School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 251: Chapter 281: Taking Shelter from the Rain

Lan Yuqin had intended to torment Chen Nan, but seeing him laugh so happily, irritation welled up inside her, and she glared fiercely, ”Care about you my foot, just run already, and if you dare to slack off, I’ll punish you with another twenty laps.”

Chen Nan jogged over to her slowly, grinning from ear to ear, ”The wind is strong on this athletic field, and sitting here to enjoy the cool, you might easily catch a cold. Why not exercise a bit too and run with me?”

Seeing how relaxed Chen Nan looked, not even panting, Lan Yuqin felt so annoyed she nearly itched to slap him.

What kind of freak is this guy? He can run way too much!

One lap of this athletic field was two hundred fifty meters; Chen Nan had now run fifteen laps, thus three thousand seven hundred fifty meters, and he didn’t look tired in the slightest, still acting as if nothing was wrong. This infuriated Lan Yuqin, who was determined to discipline him.

She had never encountered such a monstrous student before!

”Teacher, you look very unwell, are you sick? How about you join me in some exercise, it’s good for your health!”

Lan Yuqin’s teeth ground together with a creak, struggling to resist the urge to grab the brick from the ground and smack it on Chen Nan’s head, as she bellowed, ”Shut up and keep running! Run another hundred laps!”

A hundred laps!

Chen Nan broke out in a cold sweat, ”Teacher, are you trying to murder me?”

Lan Yuqin glared, ”Quit your babbling, just run, otherwise I’ll add another hundred laps!”

”Running twenty laps was already too much, and you want me to run a hundred?” Chen Nan scratched his head, ”This is corporal punishment, you know. Do you believe I’ll report you to the education bureau?”

”You wouldn’t dare!”

”Why wouldn’t I dare?” Chen Nan said cheerfully, ”Corporal punishment of students is a serious offense! Teacher, how about we don’t run and instead sit down for a good chat, talk about our life aspirations or something, what do you say?”

”Chen Nan!”

Lan Yuqin stared with eyes wide open, furious.

Chen Nan chuckled, ”What’s up?”

Seeing him still able to laugh, the rage in Lan Yuqin’s eyes grew more intense, and she finally lost it, ”A hundred laps! You can’t run one lap less! Even if you’re going to report me later, I’m determined to punish you today!”

The fact that a teacher could yell ”I” in front of a student showed just how angry Lan Yuqin was.

”Teacher, it’s fine to punish me, and I won’t report you, but what if I die of exhaustion? You’ll end up in prison!”

”Shut your mouth and run!”

Chen Nan touched his stomach, grumbling, ”But it’s lunchtime now, can I eat first before running?”

”No, you eat after you’re done running!”

”What if there’s no food left in the canteen by then?”

”I haven’t eaten either, I’ll take you out to eat later!” Lan Yuqin pointed at the athletic field, shouting, ”Run! Start running! You’re not getting food until you finish the laps!”

”Women, sigh!”

Chen Nan let out a long sigh, then jogged off towards the track.

Watching Chen Nan’s retreating figure, Lan Yuqin clenched her fists tightly.

This brat, he can run ten laps, twenty laps, but I don’t believe he can run a hundred. I don’t believe he won’t beg for mercy! Humph!

Thinking this to herself, Lan Yuqin felt a wave of satisfaction, finally able to vent. However, her stomach ”growled” in protest at her decision to skip the meal...

”What are you growling for, can’t you hold it together for a bit?”

Patting her own stomach, Lan Yuqin muttered to herself as her gaze returned to the athletic field.

Ten laps!

Twenty laps!

Forty laps!

Sixty laps!

Lan Yuqin, sitting there counting, felt she was almost about to fall asleep, but Chen Nan was still running with ease, showing no sign of exhaustion.

Still not tired after sixty laps?

Lan Yuqin rubbed her eyes, scrutinizing Chen Nan’s face carefully, and saw that not only did he still have a smile, but he was also smiling at her.

Is this guy even human?

Lan Yuqin was on the verge of breaking down, Chen Nan wasn’t tired at all, yet she was barely holding on.

”I’m so hungry...”

Lan Yuqin touched her stomach, her face full of frustration. They had both missed lunch; she was starving just sitting there, yet that guy Chen Nan had run dozens of laps and was still bursting with energy, as if his body was some kind of perpetual motion machine...

”How can this be? It’s not scientific!”

Lan Yuqin muttered to herself and sat there, propping her chin with both hands, feeling sleepy.

”Teacher, what’s unscientific? Do you want me to explain it to you?” A hundred meters away, Chen Nan said with a smile.

