The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Returning to School

Song Chi looked at his mother with some confusion and said, ”Mom, if you want some water, just let Sister Hong pour a glass, why insist on Yiyi doing it.” Then he directly looked at Sister Hong and said, ”Pour a glass of water for Old Mrs. Song.”

Sister Hong didn’t dare to delay and went straight to pour a glass of water.

However, Old Mrs. Song didn’t drink, and instead, with a face full of disapproval, said, ”I asked Yiyi to pour a glass of water, was that wrong? When Wei Li first came to our family, she was so young, and even back then she knew to care for me and pour me water when I was thirsty. So why can’t Yiyi, my granddaughter, do it now?”

”Mother, since the water is already poured, just drink it directly.”

Hearing her son’s words, Old Mrs. Song was quite upset.

”Is it about the water? I’m concerned about the attitude of my granddaughter towards me. The younger generation should respect the elders, but I don’t see any of that from Yiyi.”

Yiyi glanced at Old Mrs. Song and said, ”Since Old Mrs. Song wants me to pour this glass of water, I’ll pour another one for you right now.”

After Yiyi poured the water, she placed it next to Old Mrs. Song’s hand and quietly continued eating.

Old Mrs. Song took a sip and snorted coldly, ”You just called me Old Mrs. Song earlier, so you don’t actually consider me your grandmother?”

Hearing this, Yiyi put down her chopsticks and stood up, looked at Ding Yuejun and said, ”Mom, since we’ve almost finished eating, let’s head back now, so we won’t be too late.”

Ding Yuejun had long felt uneasy, when she heard her daughter’s words, she quickly stood up and said, ”Yes, let’s hurry back and pack up.”

Finally, the mother and daughter said goodbye to the Song couple and prepared to leave.

Song Xiaoqing quickly stood up to see them off, escorting Yiyi and her mother all the way to the front door.

”Yue Jun, Yiyi, I’m really sorry. I’ll have a good talk with mom, and this won’t happen again in the future.”

Ding Yuejun felt uncomfortable but knew that Song Xiaoqing was not to blame, so she shook her head and smiled, ”It’s okay, but time is indeed tight, so Yiyi and I will head back first.”

Yiyi smiled and said goodbye to Song Xiaoqing, followed by her mother to the Chu family.

Jiang Yizi saw Yiyi and her mother return and quickly said, ”Yue Jun, I’ve packed everything for you; later we can drive you to the airport.”

”Auntie, there’s no need to trouble you. Later, Gu Tingyu will come to take us to the airport.”

Though rejected, Jiang Yizi was very happy. ”Really? Tingyu is coming later? But such matters are good; he can drive you while we also accompany you.”

Hearing this, Yiyi didn’t say anything, just smiled, ”Sure.”

Finally, Chu Gangyi’s family and Chu Hongyi’s family both went to see off Ding Yuejun and Yiyi, while Gu Tingyu escorted them onto the plane and turned away once it departed.

On the way back, Jiang Yizi couldn’t help but say to her husband, ”I think there’s something unusual between the Gu family’s eldest grandson and Yiyi.”

Chu Gangyi glanced at his wife and said, ”Don’t speak randomly.”

”I’m not saying randomly! Just now, that look Gu Tingyu gave Yiyi was almost melting; it’s clear he has a crush on her.”

Seeing his wife so excited, Chu Gangyi couldn’t help but shake his head, ”Even if Mr. Gu truly likes Yiyi, until something is confirmed, don’t say such things to avoid putting Yiyi in a tough spot.”

The Gu family’s status is much higher than the Chu family’s, so if rumors spread, people would instinctively think Yiyi is climbing up the ladder.

If Gu Tingyu truly has such intentions and is firm about it, others wouldn’t say much. But if his wife is mistaken, Yiyi will find herself in a difficult position, and others might accuse her of trying to attach herself to Gu Tingyu purposefully.

Jiang Yizi heard her husband’s words and quickly glared at him, saying, ”I understand well that reputation is important for a young lady, so I only talk about this with you, never bringing it up to others. If Tingyu indeed has a crush on Yiyi, that would be best.”

”If that’s truly the case, it would indeed be great. But such matters rely on mutual feelings and naturally coming to fruition, so don’t worry too much, meddle, or do anything proactive that might make people think Yiyi is trying to cling to Gu Tingyu.”

Jiang Yizi quickly nodded and said, ”Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. Besides, how could I, as the aunt, interfere in Yiyi’s affairs?”

Chu Gangyi didn’t say more; he knew his wife’s character and understood she is prudent in her actions.

Elsewhere, after taking Yiyi and her mother to the airport, Gu Tingyu returned home directly.

”Tingyu, you’re back. I saw you hurried out after lunch, what were you up to?” Yu Qiulan saw her son return and asked.

Gu Tingyu replied, ”I took a friend and her mother to the airport.”

”Was it that newly recognized goddaughter of the Song family?”

Upon hearing his mother’s words, Gu Tingyu asked in surprise, ”Mom, how did you know?”

”So it’s true; when did you meet that girl? I’ve never heard you mention it before.”

Seeing his mother inquire, Gu Tingyu didn’t hide anything and said directly, ”Yiyi has helped me many times, so we’re familiar with each other, and besides...”

Speaking up to this point, Gu Tingyu’s eyes smiled, ”Yiyi is a good girl.”

Seeing her son’s expression, Yu Qiulan was somewhat surprised, ”You...”

Before she could finish, Gu Tingyu interrupted, ”Mom, I have stuff to do, I’ll grab some files and leave.” After that, he went directly to his room.

Looking at her son’s back, Yu Qiulan frowned.

Meanwhile, Yiyi and Ding Yuejun soon arrived at home.

”Yiyi, you should rest a bit first, mom will cook two bowls of noodles, which will be our dinner.”

Yiyi quickly said, ”Mom, you should rest, I’m not tired, I’ll cook the noodles.” She then went straight to the kitchen.

Seeing this, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but smile and shake her head, quickly going to pack things.

After dinner, the mother and daughter returned to their rooms early to rest since they were somewhat tired from traveling.

The next day, Ding Yuejun got up early, prepared breakfast, and after they finished, one went to the boutique, and the other went to school for classes.

Fei Er Ya saw Yiyi and said happily, ”Yiyi, you’re finally back to school.”

Yiyi was also very happy to see Fei Er Ya, ”Yes, long time no see.”

”It really has been a while. If you hadn’t come back, the homeroom teacher’s face would have gotten even darker.”

The first class was homeroom teacher Yao Hailai’s math class, and after class, he called Yiyi to the office.
