The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1863: Chapter 1863: Reunion

The Zhou family’s parents quickly rushed out, their faces still streaked with tears, perhaps from being overly emotional.

As soon as they saw Zhou Tiedong, they rushed to the front of the carriage, looking him up and down, ”Dongzi, how are you, huh? These past two months, they haven’t allowed us to visit you in jail, and there were those rebel incidents in the county town. We, we were worried every day, afraid something might happen to you in there. You’ve been released? Come, go home with Mom and Dad.”

Zhou Tiedong quickly said, ”Dad, Mom, don’t worry. I just have a few words to say, and once I’m finished, I must leave.”

”Huh?” The two were stunned.

”Dad, Mom, this is Wen’an County Lord. It was the county lord who brought me out of prison.”

Initially, the Zhou family’s parents did notice many strangers around, but their concern for their son prevailed, and they couldn’t pay attention to anything else.

Upon hearing Zhou Tiedong’s words, they were immediately startled. The county lord?

They exchanged a glance and hurriedly attempted to kneel down.

Shu Yu and Ying Xi supported them, ”Speak quickly if you have something to say.”

Zhou Tiedong held their hands and said, ”I am not yet cleared of charges. I requested Wen’an County Lord to bring me to see you. But don’t worry, nothing will happen to me. In three to five days, I’ll be able to return home.”

”Really?” The Zhou family’s parents were overjoyed.

Zhou Tiedong nodded. County Lord Lu said so.

”That’s good, that’s good.” They quickly realized that it was the Wen’an County Lord who saved their son. Although they didn’t know exactly how, it was certain she was their savior.

This time, ignoring Shu Yu’s attempts to stop them, the two insisted on kneeling down to her and made a sincere bow, ”Thank you, county lord, for saving our Dongzi. Thank you, thank you.”

Shu Yu said, ”You don’t need to thank me. I also need Zhou Tiedong’s help. However, Zhou Tiedong’s charges are not yet cleared. Don’t go around talking about it, to avoid any unforeseen complications that might cause unnecessary hardship for him. If anyone asks, just say you are not clear on the details, only that I permitted him to see you once.”

”Yes, yes, yes, we understand. We promise not to say anything.”

Shu Yu wasn’t worried that this matter would reach Chen Bing so quickly; even if he found out, the outcome wouldn’t change.

She just felt that since Zhou Tiedong hadn’t yet been tried and officially declared innocent by the authorities, spreading news that he’s already fine would later create some trouble.

After meeting with the Zhou family’s parents, Zhou Tiedong had to leave.

He knew the county lord still had to travel, but before leaving, he couldn’t help but ask, ”How is Ayue?”

Ayue was his fiancée.

Mother Zhou nodded, ”She’s fine. She’s often come to check on us. That child is devoted and insisted she would wait for your release. You must not disappoint her in the future.”

Zhou Tiedong, with tears in his eyes, nodded heavily.

Then he lowered the carriage curtain and lay back down.

The carriage started again, and as Zhou family’s parents watched them depart, they truly told the neighboring villagers who came to inquire that they were unclear, only knowing that the person leading was County Lord Lu, and that their son pleaded with the county lord to be able to see them once.

As for the rest, they were still confused themselves.

Shu Yu and her companions continued onward. Because they set out late and were delayed on the road, they only reached the Changjin Prefecture’s prefecture by dusk.
