The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 67: Chapter 67- A Young Noble Girl’s Trouble

Kevin tried hacking and slashing, slicing and discing, using all the strength and technique he had learned so far. However, the twig was like an absolute shield, easily blocking and stopping all of his attacks.

”This!!” he thought that he had learned the first technique of the [Holy Blade Arts]. However, when faced with the reality of what true mastery looks like, he couldn’t help but understand that what he thought he learned was actually just scratching the surface.

He was far, far from mastering anything.

”It’s not just him, you all pay attention too. Once one knows how to control one’s heart, what comes next is the second technique. Your blade shall carry the weight of your vow... your movements and your swing shall become one with your mind, breath, and blade. Finding unity in all three will remove any gaps”.

Reinhardt was teaching and demonstrating everything that he knew thanks to his skills [Divine Remembrance] and [Heaven’s Memory]. As a result, all the holy knights and knights felt like they were not just simply standing in the training field and listening, but actually experiencing the training and trials that Reinhardt projected through his aura.

In that illusion, he was standing there on top of the clouds, bathed in divine light, and his back facing them. Even with just the twig in his hand, the pressure that the commander was releasing was more overwhelming than even some high ranking knights with their swords drawn.

No, it could no longer be compared with mortals; it had reached the realm of the divine.

THUD... They only snapped from the illusion when they heard Kevin hitting the ground, panting and struggling to stand up again.

”This shall be all for today. Reflect on what you all learned and make whatever you can yours. You all are dismissed for the day.”

Saying that, he left the training grounds. His large back profile carved into the eyes of the Knights of the Order of the Temple of Light.

”Dammit, I feel like the commander has become more powerful and mysterious after waking up from his coma” Bob gulped.

”I concur, his charisma and strength are on a whole new level now. It almost as if he came out stronger from his setback...”

”No wonder the demons wanted him dead to the point of even cursing him”...

The high ranking paladins discussed. The knights, squires and trainees who found the topic fascinating could not resist asking more.

”Tell us more about the commander? How was he like when he was just a young knight?”...

”I want to know more about his training days”...

The training field was a place hubbub for quite some time.

.

.

The time was around the evening, after relaxing his body inside a hot, luxurious bath, Reinhardt strolled around the estate for an evening walk.

His steps unnaturally drew him towards the training field when he noticed a shadow still practising and swinging the sword.

”Someone is still out here? Oh?!” Looking closely, he noticed that the figure was none other than Gwen. The young noble girl was still training.

”I thought I told everyone to back and rest.”

Reinhardt slowly walked closer.

”AH!!” The former was so engrossed in her training that she didn’t sense anyone coming closer.

”It’s you, Commander. I-I was just trying to grasp what I learned from you today.” Gwen looked at her sword and gritted her teeth.

”It’s important to train hard and so is taking rest. If you don’t rest your exhausted body, you won’t be able to keep up with the training tomorrow. The things that I showed and taught you all today aren’t going anywhere. Take your time and understand yourself first, and only then can you learn the [Holy Blade Art]. Do you understand?”...

The girl looked down dejectedly but did not let the sword go.

”B-But Kevin was able to learn it”...

”Kevin’s and your case is different. You have seen him during the training and the Magic Knight Entrance Exam. He is unable to control his mana. Instead, he has been training his body since young”...

”When it comes to swordsmanship and technique, he has the knack and talent to pick it up faster than anyone. Do not compare yourself with him, you two are different”.

Probably because she understood what he was saying, she looked more devastated than before.

”I-I have to get stronger no matter what”...

Reinhardt sighed at the sight of her shedding silent tears while trying to endure her family problems.

”It was around 8 or 9 years ago, probably when I was still a level 8. I arrived at the capital on the orders of his majesty”.

While looking at the moon, he suddenly started reciting a story.

”Having finished a large expedition against the army of the darkness, I was called to the audience chamber to make a report. Coincidentally, it was also around the time when the Council of Elders sat”...

”They were discussing on the issues of the realm and the Knights who were going to take the Level 7 trial. At that time, I met your elder sister for the first time. Still donned in her gear, her sword carried the blood of the numerous demons she had slain”...

”Standing in front of the crown and the Council of Elders, she looked absolutely heroic. For the level 7 trial, she was the absolute favourite candidate and had the support from all the elders and even the crown. There was no one amongst her peers who could match up to her”...

”Not only was she the youngest person to ever reach level 6, but her achievements were not smaller than anyone’s. She had all the makings of a level 10 knight. Had she continued to grow like this, she would have no doubt become the fourth person in the kingdom to reach level 10 in a decade or two. However, unfortunately, she was too hasty. The demons took advantage of her emotions to lay a trap for her”...
