lord, she intended not only to accuse him of forging documents but also of colluding with constables?

Xun Sheng heard the student next to him whisper, ”It seems this county magistrate came fully prepared, this Chen Bing is probably finished.”

When Chen Qiu heard this, she swayed slightly.

Xun Sheng also sighed quietly, thinking that the Wen’an County Lord, who had climbed from a humble farmer’s daughter to county magistrate step by step through her capability, would surely not fight a battle without preparation when dealing with someone who wronged her family?

He had just found it strange, with no evidence of document forgery, why would the county magistrate bring Chen Bing to the Office, it couldn’t just be to give him ten lashes, right?

Turns out, this was all part of the plan.
