King of the Wilderness

Chapter 503: Chapter 276: The Final Profit

Just as Lin Yu’an uttered these words, sealing the decision for their future home.

The encrypted satellite phone that he had deliberately neglected for a long time suddenly seemed to come to life, vibrating frantically on the oak desk in the study, emitting a ”buzzing” sound.

The name flashing on the screen immediately replaced the infinite longing and warm atmosphere in the living room with a sense of solemnity.

It was Scooter Braun.

”Sorry, dear ones.” The smile on his face slowly faded, ”Our ’Kingdom’ might have to wait a moment.”

He quickly walked to the study on the second floor, closed the door, isolating the worried gazes of his two lovers outside.

Inside the study, he was instantly alone, his breath the only sound.

He didn’t immediately answer the satellite phone, still vibrating as if a death sentence.

Instead, he sat down at the computer, fingers tapping lightly on the keyboard, connecting to the high-speed Starlink Network.

Countless financial news, data streams, and social media updates surged like a flood, instantly filling the display.

The screen on the left showed Twitter’s trending list. The hashtags #Gamestonk, #HoldTheLine, and #DiamondHands had turned deep red, followed by millions of discussions, signifying a national frenzy.

But beneath these hashtags, a new one fueled by anger was rising at a terrifying speed—#RobinhoodScandal.

The central screen displayed real-time news from Bloomberg and Reuters. The headline, in the most calm yet thrilling words:

”Breaking News! Mainstream brokers like Robin Hood and Interactive Brokers brutally restricting trading permissions of stocks such as GameStop and AMC, citing abnormal market fluctuations.”

”In an unprecedented move, several broker platforms suddenly announced they would limit trading of certain high-volatility securities to closing positions only.”

”Brokerages halt buying of meme stocks, triggering violent retail investor backlash. After restrictions, GME’s stock price plummeted.”

”A Robin Hood spokesperson stated that the move was a difficult but responsible decision, aimed at addressing the tens of billions of dollars in sharply increased margin requirements from clearing houses...”

Difficult but responsible decision... Lin Yu’an looked at these words, a cold arc forming at the corners of his mouth.

They call execution risk management.

They disguise betrayal as investor protection.

This is the game rule of Wall Street. And now, the rule makers are stepping in personally, overturning the board, pulling the plug.

Lin Yu’an switched to the securities account interface of his offshore trust. The green candle line that had once thrust towards the sky like a spear was now broken.

After peaking at 650 US Dollars, a longer, almost shadowless huge red candle line, like a blood-red waterfall descending from the sky, smashed the stock price back below 200 US Dollars.

And at the bottom of the trading software, usually neglected ”Platform Announcement” section, a notice marked in small gray font, released about half an hour ago, lay silently:

”Due to recent fluctuations, we now restrict trading of certain securities to closing positions only, including GME and AMC...”

Lin Yu’an’s gaze scanned over all the information on the screen.

Frenzied retail investors, angry complaints, plunging prices, cold announcements...

The most insane, also the ugliest scene from his past life had been reenacted in this world, with absolute precision.

The frenzy had reached its peak.

The massacre had also ended.

He slowly leaned back against the chair, exhaling deeply. That breath seemed to take away the last thread of the butterfly effect’s suspense.

Only then did Lin Yu’an leisurely pick up the still frantically vibrating satellite phone and press the answer button.

”Lin!” From the other end of the phone came Scooter’s roar, suppressing extreme excitement and great fear, ”Are you watching the market? My God, the world’s gone mad!”

”I’m watching.” Lin Yu’an’s voice was as calm as water.

”Listen, Lin, things are extremely chaotic right now!” Scooter said rapidly, ”Brian and Matty are online, we need to hold an emergency meeting immediately! Can you open your computer now?”

”I can.”

Scooter said, ”Quick! Lin! I’m about to send the encrypted conference link to your inbox! We need you!”

The call ended.

Lin Yu’an put down the satellite phone, glanced at the link that just arrived in his mailbox, and clicked on it.

The screen lit up, after a brief encryption verification, it was divided into four independent video windows.

In the virtual conference room, an atmosphere of deathly silence so oppressive it seemed to drip water.

In these four small squares was gathered a force large enough to sway half of Hollywood and tens of billions of dollars in capital.

Lin Yu’an’s image was the most informal and warm; he was wearing a comfortable cashmere sweater, relaxedly leaning against the study’s sofa, with the wolf skin of the Alpha Male Wolf on the wall behind him.

It was an unexpected trophy from his hunting trip in Alaska with Old George for Dall Sheep, now silently showcasing the owner’s strength.

His state appeared infinitely relaxed, like an audience member detached from events, calmly watching the other three people.

Scooter Braun’s face looked the worst, sitting in his office worth tens of millions of dollars, with a floor-to-ceiling window behind him showing the bustling night view of Los Angeles, but at this moment, he seemed like a beast trapped in a cage.
