The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 57: Chapter 57- First General- Xolvoth the Insufferable

The demon grinned. It then got up from its throne and announced in high spirits, ”Very good, then let me introduce myself first. I am Xolvoth, the First General of lord Malcroth, the 11th Heavenly King. Perhaps you humans know me more by my title, Xolvoth the insufferable”.

Reinhardt did not reply, his mind raced as he tried to recall where he had heard the name of the demon.

Fifty years ago, in the now ruined Kingdom of Valor, the mastermind who was said to be behind the fall of the kingdom was precisely the 11th Heavenly king, Malcroth.

His First General especially, Xolvoth was solely responsible for the mass genocide of hundreds of thousands of humans, an event that would later go down in history as the Capital of Red.

The title insufferable came from the action he committed in those years. Xolvoth killed the king of Valor and posed as the latter for many, many years without letting anyone suspect him.

Slowly, he extended his ominous claws all around the kingdom, imposing harsh, almost cruel laws on its citizens and promoting corruption within.

The situation in Valor became so bad that within a few years, it started to crumble from the inside. Ultimately leading to the point where they no longer had any forces to fight back the invading demon army.

Xolvoth was famous for his malicious and cunning schemes, just like the one he was trying to use on the Toto village.

That said, Xolvoth the insufferable should have perished long ago; after all, it was said that the neighbouring kingdom had sent their knight orders and three Commanders to slay him.

”Kehehe... you look surprised. Don’t tell me the humans believed the farce I made up many years ago? The three humans were powerful; however, if you all thought that you could kill high ranking demons like us that easily, then you are mistaken. Although I had to sacrifice my blood, I was able to escape with just the cost of my physical body” the demon laughed.

It appeared that Xolvoth did not die all those years ago and managed to escape.

”Hmph, although I escaped, losing my physical body was not a pleasant experience. I had to hide in this damn village for many decades.”

Perhaps he was in a good mood or just happy to have recovered his body, but Xolvoth was being quite chatty.

”Tsk, you humans are always getting in my way and ruining my pleasure. This time though, my plans will be even more exceptional. Hmm, to begin with, I will start by ruining the kingdom of Solaris... Kehehe”.

Huff... having listened enough, Reinhardt slowly stood up and walked away from the bodies of the seven demi humans.

Why? It was because he didn’t want to damage their bodies further than they already were.

”Are you done talking?”...

”Hm?” The demon arched his brows ”You are an impatient human. Why are you in such a hurry to die? Let me enjoy my freedom and sense of being alive after so many years... ?”.

Xolvoth suddenly felt all the nerves in his body tense up, and his magic freeze. He looked at his hands in confusion.

What was going on?

This kind of reaction he had felt it before; it was right before he was about to die at the hands of those three humans. However, this time, this feeling was even more profound; it was something primal, as if his very soul was afraid of something or someone.

Xolvoth’s eyes went towards the human in front of him. It can’t be. Was he afraid of that human? However, unlike that time, there was only one human, and he had yet to be pushed to his limits.

How can he, the Great Xolvoth the insufferable, be afraid of a single huma...

”[Exalted Strike]”.

The demon didn’t get to complete his thoughts before a voice that sounded like the very mandate of heaven interjected.

A white light flashed, and his vision was completely covered by it. The First General of one of the twelve Heavenly Kings, Xolvoth the insufferable, who was quite infamous and dreaded throughout the world, perished at a single strike from Reinhardt after just reconstructing his body.

SLASH... the force of the slash and the divine energy imbued within was so vast that even after slicing the entire hall, pool and Xolvoth, its power was yet to decrease even a little.

CRACK... cracks like spider webs appeared on the air, and space shattered like the fragments of glass. One swing was all it took for Reinhardt to close this battle.

[Exalted Strike]: Description- A single, overwhelming attack imbued with divine wrath. Effects- Destroys anything in its path, including magical barriers, cursed objects, and even space itself. The strike leaves a scar of holy energy that lingers, preventing enemies from entering the area.

PHEW... having vented his frustration over the cruelty and unfairness of this world, he put his sword back down and glanced at the seven bodies lying dead next to him.

This was an outcome he refused to accept, and so with all the power and abilities he gained from Dioanax, he would change it. It was time for him to use one of the Ultimate Skills.

Unlike the other skills he possessed, Ultimate Skills were not something that could be taught to others. It is the pinnacle of divine authority, a power so absolute that it transcends mortal limitations, capable of rewriting fate, bending reality, and altering the very fabric of existence.

They are the manifestation of Dioanax’s divine power, and even for Reinhardt who had essentially stepped into the realm of the divine, it put a great strain on his body and divine power to use.

”Ultimate Skill activate- [Resurrection of the Fallen]”...

TZZZTTT...

The instant Reinhardt invoked the skill, it was as if the time had come to a stop, everything froze. The breeze, the demonic energy, and even the distant cries of the demonic beasts, everything had come to a standstill.
