School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 263: Chapter 301: Envy

Looking at the caller ID on the screen, Han Yuting’s hands were trembling.

She was hesitating, wondering whether or not to answer this call.

It wasn’t that she was afraid of answering the phone, but she didn’t know what to say after picking up. This was because the call was from Xiao Jianren.

After some hesitation, Han Yuting gritted her teeth and answered the call.

”Hello...”

Her voice was trembling, full of grievance.

”Yu Ting, have you made up your mind?” Xiao Jianren’s voice, carried a hint of smugness, devoid of any mercy, ”You should be clear about my feelings for you. As long as you agree to my proposal, I will surely make your life comfortable, and always treat you well.”

For a lifetime...

Although he spoke like this, hearing his tone, Han Yuting could fully imagine the smug, even somewhat schadenfreude expression on Xiao Jianren’s face.

Although she was just a high school student, being from a poor family made her much more mature than those girls like Su Qingqing who were born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Han Yuting was very clear about the person Xiao Jianren was. He was only interested in her body; once tired of her, he would kick her to the curb, and all his promises would turn into lies.

Biting her thin lips lightly, Han Yuting struggled to make a decision.

Xiao Jianren claimed he wanted her as a girlfriend, but Han Yuting felt that agreeing to him was merely selling her innocence for 500,000 - how was that different from the women who lost their way in the nightclubs?

Xiao Jianren seemed to be getting impatient, and said, ”As far as I know, those creditors should have gone to your house to collect debts this afternoon, right? You better decide quickly, or it’ll be too late even if you beg me later.”

Upon hearing this, Han Yuting’s body shuddered bitterly, thinking of her home being smashed into chaos, and her father being beaten badly. Overwhelmed with grief, she couldn’t help but tear up.

With a pleading tone, she said, ”Xiao Jianren, can we... can we try dating first, and if our feelings deepen, I will give myself to you then?”

Xiao Jianren was too impatient for such a suggestion, and was about to refuse when suddenly, he devised a scheme.

”Alright, tonight, I’ve arranged to meet some friends at the Heaven Bar. Come with me, and have a few drinks,” Xiao Jianren said, ”Once the gathering is over, I’ll immediately give you the money to pay off the debts.”

”But, I don’t drink.”

Han Yuting was clearly worried; she didn’t trust Xiao Jianren’s character. What could she do if she got drunk and Xiao Jianren forced himself on her?

”No worries, you don’t have to drink. Just being there with me is enough to make me happy.”

”Then... alright, I’ll go with you tonight.”

Han Yuting was worried, but she had no other choice. At this point, this was her only option to quickly come up with 500,000 in one night. She just hoped that Xiao Jianren would keep his word and not take advantage of her.

...

After the final examination ended, Chen Nan and Huo Xinya both returned to the senior year class nine classroom.

Since the seating was disrupted during the exams, they had to clean up and move their seats back.

”Silly, you didn’t really fail six subjects, did you?” Su Qingqing said with a teasing smile.

Chen Nan grinned: ”How about a bet? If I win, you’ll never ask me to carry you again. If I lose, you just tell me to carry you and I’ll do it without saying a half-word no.”

”Sure, what’s the bet?”

Su Qingqing was full of confidence, looking like she already had the win secured.

”In these six subjects, at least one of my grades will be better than yours. Do you believe it?”

Su Qingqing sighed and patted Chen Nan’s shoulder, ”Silly, it’s not that I look down on you, but the odds are really not in your favor. You know, my grades have always been among the top in our age group, right?”

”I know, but you are definitely going to lose.”

Chen Nan was very confident in his Chinese language grades.

Su Qingqing scratched her head, ”Where is this confidence coming from? You didn’t cheat, did you? Like that time during the English test when you copied from Xinya.”

Chen Nan was speechless for a long while.

It took him a long time to say gloomily, ”Am I really that bad?”

”Who told you to have a prior?” puffed Su Qingqing with her lips, sticking out her pink little tongue, ”Alright, I’ll trust you this time, I’m taking this bet with you.”

”Good! Don’t go back on your word when the time comes.”

”I won’t, definitely not.” Su Qingqing laughed happily, stretching her arms and jumping onto Chen Nan’s back; her soft and springy legs wrapped around his waist, ”Let’s go, the seats have been assigned, let’s head home.”

”You lazybones, sigh!”

Chen Nan sighed, smiling wryly as he walked out of the classroom.

Quite a few boys in the class gulped, green with envy at Chen Nan, but what could they do about it? After all, he was her cousin!

Walking behind them, Huo Xinya also felt a twinge of envy.

However, she wasn’t envious of Chen Nan, but of Su Qingqing; she too wanted to cling to her brother-in-law’s back and have him carry her.

Even though she herself thought this desire was shameful and brazen, she couldn’t help but look forward to it deep inside, unable to suppress the feeling.

...

Unexpectedly, when Chen Nan walked out of the academic building, he didn’t see Liu Tiantian.

Normally, that girl would always be waiting for them downstairs.

”That naughty girl must still be cleaning the classroom, let’s not wait for her, let’s hurry,” coaxed Su Qingqing, naturally excited to be alone with Chen Nan without Liu Tiantian, the third wheel.

”Isn’t that a bit harsh? What if she’s still waiting downstairs when we leave?”

”No worries, I’ll send her a text.”

”Alright then.”

Chen Nan shook his head with a wry smile, heading toward the school exit.

However, just as he stepped out of the school gate, he ran into Jiang Xiaomi.

She was dressed differently from noon, now wearing a pair of denim shorts showcasing her long, pale legs, a black T-shirt with a white skull printed on the chest, a tuft of her hair dyed fiery red on her forehead, and with a cigarette in her mouth, she was leading a group of four or five delinquent students, looking every bit the part of a female gang leader.

After letting Su Qingqing down from his back, Chen Nan pulled Jiang Xiaomi aside, and said in a low voice, ”What are you doing? You’re a nice girl, why degrade yourself like this?”

”I like it this way, what are you to me? Can you control me?”

Jiang Xiaomi took a drag on her cigarette, her face full of disdain.

”Cigarettes aren’t meant to be smoked like that,” Chen Nan snatched the cigarette from her, extinguished it, and tossed it in a trash can, annoyed, ”Why smoke at all? It damages your throat and your lungs. You’re young, why not study well, who are you degrading yourself for?”
