The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Mom’s Hurried Driving

It’s understandable that Prince Dingbei wants his daughter to marry Song Zhiyu as soon as possible, but Song Ci doesn’t want to make decisions for his youngest son without asking him. It’s too rushed, like being pushed onto someone.

It’s a bit unfair to the son.

So, Song Ci called the person involved over and explained the situation.

As expected, after receiving the royal decree, Song Zhiyu, who had been out of spirits, now looked even more like a withered eggplant, pitifully looking at his mother.

”Mom, are you in such a hurry to kick me out?” Song Zhiyu pouted, ”You should think it through. Once I’m married, I can’t live here every day anymore.”

After all, as the husband, even if not marrying into her family, he would still live with the Commandery Princess at her mansion.

Seeing the young boy’s pitiful and dismal appearance, Song Ci suddenly felt like a big villain, forcing the young man to be a groom.

Oh no, I can’t think of that, it’ll just make me feel guilty.

”This is your elder brother’s idea.” Song Ci pointed to her eldest son, indeed shifting the blame.

Song Zhiyuan took a sip from his teacup, coughed twice at the words, and glanced at his mom with a questioning look.

Song Ci avoided his gaze, with an attitude that screamed ”better you than me”.

Song Zhiyuan: ”...”

”Big brother, getting married right after the betrothal, people will think I’m desperate. At least wait until next year, right?” Song Zhiyu said eagerly.

Song Zhiyuan scratched the tea foam in his cup with the lid and said, ”Don’t worry, everyone knows Prince Dingbei is in a hurry to return to the Northeast. At his age, he only has one daughter, and his late wife is gone. He probably doesn’t want his daughter to marry without an elder at her side.”

Song Zhiyu paused.

Sounds a bit pitiful.

”Can’t he just delay leaving a bit?”

Song Zhiyuan glared at him, ”Nonsense, Prince Dingbei is the Grand Marshal commanding armies in the Northeast, he can’t be away for too long. Winters there can be unstable, with bandits often trying to sneak across the border to steal food.”

Song Zhiyu fell silent.

Song Ci then said, ”Actually, there’s no harm in marrying early. The Commandery Princess said during the wedding month, they’d stay at our mansion. After the month, she’d return to the Prince Mansion with you.”

”Would she really be so nice?”

”Of course, you got such a good wife, you should be secretly happy.” Song Ci snorted lightly, continuing to persuade, ”Getting married has many benefits, aren’t you longing for a wife and kids warming your home too? Imagine, falling asleep holding someone soft, opening your eyes to find them beside you, wouldn’t it be wonderful?”

”Mom, you’ve got it wrong. It’s the Commandery Princess who would find joy in having someone as handsome, fragrant, and good-looking as me beside her!”

Song Ci: ”...”

Could you not interrupt my brainwashing session?

”Anyway, it’s all the same, you just, well, get married and... hehe...” Song Ci laughed sinisterly, with a deeper meaning implied.

Song Zhiyuan: ”...”

He was about to spit tea again. How could Mom talk like that at her age?

Song Zhiyu, on the other hand, shivered, hugging his shoulders, ”Mom, your smile is a bit creepy.”

”Get out!” Song Ci kicked him lightly, ”So that’s settled, elder one, let’s set it for the eighth of October and have your wife arrange some people to tidy up and paint the Fufeng Pavilion. Also, prepare the dowry properly, we shouldn’t slight the girl.”

”Mom, I protest! I object! I never agreed to this!”

Song Ci smiled warmly, ”Protest invalid. You agreed, your heart agreed, mother and son are connected, I heard it.”

Song Zhiyu: ”...”

Are you actually a bandit?
