Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

61: Chapter 61 Trust Under the Snow MistMeanwhile, at the entrance of the department store in the East District, the crowd was bustling, and a line over a hundred meters long had already formed!

Zhou Cheng looked at the crowd, his face twisted into a scowl.

”Brother Zhao... what’s going on with these people? What time is it even?”

Zhao Wei frowned and said in a low voice.

”These people are either well-informed, or they are the ’buy gold every day’ type of home disaster preppers.”

”There are even people in police uniforms...”

Zhou Cheng’s gaze swept across the crowd.

”Even the police are buying here?”

Zhao Wei didn’t speak, but his eyes showed some unease.

The next moment, Ye Nanxing’s calm voice came through the communication headset:

”Abandon the procurement and leave the East District immediately.”

Zhao Wei was stunned.

”Huh? Although there are many people on our side, the scene is actually quite orderly—”

”It’s precisely because there are so many people that it’s more dangerous.”

”Zombies are a highly contagious virus; once an outbreak point appears, densely populated areas become hell. Currently, videos on all platforms are being blocked, and no one knows the truth.”

”You two, come to the North District immediately to rendezvous; the situation with Sun Hao and Zhang Tianjin is not looking good.”

Zhao Wei’s expression changed, and he replied immediately.

”Received, we’ll be there in ten minutes!”

Ye Nanxing moved like a shadow across the snow without a sound; in the wind, only her rapid yet steady breathing could be heard.

Slung across her shoulder was a Type 9 pistol, a military-grade long dagger was sheathed at her thigh, and several custom-made Molotov cocktails and explosive grenades hung from her waist.

At this moment, her pupils constricted as she stared at the slightly ajar iron door ahead.

[”There were over twenty in total, now there are only a dozen or so left.”]

[”Sun Hao is injured, his shoulder was scratched, but he wasn’t bitten.”]

The intelligence flashed through her mind.

Without hesitation, she kicked the iron door open!

”Bang!”

Behind the door, a zombie covered in festering sores lunged at her, almost right in her face.

”Bang, bang, bang!”

Ye Nanxing raised her arm and fired, bullets strafing out, directly blowing apart the creature’s skull, blood spraying like rain!

She rushed into the scene, her soles splashing foul-smelling mud mixed with herbal residue, rotting flesh, and blood on the ground.

”Zhang Tianjin! Take Sun Hao and evacuate, follow the route I came in!”

”Sister Ye—you’re alone?!”

Zhang Tianjin’s eyes were filled with terror, his face covered in blood, and the steel pipe in his hand was deformed.

”Shut up, move!”

Ye Nanxing raised her hand and fired another shot, hitting the left knee of a zombie about to lunge at her.

”Crack!”

The zombie fell to its knees; she stepped forward, driving her dagger from its jaw straight into its cranium, and as she pulled it out, brain matter splattered everywhere!

Zhang Tianjin helped the stumbling Sun Hao, whose shoulder was bleeding profusely, to leave; Sun Hao gritted his teeth and growled low.

”She’s crazy! Clearing over a dozen by herself!”

Zhang Tianjin stared fixedly at Ye Nanxing’s back, swallowing hard.

”She’s not crazy... she knows we can’t handle it.”

Meanwhile—

Ye Nanxing moved like a leopard, weaving between shelves, freezers, and the horde of zombies.

She didn’t fire mindlessly.

Bullets were in short supply, so she only aimed for vital spots, killing with a single shot, and handled the rest precisely with her long dagger.

”Crack!”

An elbow strike sent a lunging male zombie flying.

”Hiss—ugh!”

The blade flashed like lightning, stabbing straight into the creature’s eye socket, pulling out half of a mangled eyeball!

More and more zombies gathered on the ground, and blood had already covered the entire aisle.

Ye Nanxing’s breathing was slightly labored, but her fingers remained steady as a rock.

She suddenly delivered a flying kick, knocking over a shelf and temporarily cutting off several of the corpses!

