Chapter 84: Chapter 82: Bow Hunting a Black Bear Shocks the Internet

When Episode 10 of ”Wilderness Solo Living: Grizzly Mountain” aired amidst a whirlpool of anticipation and controversy.

No one could predict that this episode would become the most shocking and legendary in the series’ history.

The opening focused on another strong contender for the championship—Clay Jenkins.

In the footage, his gaunt face and slightly sluggish movements revealed an indisputable fatigue.

His lifeline fishing net, after the lake had been largely frozen, had yielded nothing for consecutive days.

Klay’s mental state also began to deteriorate, becoming negative and seeking nothing.

As the audience in front of the screen worried he might not hold on.

On the 87th day, the show’s medical team conducted a routine check.

Doctor Anderson looked at the test report in his hand, with an unprecedentedly serious expression.

”Clay, multiple key indicators of your body have turned red. Continuing like this could cause irreversible damage to your body. I strongly recommend you end the challenge.”

Klay listened silently to the doctor’s analysis, then looked up at the icebound wilderness he had battled for nearly three months.

In the end, this tough guy from Montana slowly nodded, accepting the suggestion to withdraw from the competition.

When Clay’s helicopter departure aired, both North American and Bilibili audiences felt an immense regret for this tough guy’s exit.

[Salute to Clay! A true tough guy, you have proven yourself!]

[So unfortunate! Just one last step! But health is the most important, go home!]

[Though Clay lost, he is still honorable! Much better than some champions of past seasons!]

[Hope Clay feels better after knowing Brother An’s achievements.]

[Heard there will be a strong comeback competition! Clay, you must come back and participate then!]

Clay’s withdrawal made everyone realize that this survival challenge was already over!

It also filled audiences with more anticipation for Lin Yu’an, the only one left.

However, when the camera shifted to Lin Yu’an’s camp, the scene changed dramatically.

Through clever editing, the production team first showcased the adorable pre-warning red fox cub, instantly capturing all viewers’ hearts.

Then, Lin Yu’an calmly and swiftly returned to the shelter to check the bear spray and string the hunting bow.

A series of smooth and fluid preparation actions made the atmosphere in front of the screen extremely tense.

Under the watchful eyes of all viewers, that robust adult American Black Bear slowly strolled out from the snowy woods.

From this moment, the production team almost completely aired footage from Lin Yu’an’s chest sports camera, capturing the entire battle in first-person!

All previous doubts about ”script theory” and ”luck theory” appeared pale and ridiculous in front of such breath-taking realism.

The audience seemed to be in the scene, following Lin Yu’an’s perspective, locking eyes with the massive black bear.

They could feel the tremor from the bear’s roar, and see the terrifying momentum as it charged, snow splattering.

As Lin Yu’an calmly shot the first arrow during his extreme retreat, the camera shook from the intense movement!

Yet it was still able to clearly capture the thud of the arrow hitting the bear’s shoulder blade!

Then came the deadly pursuit in the sparse forest!

When Lin Yu’an dodged the bear’s fatal lunge and decisively used the bear spray, the only sounds were the bear’s shrill painful wail and Lin Yu’an’s heavy breathing!

Finally, when Lin Yu’an drew back the bow and accurately hit the bear’s femoral artery with a third arrow, the camera clearly captured blood gushing out, staining the white snow a glaring deep red!

The entire combat process was full of calm tactical calculation, amazing physical strength, and decisive courage in the moments of life and death!

There were no directors shouting ”cut”, no chances for retakes, only the most primitive, bloody, and shocking real combat!

When Lin Yu’an finally stood beside the fallen bear carcass, leaning on the bow, and gasping heavily.

In front of screens worldwide, there was a moment of silence, dominated by extreme shock.

Then, a torrent of bullet comments erupted!

The previous doubters chanting ”script theory” on North American forums collectively fell silent at this moment.

The past mockery and speculations were shattered before this indisputable first-person footage.

Replaced by an overwhelming awe and admiration!

(I... I have nothing to say. I apologize. This guy is a legend, an absolute legend!)

(That wasn’t luck, nor a script. It was pure skill, courage, and cold blood! I’ve never seen anything like it in the history of ”Wilderness Solo Living”.)

(He lured the bear, exploited the terrain, used strategic shooting to weaken it, then ended it! It was a hunting performance. Clay is a hunter, but Lin... Lin is a warrior!)

(This Chinese contestant, he became the first bear hunter in the history of ”Wilderness Solo Living”! Worthy of remembrance!)

The previous belittling comments claiming Lin Yu’an ”only plays with mud and shoots little birds” were being madly dug up at the moment.

But on Bilibili, due to language and time differences, updates would be a few hours later than in the United States.

However, impatient fans couldn’t wait and scaled the wall to browse raw resources first.

[Godly! After this battle, God An is directly elevated to godhood!!!!]

[When this updates in China, it’s going to explode! Brother An hunted a black bear! And he won the championship!]

