The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1853: Chapter 1853: Hey, Lord Tang

Shu Yu finally decided to bring along the persistent and eager Third Lu.

“Yu, are we going straight to the prison?” Third Lu, rather excited for some inexplicable reason, typically didn’t care much about things, but he had never been to prison.

Of course, he wouldn’t be happy if he were the one being locked up.

This time, he was in a different role, able to walk in with swagger.

Shu Yu glanced at him sideways, “Of course not, we need to find Lord Tang first.”

Although she’s the county magistrate and could freely enter and exit the prison while helping with matters previously, this time it’s different. Zhou Tiedong, whom she’s looking for, isn’t associated with rebels, and there’s a new county magistrate at the county office now. She and Tang Wenqian have a history, so naturally, she should respect him and not undermine him.

Upon hearing that they were to see Tang Wenqian, Third Lu finally quieted down.

They went to the county office, and Tang Wenqian had been working in the study most of these days. When Shu Yu arrived, he had just finished reading a document and was tired, rubbing his brow.

Upon hearing a familiar voice at the door, he immediately stood up and came out, “Lady Lu, how come you’re here at this hour? Is something the matter?”

Tang Wenqian still habitually called her Lady Lu, familiar with each other, making the address casually comfortable.

Third Lu poked his head from behind Shu Yu and raised his eyebrows in greeting, “Yo, Lord Tang.”

Tang Wenqian was taken aback, “Third Uncle?”

He was quite surprised, “Why are you in Chenggu County, when did you arrive?”

Third Lu was satisfied with the address, knowing this young man wouldn’t change his attitude after becoming an official. He remembered how Tang had helped him when he was pushed into the water by a few rich heirs in the peach forest.

Third Lu’s attitude towards him improved, “We arrived yesterday, not just me but also Yu’s grandmother and father. Yu mentioned you became the county magistrate; your demeanor has certainly changed greatly, indeed it presents an impressive presence. You were good at studying when you were young, and I knew then that you’d surely succeed in the future. Look, it hasn’t been long, and you are an official, truly bringing glory to Shangshi Village. Later, I…”

Shu Yu couldn’t take it anymore, “Third Uncle, let’s focus on the matter at hand.”

“Oh, oh, right, right.” Third Lu wished he could slap himself in the mouth, really, Yu is also a county magistrate now, why was he acting so sycophantic towards Tang Wenqian?

Tang Wenqian, knowing well of Third Lu’s personality, simply smiled at his words before turning to Shu Yu and asking, “What’s the matter you came to see me about?”

Shu Yu briefly explained Zhou Tiedong’s situation, Tang Wenqian frowned as he listened, “If Zhou Tiedong is indeed innocent, he should naturally be released.”

He sighed again, “It’s just that there are probably quite a few such people in that prison.”

The previous county magistrate left him quite a mess to clean up, and when he has the time, all of this will need to be gradually restored.

Shu Yu laughed, “From now on, Chenggu County is in your care; they won’t need to worry.”

Tang Wenqian was invigorated, for indeed, this place would be his responsibility in the future, and he would do his utmost to ensure a safe life for the people.

He looked up, “Alright, then you can go ahead, I’ll write you a note and have the jailer cooperate with you. Ask whatever you wish, and if it is confirmed that he’s innocent, you can directly bring him out.”

“Thank you.”

Tang Wenqian went back to his room to write the note and stamp it, then let Shu Yu proceed freely.

With yet another matter pressing down, Tang Wenqian felt one head and two hands were simply not enough.
