The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 345: Chapter 345: Amazing, the Commandery Princess Knows How to Flirt

A single ”Sorry to trouble you” left Song Zhiyu a bit bewildered, staring in astonishment at Niu Pan’er.

Why does something feel off?

Ah, it’s her eyes, looking at me as if I’m some sort of wronged little wife, full of pity.

Pity your granddad!

Song Zhiyu jumped up, standing on the bed and glaring at her: ”Don’t give me that crap. I warn you, Miss Niu, stop those awful thoughts of yours. You’re not the man, I am. If there’s anyone who’s wronged, it should be me saying it.”

Indeed, standing on the bed, I can look down at her.

Niu Pan’er: ”...”

Her eyes met his, gradually filling with amusement.

”Sit down when you talk, aren’t you afraid you’ll bump your head?” She pulled a chair from beside the table and sat by the bed, starting to speak: ”I know you’re not happy about this engagement in your heart.”

”Oh, come off it, you’re not the worm in my belly, how would you know what I’m thinking?” Song Zhiyu snorted.

”I know, you like those spoiled and pampered noble ladies from the capital, gentle and lovely, understanding, not someone like me who’s unromantic and just a body short of being a guy. Being hastily betrothed to you, you must feel a great sense of disparity and certainly unwilling.”

Song Zhiyu wanted to shout nonsense but for some reason, something held him back from speaking.

”Actually, I’m also surprised and astonished by this imperial marriage,” Niu Pan’er crossed her hands, looking at him and saying: ”Before the edict, I never thought about what kind of person my husband would be, not because I didn’t understand, but because I knew thinking wouldn’t change anything. My husband, whoever he was, would have to be approved by the Emperor because I come from the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion.”

Song Zhiyu remained silent, feeling something odd and uncomfortable. Her earnest demeanor made him feel like a child throwing a tantrum, while an adult was doling out wisdom.

A bit frustrating.

”So I never fantasized about what kind of person my husband would be. To me, whether he’s ugly or handsome, good or bad, it would be the same. He would be my husband, and if nothing unexpected happens, the father of my children, that’s all there is to it.”

Song Zhiyu gulped, clenching his hand on the quilt, staring at her intently.

Niu Pan’er, looking at his hand and then at his eyes, said: ”But when the Emperor betrothed you as my husband, honestly, I was happy and joyful, and even somewhat relieved.”

Song Zhiyu froze.

”Song Yulang, compared to others, it’s fortunate that you’re my husband.” Niu Pan’er smiled sweetly.

Thump thump thump.

Song Zhiyu’s heart began to race uncontrollably.

The tips of his ears turned slightly red as he deliberately said in a jester’s voice: ”What are you doing, saying such things? Are you trying to seduce me because I’m handsome? I knew you coveted my looks from the start!”

Niu Pan’er chuckled mischievously: ”Saying this, I actually just wanted to ask you for directions.”

Song Zhiyu was dumbfounded: ”Directions, to where?”

”To your heart.”

Poof!

Song Zhiyu choked on his saliva, pointing at her.

Impressive, this tomboy was actually a hidden flirt, he really misjudged her.

Niu Pan’er said: ”Yulang, don’t worry, I’ll surely treat you well. Even after we marry, you can still be as you were before, doing whatever you like. If anyone bullies you, I’ll teach them a lesson. You just continue to be carefree and happy, leave everything else to me.”

Song Zhiyu: ”...”

This is quite the turnaround.
