Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 394: Chapter 375: The Reason Why I Won’t Dream of That Scene

Although they only arrived in the afternoon, Hu Si had no intention of letting Luo Qianqian off today and had Feng take her away immediately.

Feng raised an eyebrow at Hu Si. Luo Qianqian was a child who was afraid of blood, was he sure?

Hu Si nodded, sure.

Feng then acted as if he didn’t care. Hu Si was in charge, and they wouldn’t change anything here for a child.

”Go change into clothes that are easy to move in. You’re going out with Feng later. Your task for today is not to faint,” Hu Si said nonchalantly, then pointed to the room next door and pushed a suitcase toward her, ”Your room is here, temporary stay, don’t mess with the stuff inside.”

Luo Qianqian already had a bad feeling when she heard she must not faint, but she didn’t say anything. If it was a necessary experience, she wouldn’t avoid it.

She nodded and went into the next room, calmly changed her clothes, then tidied up the suitcase, placing it in a corner where it wouldn’t trip anyone, and left the room.

Hu Si looked at her shorts and short-sleeved top, his mouth twitching slightly. Indeed, these were easy to move in, but wouldn’t they be prone to injury?

Luo Qianqian, seeing Feng wearing a black tracksuit with long sleeves and pants, spoke up in a daze, ”I didn’t bring any long pants.”

Given the weather, and being in the South, Luo Qianqian didn’t think she was foolish enough to wear long sleeves and trousers. What she had brought were either breathable or pure cotton T-shirts and shorts. She even had only two dresses, thinking they would be for sleeping, plus the white dress she had just changed out of, no more than three in total.

Hu Si apparently thought of what Luo Qianqian was considering and sighed, ”Before we head out, take her to buy a set. She has money.”

Feng nodded in agreement, then took Luo Qianqian away. She didn’t even look back, exuding an aura as if she was facing death.

Ji Xun raised an eyebrow, ”Are you letting her imagine things on her own?”

”I didn’t say anything,” Hu Si touched his nose, not showing the slightest bit of guilt. The weekend was Feng’s regular hunting time, hunt game to improve their meals. However, under Hu Si’s insinuation, the prey had become a specific target.

After buying a black tracksuit, Feng did not let her pay, so Luo Qianqian had no choice but to stuff the money into Feng’s car.

Looking at the ordinary items in the car, Luo Qianqian felt a suffocation. What kind of mission required a backpack and a sack? She felt like she was going to do something shady with Feng.

Feng didn’t explain, and even the words he spoke along the way were very few, completely different from his demeanor at the bar.

”Get out of the car.” Feng stopped the car, put all the items in the backpack, slung it over his shoulder, and then took out a dagger from the car and gave it to Luo Qianqian, ”For protection, keep up.”

It was already dark. Even if he hadn’t said it, Luo Qianqian would have followed obediently. After all, human life was at stake.

But looking at this quiet mountain, it didn’t seem like they were on a mission at all. Could it be digging a hole to bury someone alive???

While Luo Qianqian’s imagination ran wild, Feng had already taken something out of the backpack—raw meat.

Luo Qianqian, with the faint moonlight illuminating Feng’s actions, hesitated for a long time before asking, ”Excuse me, are we catching a wild man?”

Feng, who was walking, stumbled slightly, but quickly recovered and thought, Kids sure have wild imaginations.

Walking through the grass, she tossed the meat into it and soon heard some rustling noises. Luo Qianqian’s eyes widened as she got a bad feeling.

Indeed, a long creature crawled out from the grass. Luo Qianqian could clearly see its flickering tongue and almost burst into tears. My goodness, who goes out to catch snakes in the middle of the night???

Feng was carefully distinguishing the snake, noticing its oval head and common green color, so he didn’t stop it from approaching Luo Qianqian because Hu Si’s mission for him was precisely to scare her.

Seeing Feng pay her no attention, Luo Qianqian was close to tears, gripping her clothes tightly in front of her chest. Only then did she realize she still had a knife in her hand, and so she pulled off the sheath and aimed at the snake, ”You you you, don’t come any closer, or or else, I’ll be rude!!!” Her voice trembled, obviously on the verge of crying.

Feng watched on the side, amused by the scene.

Luo Qianqian threw the sheath out and then the snake, startled, actually slithered away. She finally relaxed, slumped to the ground, and glared at Feng, ”Are you just going to stand by and watch me die?”

But she found Feng looking at her with seriousness, ”Don’t move, don’t breathe.” Then he slowly approached her. Just as she was about to ask what was wrong, she heard a scraping on the ground behind her. Remembering the snake that had fled earlier, she wondered whether scaring off the small one had led its larger counterpart to seek revenge. And after dealing with the big one, would an even older one come for a lesson?

Feng swiftly threw the Dagger, then said to Luo Qianqian, ”Come here, quickly.”

Without a second’s hesitation, Luo Qianqian ran over, not looking back, and it was fortunate she didn’t. The knife pinned the snake at its vital seven inches, less than ten centimeters from where she had let go.

Seeing the triangular head and bright red color, Luo Qianqian truly felt like crying, her goosebumps wouldn’t stop shaking uncontrollably.

After confirming the snake was dead, Feng calmly stuffed the snake into a sack and sealed it before placing it in his backpack.

Once Luo Qianqian understood his intention, she stuck to him like glue, even following without hesitation into what looked like dangerous thickets as long as Feng entered them.

She also, under Feng’s coercion, sloppily killed two non-venomous snakes. Compared to Feng’s deadly precision, the almost mashed snake carcasses made the disparity all too clear.

Luo Qianqian really felt like passing out, but Feng would ominously say by her ear that he wouldn’t carry her back, just wait for her to wake up there. Thinking of the rats, bugs, snakes, and ants on the ground, Luo Qianqian soldiered on, refusing to fall. Finally, when Feng felt they had caught enough, he was satisfied and took Luo Qianqian down the mountain, into the car. Luo Qianqian didn’t hesitate to sit in the front passenger seat; she did not want to travel with a bunch of snake corpses.

Upon returning to their lodging and seeing her resentfully walking back, Hu Si nodded in satisfaction.

Then he returned to his room, taking his toiletries to the only shower, scrubbed his hands obsessively with soap, and then took a shower.

Returning to his room, he still felt reluctant but washed his sportswear before lying down on the bed, drowsy.

She had to admit that she indeed didn’t dream of splattering blood all over herself from killing.

But instead, she dreamed of being chased by various colored snakes all night, waking up in fear many times. In the morning, her pajamas were soaked with cold sweat.

She woke up early, and it seemed the others hadn’t gotten up yet, so she posted a sign on the shower room door before going in to take a shower, and to wash her already damp pajamas.

Then she returned to her room. Soon, she was lured to the main house by the scent of food, eyeing the white porridge and some kind of soup on the table, along with a crisp side dish of bamboo shoots. She swallowed her salvia.

Feng smiled, ”Come and taste my cooking skills.”