Lan Yuqin’s body jolted, and she suddenly snapped back to reality.

At such a distance, this guy could actually hear her mutterings? Lan Yuqin rubbed her ears, finding it somewhat unbelievable, ”Shut up and run, pick up the pace!”

Although she shouted this, it seemed a bit feeble. There was no helping it, she was hungry!

”Teacher, why don’t we go to eat first? I see you’re hardly holding up. Don’t starve yourself!” Chen Nan said with a smile: ”You’re at the perfect weight right now, it wouldn’t look good if you got too skinny from hunger.”

Eat?

Lan Yuqin also wanted to eat, but she wasn’t satisfied with how things were, not having exhausted Chen Nan yet.

Moreover, Chen Nan had been running for so long without complaining of hunger, while she, just sitting here in the shade, felt hungry - wasn’t that too embarrassing? No, she absolutely couldn’t show weakness. She had to make this little rascal beg for mercy!

”I’m not hungry; just run, it’s none of your concern!”

Lan Yuqin retorted stubbornly, but at that moment, she suddenly felt a chill on her nose. It had started to rain, and the downpour had begun so suddenly that within seconds it was pouring heavily.

”Stop running, you little rascal, let’s find shelter from the rain first.”

Lan Yuqin shouted and quickly headed toward the gazebo in the green lawn.

The rain came fast and left just as quickly. In only a minute or two, it stopped. Lan Yuqin felt a bit cold and was about to return to her dormitory to change clothes, but when she turned and saw that Chen Nan was also drenched, she felt a bit conflicted.

She could go back to her dormitory to change, but what about him? He wasn’t a boarding student and didn’t have clothes to change into at school.

”Hey, are you cold?” Lan Yuqin gave him a glance: ”Come on, follow me to the dorm. We’ll dry clothes with a hairdryer.”

”So, you’re not making me run laps anymore?”

”Hmph!”

Lan Yuqin didn’t even turn her head and strode toward the teachers’ dormitory.

Feeling helpless about Lan Yuqin’s capricious temperament, Chen Nan followed her with a wry smile.

After arriving at Lan Yuqin’s dormitory, Chen Nan looked around. The setup was very simple, with a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. In the living room, besides the sofa, coffee table, and television, there was also a set of cooking utensils - obviously, Lan Yuqin often cooked for herself.

”Make yourself comfortable.”

Lan Yuqin said indifferently and then went into the bedroom to find some clothes before heading to the bathroom.

Chen Nan plugged in the hairdryer and began drying his clothes that were wet from the rain.

”Chen Nan, are you thirsty? I forgot to make tea for you. There are drinks in the fridge, help yourself.”

”Thank you, teacher!”

After drying his clothes, Chen Nan took a drink from the refrigerator and began to sip on it while sitting on the sofa.

About five minutes later, Lan Yuqin emerged from the bath, dressed, with her wet hair and fair cheeks still sprinkled with droplets of water, exuding a beauty like that of a freshly bloomed lotus.

”You haven’t had lunch yet. I’ll cook something in a bit, and we can eat together,” Lan Yuqin said as she picked up the hairdryer to blow dry her hair.

”Thank you, teacher.”

Chen Nan approached Lan Yuqin, ”There’s nothing good on TV, let me help you wash the vegetables.”

Lan Yuqin nodded: ”Sure, you should eat early and take a nap afterwards. You have an exam this afternoon!”

”Heh heh...”

Chen Nan scratched his head and didn’t say anything.

The afternoon exam, to him, was inconsequential whether he was in a good state or not, because aside from Chinese, he really didn’t know the rest of the subjects.

As for English, even though he had tutored for some time, the content was all middle school basics, and now he had to face the high school senior exams. Those basics were of little use.

While washing vegetables, Lan Yuqin glanced at Chen Nan and casually asked, ”By the way, how do you feel about the exam this morning?”

”This...”

The last thing Chen Nan wanted to talk about was the exam, but since Lan Yuqin had asked, he couldn’t just not respond, ”Well, I might not have done well in chemistry, so don’t be too surprised when you see my score.”

”Do you think you at least passed?”

Passed...

Although it only required sixty points, Chen Nan felt that it was a daunting number. He smiled wryly and shook his head without saying anything.

Chen Nan was reluctant to speak, and Lan Yuqin didn’t press any further. She smiled and said, ”How about my Chinese class, then? I personally teach that, and you should have done well, right?”

Chen Nan grinned: ”Unless something unexpected happens, it should be perfect.”
