King of the Wilderness

Chapter 506: Chapter 277: The Complete Form of the Great Ship of Interests

”Me?” He chuckled, with no hint of boasting in his smile, ”When I was making that call to you, my algorithm was already in action.”

”I didn’t start to flee at the peak moment.”

”I was using the arrival of the peak moment to cover my retreat.”

”Finally, after the stock price broke through 550 US Dollars, I completed a full liquidation, 13 million principal, 303 million US Dollars, all exited unscathed.”

”I warned you, the party music will abruptly stop at the climax. After all, my friend’s information is never wrong.”

Lin Yu’an looked at the three faces on the screen with different expressions, knowing the ”knocking” was enough. It was time to rally them back together.

His tone became serious: ”Alright, everyone. Now is not the time to discuss how much less you earned. The real storm is just beginning.”

”The SEC investigation is what we are about to face.”

Brian immediately collected himself, regaining the initiative: ”Exactly. This is the only agenda for this meeting. Such a massive market fluctuation, with so many hedge funds dying, the SEC cannot stand idly by.”

”They will definitely initiate the highest level of investigation, and we, the ones who made big money in this war, will inevitably be their key focus.”

”Matty, what’s your take? How high is the legal risk?”

Matty cleared his throat, returning to professionalism: ”Brian, we need to look at this from two levels, the funding evidence chain and the behavior evidence chain.”

He said confidently: ”From the funding level, we are absolutely safe. All our transactions were conducted through offshore, multi-layer nested anonymous accounts.”

”It’s almost mission impossible for the SEC to penetrate the legal firewalls of Switzerland and the Cayman Islands to find the ultimate beneficiaries of the funds. On this line, they won’t find any direct evidence.”

”However,” his tone became extremely serious, ”on the behavior level, we are nearly exposed.”

”The four of us form a close commercial entity. Within the timeframe of our frequent communications, four mysterious forces simultaneously appeared in the market, making unanimous speculative moves on the same obscure stock.”

”In the SEC’s big data monitoring system, the probability of such a behavioral coincidence is lower than being struck by lightning twice.”

”This could potentially be their breakthrough to attack us. They don’t need to find the money; they just need to paint a compelling story of collusion to the jury and the public.”

Scoot asked nervously: ”And the consequences? Will they summon us? Freeze our assets?”

”Summoning is inevitable, but the possibility of freezing assets is low because they don’t have the funding chain evidence.”

”But the most troublesome thing is, once the investigation itself is leaked to the media, the blow to CAA and our personal reputations will be catastrophic. That’s their real weapon, replacing legal judgment with public opinion.”

Everyone fell silent. Though they made money, at this moment, it felt like sitting on a volcano that could erupt at any time.

Brian’s gaze eventually settled on Lin Yu’an, his voice low and powerful, ”Lin, does your friend from the ’East’ or ’North’ have any advice on this? Did they foresee all this?”

Lin Yu’an realized that this seemed to be the core question of the meeting.

They wanted to know if the mysterious channel behind them had even planned the aftermath.

Facing the gaze of the three, Lin Yu’an revealed a slight mysterious smile and slowly said, ”Everyone, I can’t give you a 100% guarantee. After all, I’m just a messenger delivering the news, not a god who makes the rules.”

He changed his tone, ”However, according to my friend’s analysis, the outcome of this incident might surprise everyone.”

”Ultimately, aside from the unlucky ones who will face complete bankruptcy liquidation, and besides Robin Hood, such an executioner pushed to the forefront, who will face a hefty fine to appease public anger...”

”Everyone else will be unharmed.”

”Why?” Scoot blurted out, a question the other two wanted to ask as well.

”Because...” Lin Yu’an leaned back in his chair, leisurely saying, ”Because, the SEC will ultimately find themselves investigating forces or people they dare not investigate!”

This answer sparked various suspicions in their minds: Jewish Consortium? Israel? President of the United States? Foreign forces?

Lin Yu’an dared to say so because he clearly remembered from his past life the results of the SEC’s 45-page official investigation report.

He knew the SEC investigators would go mad, trying to investigate every link, attempting to find a convictable culprit for this unprecedented market turmoil.

They would investigate Rohan Himmel Capital, trying to find evidence of market manipulation. They would analyze millions of posts and comments and interview retail leaders like Keith Gill.

But their final conclusion would be that there was no evidence to suggest that discussions on social media constituted a fraudulent market manipulation scheme.

The retail investors were just openly sharing enthusiasm, a behavior protected by the First Amendment of the US Constitution’s free speech. Though crazy, it was not illegal.

They would investigate hedge funds, especially Citadel Company and Point72 Company, trying to find evidence of collusion with Robin Hood to suppress retail investors.
