The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 1541 -1558: Young Master Doesn’t Want to See You Right Now 1

The bodyguard said, “Young Madam, we’ve arrived. Be careful; I’ll take you to the hospital shortly.”

“Okay…” Xia Xiaonuan nodded.

Xiaonuan followed the two bodyguards as they drove to the hospital entrance. With the bodyguards surrounding her, she walked towards the hospital, feeling uneasy and tense.

“What? He refuses to see me?” Xia Xiaonuan stood at the ward door, looking incredulously at Qin Yi at the entrance, asking in shock.

“Yes, Young Madam, I’m truly sorry. The Young Master… isn’t in a good mood right now, so he hopes you’ll return to rest first. If he sorts things out, he should come to see you!”

Xia Xiaonuan closed her eyes.

“How’s his injury?”

“Don’t worry, it’s no longer serious.” Qin Yi said calmly and respectfully, looking at Xia Xiaonuan with a complex expression in his dark eyes.

Xiaonuan looked at him, always feeling like his gaze carried puzzled inquiry.

“Can… can you tell Nangong Yaoling I have something to discuss with him? I really want to see him… even if just a glance…”

“Young Madam, I’m really sorry.”

Brokenhearted, Xia Xiaonuan clutched her chest.

She stood with Qin Yi for a while, then recalled something and asked, “Right… what about those two people?”

“Which ones?” Qin Yi asked.

“The ones… bitten by the shark…” For some reason, she felt difficult to articulate, as if she was the cruel shark, the source of all evil.

This made her cheeks burn with shame.

Qin Yi glanced at her, hesitating slightly, but eventually spoke, “One has already escaped danger, but… he lost his arm. The other remains unconscious; his chest was bitten through by the shark, breaking four ribs, multiple fractures throughout the body. Doctors say even if he survives, he might become a vegetable…”

Xia Xiaonuan stood there, no longer showing surprise on her face, but rather, a bit dazed.

Because she seemed to understand something.

“Young Madam, these brothers… were personally trained by the Young Master, following him for at least five years… The Young Master has been greatly affected this time, so… he hopes you can understand him.”

Xia Xiaonuan nodded.

She finally no longer insisted on seeing him… because she knew in her heart that this time, Nangong Yaoling was truly angry with her. She didn’t know if he would forgive her.

But at least, she wouldn’t forgive herself.

Xiaonuan turned around and walked outside.

Worry flashed in Qin Yi’s eyes, and he immediately instructed someone to follow her.

Xiaonuan stumbled her way to the elevator, as passing nurses eyed her strangely, clearly unaware of the identity of this grief-stricken girl surrounded by four bodyguards.

Xiaonuan stood in front of the elevator, her mind replaying Nangong Yaoling’s last look towards her.

That deep and affectionate gaze frightened her suddenly, fearing one day she might find it had turned cold, even hateful.

But was she wrong? Where exactly did she go wrong? None of this was foreseeable. Who would have thought that the semi-conscious Nangong Yaoling would suddenly point a gun at himself; and if Nangong Jinlie had anticipated such events, he might surely regret his decision, right?