[Am I watching Alone in the Wilderness or Wilderness Hunter? This first-person view is too thrilling!]

[One uncut take! Full of energy the whole time! Who dares to say it’s scripted? Let me slap their face with Diaochan!]

[I could hear your calculations all the way from the Hulunbei’er Grassland.]

[Where are those haters and trolls now? Why aren’t they shouting? Were they all knocked out by the bear?]

[Sorry, I was worried about Brother An before, but now I realize I should have been worried about the bear!]

[This tactical strategy is so clear! Tugging, exhausting, using cover, and then the final lethal strike! This is the guerrilla warfare etched in our Chinese bones!]

[From today on, I’ll get mad at anyone who badmouths Brother An! This is what it means to be a true man of China! Piss off!]

The previously sporadic malicious comments were completely drowned out by endless praises like ”Awesome,” ”Whoa,” ”666,” and other adoring phrases.

Any attempt to bring up the notion of a ”script” would immediately be bombarded by hundreds or thousands of comments, leaving it completely exposed.

At the end of the show, when the timeline reached the 92nd day, the production team’s helicopter landed at Lin Yu’an’s camp.

When Aliya emerged from behind Lin Yu’an, the entire internet experienced a small-scale ”quake” once more.

In the footage, the blonde girl, set against the icy and snowy background, appeared with fair skin and stunning beauty. Her clear light green eyes were filled with love and pride for Lin Yu’an.

Her tall figure was impossible to hide even under a thick down coat.

When she smiled and said to Lin Yu’an, ”I’ve come to take you home, my hero,”...

Countless viewers suddenly found themselves wondering how Lin Gou could have won the championship! And with such a beautiful wife, it was more unbearable than anything else!

[Oh my god! Brother An’s wife is unbelievably beautiful! That face! That aura!]

[Light green eyes! Like gemstones! Fair skin and flawless beauty! Brother An is really lucky!]

[I finally understand why Brother An worked so hard! If I had such a pretty wife, I’d challenge aliens, never mind hunting bears!]

[You up there! +1! For such a sister-in-law, I’d brave Grizzly Mountain and even Hell Mountain!]

[New life goal: Find a wife like Aliya and join Alone in the Wilderness!]

”If I had a wife like that, I’d dare to venture into the wilderness too!” This phrase quickly became a new internet meme, sweeping through major social media platforms after being aired on Bilibili.

The broadcast of the tenth episode spread like a hurricane across the web, completely dispelling all the controversies surrounding Lin Yu’an.

He was no longer the ”lucky guy” or ”script kid” questioned by some audiences.

With his adrenaline-filled, indisputable first-person combat footage, he was hailed a legend in one single battle!

He became another legendary figure in the history of Alone in the Wilderness after Roland Welker’s knife-hunting musk ox feat.

A lone man using relatively primitive arrows to directly defeat a top predator—the American black bear!

This achievement, with its gold content extremely high, was enough to earn him a lasting place in the history of the survival challenge world.

The incredible abilities Lin Yu’an displayed on the show were like the most precise commercial signal.

They immediately caught the attention of major MCN organizations domestically and globally!

Previously wavering MCNs, not much concerned, now acutely sensed that Lin Yu’an’s value at this moment had far exceeded that of a ”reality show champion.”

They saw that when combined, elements like Chinese, bow-hunting black bear, and Alone in the Wilderness champion could yield massive traffic!

Thus, a ”talent-grab war” for Lin Yu’an swiftly commenced.

Heads of major top MCNs began frantically trying to contact the producer of Alone in the Wilderness, Mark Johnson,

or Lin Yu’an’s mentor at Texas Tech University, hoping to secure a direct conversation with him.

The conditions they offered were increasingly appealing, from signing bonuses in the millions of RMB, dedicated teams, to promises of top-notch commercial resources and brand endorsements.

Meanwhile, Old Mao from Bilibili, who had established an early connection with Lin Yu’an and already reached a preliminary cooperation intention,

was on pins and needles after watching the raw footage of the tenth episode! Immediately reporting to the director for an emergency meeting.

”Boss, our previous ’Phoenix Plan’ was too small in scale! Now all well-known MCNs nationwide are already in action!”

”We can no longer treat him as just a ’promising UP master’! He is now a wilderness top stream with enormous traffic and commercial value!”

”He is a strategic figure enough to change the ecological model of our platform’s outdoor section!”

”So we need to immediately reassess his commercial value! Prepare a brand new, more sincere, and binding top-level contract!”

”We must not only sign him but also keep him tightly and long-term on Bilibili’s war chariot! We must not allow other platforms or institutions any opportunity!”

All industry professionals could see that Lin Yu’an, this ”delicacy,” was already a huge traffic secret.

In the end, Bilibili’s UP master operation director decided they had to defeat all MCNs in competition!

They must follow the previous plan, let him enter the comment section after broadcasting on Bilibili, and officially join Bilibili! They must spare no effort to sign him!
