The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 1532: Chapter 1549: Nangong Yaoling, Wake Up 7

Xiaonuan was lost in thought when she heard a knock on the door, momentarily stunned.

”Who is it?”

”Young madam, breakfast is ready, may I come in?”

”I’m not hungry, don’t want to eat, please take it away.” Xiaonuan said softly, staring in the direction of the door.

However, at that moment, the door was pushed open.

Xiaonuan frowned.

Seeing the chef come in with a tray, she couldn’t help but think that this chef seemed unfamiliar, probably new, as the household had never had someone this unrefined.

She was about to speak when the chef turned around, closed the door, and then walked to Xia Xiaonuan, placing the tray on the cabinet beside her.

He lowered his voice and said, ”Young madam, you should eat a little. If you don’t eat, not only the young master but also the master will worry.”

Xia Xiaonuan looked puzzled at the phone on the tray, surprised. Yet, when she heard the term ”master,” her heart skipped a beat.

She subconsciously glanced at the chef, who was wearing a hat, appearing to be around forty, his head lowered, looking respectful.

Xiaonuan’s face turned pale as she quickly asked, ”What do you mean? Who sent you here?”

”Young madam, someone wants to speak with you.” The chef said while picking up the phone and pressing a button. Then he handed the phone to Xia Xiaonuan.

Xia Xiaonuan held the phone, it felt incredibly heavy, her palms sweating, her hands shaking, she stared at her hands as if they were staring at a shape-shifting monster.

”Xiaonuan, it’s me.” At that moment, a voice, old yet full of authority, sounded from the phone.

Xiaonuan’s entire body trembled, she nearly dropped the phone on the ground.

Fortunately, the chef opposite her was quick and caught it, handing it back to Xiaonuan.

In despair, Xiaonuan took the phone and placed it by her ear.

”You... What exactly do you want?” she asked with a trembling voice.

Unexpectedly, Nangong Jinlie found his way here so quickly. Wasn’t Nangong Yaoling’s trip supposed to be a secret outing? How did Nangong Jinlie find out so soon?

”Xiaonuan, don’t forget what you promised me.”

”I... I didn’t...”

”Very well, since that’s the case, soon, you will follow my instructions.”

”...”

”Soon, my person will give you a pack of drugs; you’ll have Nangong Yaoling drink it. This drug will take effect within five minutes, you have to take him out onto the deck within five minutes, and then in front of him, leap into the sea...”

Xia Xiaonuan’s eyes widened.

”What? You’re asking me to commit suicide?” she almost screamed.

”Young madam, lower your voice.” The chef glanced at the door, whispering a reminder.

”Yes... it’s the only way to make Ling’er give up on you. But rest assured, my people have already set up an ambush near your ship, once you fall into the sea, someone will rescue you, rest assured, you won’t be in any danger.” A calm yet cold voice said.

”No way!” Xia Xiaonuan said firmly: ”I won’t agree to your demands! Nangong Jinlie, why do you always push people to the brink? Aren’t you afraid of retribution for this?”

”Enough, Xia Xiaonuan, don’t challenge my limits anymore. I promised you wouldn’t die, you won’t be harmed. If I truly wanted you dead, would you still be alive now? Don’t take my tolerance of you as a joke!
