The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 768: Chapter 779: Sharing River Clams with the Little Fox

She walked for a while longer and vaguely heard the sound of flowing water.

Her heart suddenly leaped with joy. She stopped, listened carefully, and discerned that the sound was coming from behind the forest.

Xia Xiaonuan hurried toward the forest but ran too fast and scratched her foot on a branch. She cried out in pain, lifting her foot to see it was bleeding.

Ignoring the pain, she saw a small river in the distance and quickly walked to the riverside.

As she got closer, she felt a cool breeze. The water in the river was so clear that she could vaguely see the small fish at the bottom.

Xia Xiaonuan drank a few sips of water and washed her face.

She wrapped her feet with pieces of her clothes and remnants of the parachute to temporarily replace her shoes.

Because she was extremely hungry, she found a dry branch by the river and walked along it, stopping whenever she saw fish to madly stick them with the branch.

She spent the entire morning doing this, getting almost sunburnt, but achieved nothing...

When she turned to get some shade, she unexpectedly saw a tuna trapped in the rocks.

She rushed over and quickly grabbed the fish.

The fish was extremely slippery and wriggled wildly as soon as she caught it. She threw the fish onto the sand and rocks, and before long, it was dizzy from the sun and had no strength to struggle anymore.

Let’s see how you escape now, Xia Xiaonuan thought triumphantly.

Then she dug up some fresh clams from the sand by the riverside.

The small white fish was less than ten centimeters long, but it was better than nothing.

Xia Xiaonuan found some dry branches, used stones to ignite dry leaves in the sunlight, and then used the branches to start a fire. She began to roast the fish and clams.

Soon, a fragrant aroma wafted through the air.

Although there was no salt and the fish didn’t taste particularly good, with a surface blackened by smoke leaving a hand covered in ashes, the meat was still very fresh. For the hungry Xia Xiaonuan, it was already very satisfying.

Combined with some fresh clams, the meal had a unique flavor.

Halfway through her meal, a golden-brown fox emerged from the woods, staring at her food with large, watchful eyes.

Xia Xiaonuan threw a roasted clam to the little fox. It grabbed the clam and darted back into the woods. One minute later, it returned.

Xia Xiaonuan almost cried, ”Bro, I have so little... and I still have to share half with you...”

She looked at the four clams in front of her and threw another one to the fox, ”Look, this is the last one!”

This time, the little fox didn’t go far; it started eating beside a small grove nearby.

As it ate, it kept a wary eye on Xia Xiaonuan.

She was amused by the fox’s adorable behavior and eventually threw the remaining two clams to it, then went back to the riverside to gather a few more.

She roasted and ate them again.

Once done eating and drinking, Xia Xiaonuan began walking along the forest to see if there were any clues about Situ Yan.

She also wondered how Nangong Feihong was doing. She remembered his plane had started to smoke and hoped nothing bad had happened.

Feeling very worried, but with nothing on her, she could only wander aimlessly.

Until nightfall, she didn’t see any signs of people.

However, in the distance, she could vaguely see a beautiful snow-capped mountain.

She sat on the grass and vaguely heard a ”wo-wo” sound coming from the forest. It was terrifying.

Startled, she jumped up from the ground and nervously looked around.

After a while, the sound disappeared.

Terrified, Xia Xiaonuan kept running forward. After a few hundred meters, she vaguely saw a house with lights on.
