The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 1549: Chapter 1566: Her Homemade Soup 2

The bodyguards exchanged glances again, then said helplessly, ”Alright, Young Mistress, please hurry up. If the Young Master wakes up, it will be hard for us to explain.”

Xiaonuan nodded excitedly, completely unaware of the slyness in the bodyguards’ eyes.

With a heart full of joy, she carefully pushed open the door to the hospital room.

Sure enough, Nangong Yaoling was lying on the bed by the window, eyes closed, emitting steady breaths in the air.

The curtains were half-drawn, and the light in the room was somewhat dim. Xiaonuan tiptoed to the bedside.

Looking at Nangong Yaoling’s handsome sleeping face and the striped hospital gown he was wearing, Xiaonuan felt a slight pang of heartache.

She placed the lunchbox she was holding on the table beside him.

His complexion looked a bit pale. Although he had received a blood transfusion, he still needed time to recuperate.

Xiaonuan sat on a chair nearby, wanting to reach out and hold his hand.

But she was afraid of waking him, so she only gently placed her hand beside his fingers, faintly feeling his body warmth. The room carried his presence, making Xiaonuan feel as if her heart was like a lake under the sunlight, glimmering softly yet warmly.

A sudden feeling of being scorched overwhelmed her.

When you deeply love someone, you find that even breathing feels painful without them. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Xiaonuan struggled to control her emotions, but ultimately couldn’t help lowering her head, wanting to kiss his forehead.

Just like he used to kiss her gently before bedtime countless times.

So, she propped herself up and leaned down towards him.

Nangong Yaoling felt like he was about to suffocate.

Her body blocked the sunlight from his eyes. Even with them closed, he sensed a slight dimming and then her familiar scent. Clearly, she had bathed, as her skin emitted the fresh aroma of shampoo.

Nangong Yaoling greedily breathed her in but dared not inhale deeply. Instead, he took a big breath and held it for a while before releasing it. But the hardest part wasn’t this. The hardest part was desperately wanting to open his eyes and pull her into his arms, yet pretending he didn’t know she was there.

Was she going to kiss him?

This thought once again made his heart race and beat faster.

Her breath scattered upon his lips, his nose, his forehead.

Just as she was about to kiss him, suddenly, she froze.

”Why are you stopping me? I want to go in and see Yaoling!” A crisp voice sounded at the door. Xia Xiaonuan stiffened, and the next second, she hastily steadied herself, nervously stepping back.

”Bang—!” The chair behind her was instantly knocked over by her leg.

Her heart sank. She turned around, helplessly, grudgingly, looking at the chair that made the loud noise.

—Her heartbeat accelerated.

It was impossible to continue pretending to sleep, unless he wasn’t sleeping but had been sedated and passed out.

Nangong Yaoling wished he could rush out of the hospital room and strangle the woman shouting loudly.

Xia Xiaonuan heard rustling sounds of someone getting up behind her, forcing her to turn around with apprehension.

Nangong Yaoling looked at her sleepily, somewhat surprised...

”What are you doing here?” With a distinctly displeased tone, Xiaonuan noticed that his gaze also turned cold.

She bit her lower lip, ”I... I came to bring you some soup...”

Nangong Yaoling’s gaze coolly swept over her, landing on the thermal lunchbox beside him.