Looking up, there were still five writhing and approaching—

At this moment, her gaze swept over, and she suddenly noticed: the one on the far left was moving the fastest, its eyes not rolled back, but instead glowing with a blood-red luster...

Her heart sank.

”Another mutant...”

”Why is it appearing now?”

”Didn’t the mutations only start half a year later in my past life?”

In this life, everything has changed.

”Bang!”

A gunshot exploded, and the air filled with the stench of gunpowder mixed with rot.

Zhao Wei and Zhou Cheng burst in from the side door, but their footsteps halted, and they froze in place.

They saw—

Ye Nanxing, standing alone amidst the pile of corpses.

A dozen zombie corpses were piled at her feet; some had their heads pierced by bullets, others had their necks severed by a sharp blade, and blood had already stained the snow, creating dark red marks like blooming black roses.

Her movements were fluid and natural; with a gun in one hand and a dagger in the other, she wove through the zombie horde without sustaining a single scratch.

”Holy sh*t...”

Zhao Wei muttered.

”This is too brutal...”

Zhou Cheng swallowed hard.

”Are you sure... she’s a woman?”

”What’s wrong with being a woman?”

Zhang Tianjin chimed in loudly.

”She saved the two of us! If she had arrived five minutes later, we probably would have become part of that pile of meat paste!”

Zhao Wei stepped closer, looking at Ye Nanxing, who was kneeling beside Sun Hao with a calm expression.

”How’s Haozi?”

”He’s injured.”

Ye Nanxing took a small transparent bottle from her waist pouch, containing the clear, bright spiritual spring water with a faint spiritual aura.

She pressed the bottle opening to Sun Hao’s lips.

”Come on, drink this.”

Sun Hao’s breathing was ragged; he barely managed to open his eyes.

”What... is this?”

Ye Nanxing’s tone was icy.

”You’ve been infected. You can either wait to mutate, or try this.”

”You’re not sure either?”

”...Not sure.”

Sun Hao smiled bitterly.

”Am I going to die... If it really doesn’t work... please, help me pass a message to my family.”

”They are all in the base; my parents aren’t in good health, and my sister is only 16.”

”I’m not asking you to raise them for me, I just hope... don’t let the base kick them out, saying that because I’m an infected, they’ll expel the whole family; they won’t survive that.”

Ye Nanxing was silent for two seconds, her eyes flickering slightly.

”Even if I’m not sure, if you die now, I won’t even have the chance to promise you.”

”You need to survive and tell them yourself.”

Sun Hao choked up, a tear welling in the corner of his eye, but he wiped it away fiercely with the back of his hand.

He swallowed the spiritual spring water, and Ye Nanxing immediately began to bandage and treat him, her movements clean and efficient.

”Beep, beep—”

The unmanned transport box activated, and Zhou Cheng and Zhao Wei were assisting in loading the medicinal materials and medicine chests into the vehicle.

”Highly concentrated anti-infection Chinese patent medicine, topical antibacterial spray, high-fever cooling patches—take it all.”

Ye Nanxing issued the order.

”In another month, these things will be more expensive than gold.”

Zhao Wei grinned.

”Understood, taking all the loot.”

”You really planned this out... actually knowing that Chinese patent medicine is valuable.”

Ye Nanxing didn’t look back, only saying coldly.

”In the future, it’s not that there’s a lack of medicine, it’s that no one dares to use it.”

”If we want to live, we need to have trump cards.”

Phoenix City high-level Shelter.

Ye Nanxing closed the windproof glass door of the balcony and turned to walk into the room.

The atmosphere in the room was heavy.

Sun Hao was still lying on the makeshift medical bed, covered in bandages, his breathing rapid, his forehead covered in sweat.

Even with the spiritual spring water, his body had not completely stabilized.

Zhao Wei walked to the window, took a look at the increasingly dense snowfall outside, and knitted his brows.

”How about we leave now? The government definitely won’t be able to control the city’s situation in the short term... If we wait any longer, it will probably be even harder to get back.”

”We can’t leave.”

Ye Nanxing said coldly.
