The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Visiting as a Guest

After dinner, Gu Tingyu didn’t rush to leave; he sat down to chat with Yiyi for a while.

Yiyi hadn’t seen him for several days, so they sat on the sofa, chatting slowly. She asked mostly about the details of how Gu Tingyu rescued Ding Yuejun today.

Gu Tingyu didn’t hold back, explaining the situation in great detail, and finally said, ”Don’t worry, I’ll continue to investigate this matter.”

”Thank you so much.”

This incident happened in Shangjing, making it quite difficult for Yiyi, as she wasn’t familiar with the place at all. If Gu Tingyu could help with the investigation, it would be the best outcome.

Upon hearing what Gu Tingyu said, Mr. Chu hurriedly added, ”Our Chu family will also make this a priority; we must find the kidnapper of Yue Jun.”

”With you helping with the investigation, that would be great,” Gu Tingyu said with a smile. He stayed for a while longer before preparing to leave.

Yiyi stood up and escorted him to the door.

”Yiyi, since you’re in Shangjing this time, how about we go see Mrs. Song tomorrow? She mentioned you again, saying she regretted not seeing you lately.”

Thinking about her mother’s encounter today, Yiyi didn’t plan to leave soon. She couldn’t rest easy until the mastermind was found, so she nodded and said, ”Let’s visit Mrs. Song tomorrow.”

Seeing Yiyi agree, Gu Tingyu smiled and said, ”Great, let’s set it for tomorrow. I’ll come to get you at eight in the morning.”

Yiyi nodded upon hearing this.

When she returned to the living room, Jiang Yizi couldn’t help but ask, ”Yiyi, are you familiar with the first grandson of the Gu family?”

”Pretty well, we met previously in Houshan Town.”

Jiang Yizi didn’t ask further, but she did gain a new perspective on Yiyi and her mother. She hadn’t expected them to know someone from the Gu family, and it seemed Gu Tingyu had a very good relationship with them.

Mr. Chu didn’t focus much on this matter; he looked apologetically at Ding Yuejun and said, ”Yue Jun, I’m really sorry. You and your daughter just arrived, and already ran into such trouble. Rest assured, whenever you go out, I’ll arrange for someone to protect you. This won’t happen again.”

Seeing Mr. Chu’s remorseful expression, Ding Yuejun quickly waved her hand and said, ”Uncle, it’s not your fault. Who could have predicted this would happen? Moreover, it won’t be necessary because Yiyi and I should head back tomorrow.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Chu frowned and said, ”Yue Jun, you shouldn’t leave tomorrow. The person who kidnapped you today hasn’t been found yet. What if something like this happens again when you go back? It’s better for you to stay in Shangjing for a few more days and wait until this matter is resolved.”

Yiyi also chimed in, ”Yeah, Mom, let’s wait a few more days before going back.”

”But...”

Ding Yuejun was full of hesitation. ”Yiyi, you still have school. In two months, you’ll take your college entrance exam; what if your studies are disrupted?”

On this topic, Mr. Chu clapped his hands and said, ”Don’t worry about that. Even if Yiyi stays in Shangjing, she can still study. It’s not like there aren’t schools here. We can even hire a tutor for her. So, you don’t need to worry about her studies; your safety is the most important now.”

”Mom, Uncle is right; your safety is what’s most important now. Besides, I’ve already arranged with Gu Tingyu to go out tomorrow.”

Seeing her daughter speak this way, Ding Yuejun could only nod her head.

Nevertheless, her primary concern was always her daughter’s education, so she directly looked at Mr. Chu and said, ”Uncle, then I’d trouble you to quickly find a tutor for Yiyi. She can’t afford to fall behind in her studies during this period, or it would be bad if her college entrance exam performance is affected later.”

”Don’t worry; I’ll give instructions later to quickly find an experienced tutor.”

Jiang Yizi cheerfully interjected, ”Yue Jun, rest assured; Dad will definitely find a good teacher for Yiyi.”

Finally, Ding Yuejun felt at ease.

By the next day, Gu Tingyu arrived at the Chu family residence at eight o’clock.

Upon seeing Gu Tingyu arrive, Jiang Yizi quickly asked, ”Mr. Gu, have you eaten? If not, please eat something first.”

”Thank you, I’ve already eaten.”

Jiang Yizi didn’t say much further upon hearing this.

By this time, Yiyi was already ready. She glanced at Gu Tingyu and said, ”Let’s go.”

With Gu Tingyu accompanying her, Yiyi easily entered the Song family residence with him.

Song Xiaoqing was extremely excited upon seeing Yiyi. ”Ah, my dear girl, you’ve come to Shangjing. I’m so glad to see you again.”

Seeing Song Xiaoqing so enthusiastic, Yiyi’s face was also full of smiles. ”Hello, Mrs. Song. Long time no see.”

”Calling me Mrs. Song seems too formal. Just call me Aunt Song.”

Yiyi didn’t hesitate and directly called her Aunt Song.

Seeing the two chatting happily, Gu Tingyu couldn’t help but jokingly say from the side, ”Seems like I’m unnecessary here.”

Upon hearing this, both Song Xiaoqing and Yiyi laughed.

”Alright, Tingyu, you and Yiyi have a seat. I’ll go make some tea for you. I was so happy talking that I forgot to serve you tea.”

”Aunt Song, no need to rush. We don’t need tea.”

”No way, after talking for so long, you must be thirsty.” Not only did Song Xiaoqing prepare tea, but she also sliced plenty of fruit.

The three chatted delightfully and didn’t notice the passing of time until a voice was heard outside the door, and Song Xiaoqing realized it was already mealtime.

At the door came Song Xiaoqing’s husband, Song Chi.

Seeing Gu Tingyu and Yiyi, Song Chi remarked, ”So, we have guests at home.”

”Yes.”

After seeing her husband return, Song Xiaoqing quickly introduced Yiyi to him. ”Old Song, this is the young lady I told you about—the one who saved me last time. She’s here in Shangjing, and it’s such a joy to see her again.”

Upon hearing his wife’s words, Song Chi looked at Yiyi with curiosity. ”So you’re the one, the young lady! Thank you so much. Without you, who knows what might have happened to my wife.”

”No need to thank me; actually, the biggest credit goes to Gu Tingyu. I just lent a small helping hand.”

”Yiyi, you’re being too modest. How can that be considered a small help?” Song Xiaoqing said disapprovingly, and then warmly invited Yiyi to stay for dinner.

Yiyi was a bit hesitant initially, but Gu Tingyu immediately agreed, so she ended up staying at the Song residence for a simple meal.

”Yiyi, eat more. This dish tastes pretty good; give it a try.”

Song Chi, though not saying much, was friendly and genuinely grateful that Yiyi saved his wife. As a result, the meal was enjoyed by both the host and guests.
