The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Would You Be Willing

After finishing lunch, Yiyi planned to leave.

”Yiyi, it’s still early. Stay a bit longer.”

Song Xiaoqing rarely met a junior she could converse with, and she felt a bit reluctant to let Yiyi go.

”Aunt Song, Yiyi will be staying in Shangjing for a few more days. We’ll visit you again tomorrow.”

Hearing this from Gu Tingyu, Song Xiaoqing nodded and said, ”You promised, so don’t go back on your word. Make sure to bring Yiyi over tomorrow.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi was the first to reply, ”Okay, we’ll come over tomorrow then.”

Seeing Yiyi agree, Song Xiaoqing couldn’t help but smile, and quickly took out the gift she had prepared, ”Yiyi, I’m not sure what you like, so I just prepared some things that young girls might use. I hope you’ll like them.”

Looking at the gift bag in front of her, Yiyi hurriedly refused, ”Aunt Song, you’re too kind.”

Seeing Yiyi refuse, Song Xiaoqing directly stuffed the bag into Yiyi’s hands, ”You have to take it; we can’t use these things at home, so they’ll go to waste if you don’t take them.”

Seeing Song Xiaoqing insist, Yiyi accepted the gift, then left together with Gu Tingyu.

Watching Yiyi and Gu Tingyu leave, Song Xiaoqing turned to her husband and said, ”I think Yiyi is a good girl. It’s a pity we don’t have a daughter like her.”

Song Chi heard this and smiled, ”Then why not just recognize her as our goddaughter?”

Facing his wife, Song Chi lost his usual sternness, his gaze toward her filled with affection. He knew his wife had always been grateful to Mo Yiyi, so the Song family could definitely protect this girl under their wing.

Hearing her husband’s suggestion, Song Xiaoqing’s eyes lit up.

”That’s right, why didn’t I think of that before? But next time I must ask Yiyi if she’s willing.”

On the other side, Gu Tingyu suggested to Yiyi after sending her to the Chu family, ”Once Aunt Ding’s matters are cleared up, I’ll take you around Shangjing. Since I’m resting now, I can be your guide.”

Yiyi nodded and said, ”Okay.”

Seeing the young girl not too excited, Gu Tingyu comforted, ”I know you’re still worried about Aunt Ding’s issue, but don’t worry, I’ll expedite the investigation.”

”Thank you.”

”There’s no need for thanks between us.”

Though he hadn’t spent much time with Yiyi, he already considered her one of his own. It felt like they had known each other for many years.

Before, the young girl had helped him several times, so this time helping Yiyi felt perfectly natural.

”Once Aunt Ding’s situation is resolved, I’ll show you around Shangjing properly. There’re many places worth visiting.”

”Okay.”

Yiyi smiled, looking at Gu Tingyu with warmth in her eyes.

”Alright, go inside. I’ll come pick you up tomorrow morning.” Seeing the girl’s gaze, Gu Tingyu suddenly felt a bit shy and couldn’t help but touch his ear.

Yiyi didn’t seem to notice anything amiss, waved goodbye to Gu Tingyu, and went straight inside.

Ding Yuejun saw her daughter return and asked, ”Yiyi, why are you back so early? Where’s Xiao Gu?”

”Gu Tingyu left, he’ll come back tomorrow morning.”

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun was a bit surprised, ”Are you going out again tomorrow?”

”Yes, we’re visiting Mrs. Song again.”

Jiang Yizi suddenly asked, ”Mrs. Song? Could it be... the Mrs. Song living in East City?” She couldn’t believe it might be the Mrs. Song she imagined.

Yiyi nodded, ”Yes, apparently it’s indeed in East City.”

Jiang Yizi was really taken aback, ”Yiyi, the Mrs. Song you saw today wouldn’t happen to be Song Xiaoqing, Mrs. Song, right? How do you know Mrs. Song?”

”I’ve met her once before.”

Yiyi didn’t elaborate, simply stating the truth. She’d only met Song Xiaoqing once before today’s second encounter.

Even though Yiyi put it simply, Jiang Yizi didn’t believe it. If they’d only met once casually, how could the eldest grandson of the Gu family take Yiyi to the Song family?

Since Yiyi didn’t say more, Jiang Yizi decided not to press further, ”Yiyi, are you visiting the Song family tomorrow? I forgot today; remember to bring something as a courtesy gift.”

Thinking about this, Yiyi looked at the gift bag in her hand and nodded, ”Yes, I should prepare a gift.”

Ding Yuejun also noticed the gift in Yiyi’s hand, ”Is this from Mrs. Song? We should prepare something properly then.”

”Indeed, Mrs. Song gave it to me. I guess I need to go out this afternoon to buy something practical as a thank-you gift.”

Jiang Yizi quickly interjected, ”No need, I’ll prepare the gift. Yiyi, you stay and keep Yue Jun company.”

After saying this, Jiang Yizi ran off, fearing Yiyi might refuse; after all, it’s a chance to gift the Song family, and she needed to prepare well.

Seeing Jiang Yizi run quickly, Yiyi couldn’t help but smile wryly.

Ding Yuejun smirked, ”Yiyi, since your aunt said she’d prepare it, let her do so.”

Hearing her mother’s words and seeing her expression, Yiyi asked, ”Mom, you seem to like the Chu family a lot.”

Ding Yuejun nodded, ”Yes, I really like my big brother-in-law’s family; here, I’ve finally felt the warmth of having family.”

Seeing her daughter silent, Ding Yuejun continued, ”Yiyi, I know you might blame your grand uncle for this incident, but I truly believe they had nothing to do with it. I can sense their kindness toward us.”

”Mom, I understand. I hold no grudge against grand uncle or his family.”

”That’s good.”

Ding Yuejun smiled and stroked her daughter’s hair.

The next day, Gu Tingyu arrived at the Chu family on time, and Yiyi brought the gifts prepared by Jiang Yizi to the Song family.

”Tingyu, Yiyi, you’re here, come in and sit.”

Seeing them arrive as promised, Song Xiaoqing was delighted and chatted with them for a long time. Finally, she couldn’t hold back her thoughts and asked Yiyi, ”Yiyi, would you like to be our goddaughter?”

”What...”

Hearing this, Yiyi looked surprised, never expecting Song Xiaoqing to make such a proposal, and she was momentarily stunned.

Not just Yiyi, even Gu Tingyu found it surprising.
