Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 388: Chapter 370: Coma

Qin Nuan’s phone vibrated in her hand, and she quickly picked it up, only to find it was just an advertisement. Worried about Luo Qianqian, who had not replied for eight hours, she immediately picked up her phone and dialed. The phone rang twice before it was hung up, intensifying her unease.

Xu Tianyi was packing his luggage to take away. Suddenly, his heart sped up when he picked up the discolored plush cat, causing him to freeze. After a moment, he quickly took out his phone to send greetings to Luo Qianqian and then called the hospital to check on his grandmother. His unease grew stronger.

Someone suddenly pushed open the door of Luo Shufan’s room, only to find him covered in cold sweat, frantically searching for something in front of the computer, appearing very anxious. Glancing at the water cup on the floor, the person stood frozen outside the door.

Luo Yanran was initially asleep but woke up to the sound of a dog barking. Looking at Baozi running in circles and howling, she frowned in disgust, ”Do you need to go to the bathroom again? What a hassle.”

Hu Si sighed softly while looking at the person lying on the bed, ”You are just adding to the chaos!” Although he was looking at Luo Qianqian, he spoke these words to Jin who was standing beside him, his tone full of disdain. After checking the wound and finding it not very deep, he disinfected it, stitched it up, and carefully applied an anti-inflammatory ointment around the wound before tenderly applying a gauze.

Feng looked at Luo Qianqian, raising an eyebrow, ”So no need for testing?”

”Let her go to the old man’s place when she wakes up. There aren’t such dangerous people over there, waving knives and guns around,” said Hu Si, shaking his head as he packed up his tools. Noticing Luo Qianqian’s furrowed brow, he guessed she was having another nightmare. Pityingly, he wiped the sweat from her forehead and turned on the air conditioner.

”Isn’t that place... not dangerous?” Feng thought about the fighting capabilities of the old men and women, shook his head, and muttered a comment before falling silent. After all, he also had his part to blame, having already been quite satisfied from a child’s perspective, yet still made things harder by letting Jin, a total villain, scare them.

”Let’s go out and talk.” Seeing Luo Qianqian entering sleep, Hu Si now unable to prevent her nightmares, could only do something in line with his conscience, like taking Jin out for a talk.

Watching Hu Si rub his hands, eager to start, Feng left a look of wishing good luck and quickly disappeared. After all, it wasn’t appropriate to take a stand in his wrongdoing, as it was a one-sided fight.

Jin knew this too, and just as he was about to seek Feng’s help, he saw Feng’s meaningful look and his swift disappearance at the door.

Feeling like crying but having no tears, Jin looked at Hu Si, who wore the expression of a devil. The smell of the alcohol used for disinfecting Luo Qianqian still lingered, and his white shirt was stained with some red, making him look like a murderous devil.

Jin’s mouth twitched, ”We are in a hotel, isn’t this inappropriate?”

With a crooked smile, Hu Si picked up the nearby medical kit, ”Then shall we go back and fight?”

”...Bro, real bro, don’t be like this, look, she’s fine, isn’t she?” Jin pointed to Luo Qianqian, who was sitting on the bed.

But he saw that the girl had already opened her eyes, her unfocused pupils filled with unsettled shock. It had been a long time since she had this dream, and the impact was still so intense. Luo Qianqian stared at the ceiling, which didn’t look like a hospital; she remembered...

She had been taken away from the bar, then that man had... Yes! Blood! Right! Where was that man?

She looked around but pulled at the wound on her neck, which was close to her brain and for which Hu Si had not administered any anesthesia; now awake, she truly felt the pain.

Suddenly, she saw two people in the room, that man! And... Hu Si, with blood on him. Her eyes filled with horror, her body trembled, and then she collapsed.

”Uncle Hu...” Finally, Luo Qianqian remembered who Hu Si was, looking at him as if seeing a family member and propping herself up on her arm, tears streaming down.

Hu Si, surprised by Luo Qianqian’s address, raised an eyebrow. Usually, when in a good mood, she would call him Doctor Hu, and in a bad mood, she would call him fox, the rascal kid; did she have another name for him?

”Would you dare to follow a stranger again?” Hu Si asked sternly, pointing at Jin, ”Men like him, who are wealthy, have a charming face surrounded by women and do not keep themselves clean, are scoundrels, got it?”

Luo Qianqian nodded blankly, tears still on her face. Sighing, Hu Si sat at the edge of the bed, ”You know what you shouldn’t eat or touch, right?”

Luo Qianqian, as if just awakened from a dream, suddenly pointed at Jin and screamed, ”He wants to kill me!!!”

Jin, unable to protest, silently distanced himself from the bedside.

Hu Si raised an eyebrow, ”Avoid spicy, stimulating foods, and don’t eat cold ones. I think you better keep drinking porridge, and also, don’t touch water recently.”

Crying her face off, ”It’s so hot, and if I don’t touch the water... I’ll stink...”

”If you’re not afraid of scars, I won’t care,” Hu Si said with an indifferent look as if the injury wasn’t his concern.

Luo Qianqian, hearing the word ”scars,” immediately stopped crying and nodded.

”As for this person, I’ll handle it for you.”

Luo Qianqian watched the two leave the room, then immediately jumped up and rushed to the bathroom. Seeing the large bandage on her neck, she dared not unwrap it, and suddenly felt that life had become gloomy.

The South, summer, no baths.

No cold drinks, no delicious food, all day accompanied by porridge...

Soon, Hu Si came back, carrying a bag, ”This is ointment, this medicine is for when you feel very painful, take one, these are the daily vitamins and calcium tablets. Stay here until the wound heals. Tomorrow, Hei Yu will send over the things, just hang in there, and if you can’t, just watch some TV.”

Luo Qianqian nodded.

She grabbed her phone, hurriedly replied to the messages and calls that suddenly appeared, and soon received replies from the other end.

Those worried about Luo Qianqian breathed a sigh of relief, and Qin Nuan even called to inquire about everything in detail, to which Luo Qianqian responded one by one.

After watching movies all night, the next morning, Hu Si arrived again, pulling the same suitcase he had taken to the college entrance exam. Knowing what was inside, Luo Qianqian breathed a sigh of relief. That nightmare, even seeing herself injured, even seeing her own blood, was an indelible nightmare.

Feng looked at the peacefully sleeping Luo Qianqian, connected to machines, and frowned, ”She obviously has become dependent on the machine, what do you plan to do?”

”Fight poison with poison,” Hu Si glanced at Luo Qianqian, closed the door, and followed Feng down the hallway.

”You mean...”

”The more disgusting it is, the sooner she’ll heal,” Hu Si said calmly.

Feng looked unconvinced, ”Aren’t you afraid of triggering some kind of mental illness?”

”What do I do?” Hu Si looked at Feng and pressed the elevator button, ”Should I go learn those psychological tricks of hypnosis and forgetting? If she remembers, it would be a bigger nightmare. The simplest way is to make her feel these things aren’t that serious.”

”Moreover, who among us doesn’t have any flaws in their character?”

Feng frowned and hesitated for a moment, ”But she’s just a child.”

”Her psyche is stronger than you think.” Otherwise, she wouldn’t let others draw a distance between the two, allowing both of them space for what was to come next.

”She’s a girl.”

”But the things she does are not what ordinary girls would do,” Hu Si entered the elevator and watched Feng still dazed, ”Aren’t you coming?”

”Coming.” Feng nodded and entered the elevator.

The two remained silent, but their serious expressions proved that both were deep in thought.
